Does anyone have any recommendations for mounting speakers underneath a Jerker shelf?

The speakers are about 5.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide (on their sides). They take up too much desk space and there's no room on top of the shelf. I'm looking for a couple of the original side shelves but trying to find an alternative.

Thanks!

A link to the speaker(s) would help, so we could see what type of mount would be possible with it.

I like those speaker shelves. I have been debating about doing something like that with a tabletop, except I would put a whole shelf for my monitors, and then probably put those angled capitas for excess shelving.

Thanks enginurd, they are discontinued Velodynes that I can't really find any info on, they would be the rears for my home theater if I could setup surround sound. I think they called them front rows. They have keyhole mounts.

I didn't know if there was maybe a shelf I could screw in or some way to hang them from the metal piece under the shelf. Or maybe some kind of actual speaker mount.

Thanks!

Check out the speaker mounts monoprice offers. You might have to mod the mount somehow.

You could pick up one of these to countersink the bolt and then it won't stick up:

If you look at the image on the ikea website, I have them flipped. The four screws now act as the base portion that attaches to the desk. The circular plate that attaches to the other end is designed to go through a top that is 1 5/8" or thicker. I needed something that would screw into that existing hole but still remain short enough to sit under the speaker, a 1" bolt was able to accomplish that. It fits through the shelf I used and allows me to rotate the speaker stands if I want to. The longer bolt would go through the base of the speaker.

Nah, tried to take it with the lights on and off but realized there isn't much light in my room. I guess I'm going to need to get more things to brighten it up a bit.

I really want a galant desk. Does having one leg of the L being smaller (width) bother any of you guys?

It doesn't bother me in day to day use, but it definitely makes placement not as "universal" and adds another consideration to right vs left L.

dyno are those multiple galant pieces linked together?
Can you link which pieces if so?
Thanks, thats the exact type setup i'm looking for

Wow, didn't realize IKEA made it harder to find the individual pieces. WTF did they do!?!?

Anyhow, this looks like the combo you want:

or you can you can start with these:

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S69807552/#/S59864166 (comes in black, just go to the store)

Then just add the rounded edges:

You can add as many extensions and legs as you like:

new to this thread. does anyone have a good recommendation for a corner or small L shape desk. Looking for two desks for my new apartment when I get married.

Interesting, I was just at Ikea the other day and they had tons of them. Both in brown leather and the black.

That's if they still have them. I had a hard time finding one and now I see that they are no longer listed on there webpage.

Edit: I see that they only have the straight one... they show in stock at my local IKEA so maybe they only stock them in the store now.

That's a nifty idea for cable management, import. How are you holding up the shelving racks?

just using the standard u brackets in the front, under the desk.
i have the back hung up with binder clips on the back edge of the desk. you can sorta see it in the pic. this way, they are easily removable, and the whole cage swings down.

New Galant desk + 1 extension with signum cable management.

That looks really good. Do you mind telling how much that was? I've been thinking about going with a corner galant with extensions but I'm not sure I like how one side is bigger than the other and having just a long desk like your's might work out well too.
