Just got an email from Microcenter. Looks like they're doing the same promotion on the i5 3570k as they are doing on the 2500k right off the bat.

Doesn't show up on their website yet.

I'm about an hour or so away from one, so I was thinking of a i5-3570K and a ASRock Z77 Professional for about $370 + tax... think it's very worth it?

Hmm ... I'm very tempted to sell my 2500k on Ebay and pick up a 3750k at Micro Center. I may even turn a profit.

Do you guys think it's worth the hassle?

Anyone else waiting for it to go online? Any idea when they would actually have them up on the site? Basically I'm going to stay up til they put it online and select to pick it up in store and I might just go pick it up the 30th, instead of the today (29th) because I'm getting up at 3PM to watch the Flyers game.

It's online now, if you have the direct link from the email. But my local store says out of stock.

Nevermind, I found one.

So apparently they are already out of stock? Or is it just up there for now and can't add it just yet?

I'm not too sure, I'm not exactly familiar with the way Microcenter handles new releases. It could be them just waiting to take inventory before posting up availability. Since it doesn't open until 11, it could be that it won't appear online until 11, give or take an hour or so.

Fucking fuckerton... so I'm going to have to get up around then and check? I mean, in the original email link, it allowed you to add the CPU (not directly from the item's page, but from the promo's page).

Okay, apparently it is sold out at EVERY store, but they have some online, but when you try to add it to the cart, it says it has been removed... what does that possibly mean?

My guess is that when the staff comes in, they'll take inventory and update the website. Until then, you can't pre-order.

Just because this is driving me nuts, do you think I should just basically paid 21 extra bucks and get the combo pack of the 3570K and the ASRock Extreme6 Z77 mobo from Newegg and be done with it that I have a guaranteed order and I don't have to go driving for no reason when I may not get one? I even just remembered I didn't get the check from the state back for taxes haha.

Or I could wait and see if MC still has any in stock and is the prices in general have gone down on Newegg or Amazon?

I can almost guarantee that Newegg and Amazon prices will NOT go down on account of Microcenter.

The most comparable motherboard to the Extreme6 board is the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H in the email. That comes out to be 330 + tax, about $70 less than the Newegg combo.

It depends on how much your time is worth to you.

Also with the UD5H, I'd have to get a new keyboard then because of no PS/2 slots.

With tax and if I got the keyboard on Amazon (Sidewinder X4), it would come out to about 2 bucks more expensive than with the 3570K and ASRock Z77 Professional.

I'll wait till I get up I guess. If I get a little behind people who jumped the gun early, oh well, I'll figure something out.

The MC email doesn't seem to really mean much. The 3570k is out of stock at every MC. They're just using the email to get people foaming at the mouth to get their hands on one. Oh well, what would you expect? Maybe they'll have them actually in stock in a few days.

My personal experience has been to never trust the online numbers they display on their site. When the sandy E came out a few months back, their online store had it in stock but they never actually had any in store. Made me drive out 40 mins for nothing twice.

works now, or at least here, just checked, it's in stock and orderable at both Atlanta stores for 18 minute pickup...both show in stock of 10+

This can be ordered online ! I got next day shipping for $15 !!!!!

I opted not to update the slickdeals thread :)

Got the 3570k and the Asus P8Z77 pro for $397 shipped (tax in my state) overnight.

I grabbed the same combo. 3570/P8Z77 Pro. Figured I should take advantage of the extra $100 off, especially since Microcenter is shipping for once.

Just ordered Mine 195 shipped to the house. Damn thats a killer deal. Thanks OP... Now just need to figure out what MB I want.

If they continue to have available online and have a Fry's close by then have them price match it!

... just bought 2500k and mobo the other day from them, none of those fuckers at checkout (even the manager who came over do a price match on some RAM) nor the guy that was helping me find parts said anything

Return the items if you wish. You can do that you know.

I don't think it's worth it. It would cost me $25 more for the exactly same bundle I got, plus $10 for gas to get to and from the nearest MC, not to mention packing everything up and setting it all up again... not at all worth the effort for what IB brings (almost nothing).

Guess I'm hoping they'll get a nice price drop on the older bundle and then I could get some refund on the price difference.

But honestly I had no idea they'd do another crazy good promo like this so quickly, that's why I went ahead and bought 2500k, I thought for sure they'd just sell the new stuff at retail cost, at least for a month. How can they afford to give out new brand motherboards at nearly 50% off MSRP, not to mention the cheapest prices by far, on a *brand new just released* processor?

I was just about to checkout when it gave me this:

"Removed items that are inactive or no longer valid."

Says it for both web store and my local MC. :(

Mine actually said that the order wouldn't ship until 5/2 and that it might be delayed if they don't have enough stock. If that happens I'm not going to be amused.
