Is there anything worth a shit there to anyone? I didn't see anything of interest for myself.

link brings up 4 hot items. first one is a asus lappy for $320, but when you click on link it says it's 399.99...even when added to cart.
This is a 'no deal'

The only thing I saw that might be a good deal is a XFX 6770 other than that nothing that looks worth it to me.

I get these emails, but have never been to one of these.

I didn't see anything that looked like a must have deal.

Well that's if you buy directly on their website RIGHT NOW.

If you go to the midnight sale (at the store), you'll get the savings. Then again taxes will jack it up to the normal price I bet.

The sale doesnt start until midnght EST. The 4 items on top are just an early showing of what the sale price will be.

Must be clearing warehouse room for all the stock they'll be sending back from store closures...

Is this online only or online + in-store?

The link says Online. I'm guessing it's online only. I would think if it included the retail store locations they would mention it (at least I hope they would, since all the stores I know of close around 9pm)

whats the catch with that laptop, it has to be on midnight sale for a reason, Best Buy isn't in the philanthropy business. I need a laptop, but if I can't have the option to optimize it by the Geek Squad, then thats going to be a deal breaker :p

Every time those chumps "optimize" a laptop for someone, a small woodland creature dies and I scream. Then I get to un-"optimize" the system. I guess I should thank them for the business. :D

If Best Buy corporate wants to know why their business is failing just link them to this BS sale. It's a page full of garbage. The only way they could possibly move any of this on a regular day is to give it away for free.

Not true. I know quite a few people who would bite on that laptop if it was that price in stores.

I have a similar laptop, last year's model but the same specs. It's actually pretty damn awesome. I don't game on it, never tried. But for work/entertainment, I love it.

This is why this company has been dubbed "Worst Buy"

I give Best Buy 3-5 years before it goes belly-up.

I agree. I believe BestBuy is now just a showroom. I buy all my junk at Amazon but when I have to try before I buy I head over to BestBuy and fool around with their stuff and then order online.

I have BestBuy gift cards that I am dying to use up but their prices are marked up so high it's not worth to use it other than for their pencils and markers they are now selling. I think they are transitioning into a Staples store or at least testing the water.

It's bad enough CC went out of business. I want BB to stay in business so that there's a B&M option for when I need something right away and can't wait a few days for the widget to be shipped to me.

just order a few days early

That's if you can predict "Hey, my video card will die in 3 days." ;)

Having B&M access saved a friend's business. The server he owns in a data center he's renting for his business stopped working. It turns out that the PSU died and he was alerted when his server wasn't online. He went to the data center, inspected the components (suspected the PSU), then ran to the local BB, bought a PSU, swapped it out w/ the bad one, and his server was back up and running a few hours later. If he had been down for a few days, you can bet that his customers would've been screaming (much more loudly) and that he'd lose many of them.

He said his server has a redundant PSU and that also failed (or maybe had failed prior and didn't know about it until the 2nd died). Talk about horrible luck. He replaced both PSUs via Best Buy.

Then he should have had a THIRD PSU waiting... :D

Actually he should purchase one quality PSU instead of a low price PSU. The quality PSU's have always lasted 5+ years for me and you only need to blow away some dust once every 2years. The two times I went with a lower price PSU... they've died on me after 2 years... and one of them took the motherboard with it.

I do have an emergency laptop(6gbs_ram) if my desktop does die from a lightning storm or something. So I recommend a 2nd computer... thus you can keep playing games or working while you await your online order

Which are sold at a loss for the store. They are losing money on that laptop. Most likely the people buying that laptop wouldn't get anything else.

LOL, yeah, can't have too much redundancy.

I have no idea what brand of PSUs he bought, but knowing him, I know he buys quality components, so maybe he just got lemons, which can happen from even the most reputable brands.
