Configuring Drobo w/ Time machine

i have a drobo that i want to use with time machine. Can i just partition the drobo into 2 - partions? will that affect the whole "drobo structure"? right now i have 4x500 in the drobo. i want to use 1tb for time machine and the rest for regular storage use. i will be adding a 2tb drive in the next few days

Did you even try to google your question before posting? Drobo has a whole support/KB for these kind of inquiries. Just make sure you are using the most recent release of the Dashboard and firmware.

I used a few of their products at work/for clients (FS for my workstation; Drobo B800i for VM snapshots at a client) and they are excellent; easy to setup, incredibly bullet proof, and support is great. If you have the finances and/or take data integrity serious, pick up a Drobo (or a EMC VNXe3100. ) Steer clear of LaCie.

I have the original Drobo. It's great for keeping data safe, but it is sloooooooooow as can be. I can only assume newer models are faster, but mine is a creeper.
