The name Lamborghini is most famous in the world for producing sleek, sexy and very fast sports cars is rumored to be readying a very high end SUV for all of those trendy jet-setters in the world with too much pocket change and several kids in tow. The SUV will sport a 600 HP turbocharged engine to power the four-wheel drivetrain, but will have the lowest CO2 emissions footprint in its class.

Makes sense. Theres no trunk space in the current Lambos. You gotta being your groceries home in something.

looks like a Porsche cayenne knock off. And the marble looking interior is ugly and very distracting to the eye. Carbon fiber and suede would be much nicer.

this...

LM2002

The LM002 was the proto-Hummer. This new lambo isn't even an SUV - it's a crossover. I guess they haven't looked at the\ sales numbers of the Cayenne since launch (topped 19K in '04, 8,300 in 2010) as there isn't a market for 6-figure vehicles that serve no purpose. With The Cayenne firmly established and the X6 starting to muscle into that market as well, I just can't see this one selling that well.

*note: I also loathe the Panamera and the Ferrarri FF as I think all these vehicles diminish the lineage of these manufacturers.

You would think this is something knew, until you realize that Porsche has done the same thing.

And most of those were probably purchased by Jerry Bruckheimer for use as camera vehicles.

Someone gets it!

Maybe they are working their way backwards to their roots when they started out making tractors. Fastest tractor on the farm. :D

Most of those Lambo SUVs will make their way here to Miami Beach.
There's deep snow down here, but not the kind that falls from the sky. ;)

In my younger days I would travel down Miami Beach way from the treacherous Minneapolis winter and somehow get caught in that deep snow one or two nights...

A Lamborghini SUV is a stupid idea. It means you'll flip the car if you take a turn in second gear.

I don't see what everyone is up in arms about.

600hp while alot, isn't stupidly redic in a vehicle this large as opposed to a small 2 door car. It is actually pretty decent looking (better than that horrible thing porsche makes), interior aside given there should be some color choice I could drive this. Granted I will never be able to afford one, but still not bad looking at all.

Lamborghini is owned by the Germans. 'Nuff said.

Oh, and Ducati too now :(

Germans just don't believe in purity.

I find the pictures of this vehicle on/by rocks hilarious considering none of these will probably ever see off-road travel.

Hell, if someone gave me one, I wouldn't punch them in the face over it. The only thing Lamborghini needs to do is build multi trim/tiers of this and start pricing around $45K. Would sell well globally, likely, and give Lambo a hell of a lot of profitable revenue.

Lamborghini is a small factory, they probably wont produce more than 300 per year, they dont need to sell thousands to make a profit.

That's too cheap. It would hurt the brand image and eat into sales of other VW/Audi products. Remember Lambo is owned by VW/Audi/Porsche.

Anyway Lambo may a SUV in the late 80's/early 90's.

Well, if you want Lamborghini to go back to their roots, they should just make tractors.

So? Chevy makes the Corvette. Dodge makes the Viper. Not everyone can afford their Supercars. Lambo could make a modest priced SUV, but still have the allure of their Gallardo and Murcielago.

Why should it matter if if it eats in to sales of Audi, VW, or Porsche? It's all going into the same coffers. Same line of thinking that GM makes SUVs, trucks, and cars across all its brands. They don't give a crap which one sells more, just as long as something sells.

Interesting since all those Italian sports car companies went bankrupt and since the Germans have bought them they have become profitable again. I guess quality is important too, not just "purity".

That said, these SUV's really are stupid. They aren't even good at off-roading, BMW is especially bad at that. Their SUV's really suck at what they are supposed to be built for.

Stupid idea is stupid, although it doesn't seem to stop Porsche from making the Cayenne...

Nothing like an off road car which you afraid to get dirty.

The Cayenne isn't even that bad though, I mean its not a Land Rover but its not terrible.

pretty sure it was a german who started WW2 and killed millions for purity...

also, isn't the first lambo SUV...

the sheikhs love them some old school LM002s for desert running

also, the germans totally saved lambo...

Audi Q3 that is mildly Lambo shaped + huge engine?

Sounds like Audi AG is at it again! Yay huge parts bucket!
