Should take 20% off all Rosewill keyboards. I think the best deal is on mechanical keyboards, however, others can chime in if they feel some of the cheaper dome switch gaming boards are good alternatives. Sometimes these go on sale for around these prices but usually just 1 model at a time, now you get to pick any cherry key switch, most will be $80. I bought a cherry red last time it went on sale and they offer good value IMO. 104 key only, plain, matte, black, to fit your conservative life style lol.

Not bad... Reviews are usually good on these models...

Have you had any issues with the characters being worn off of the keys?

/edit: Hrrmm... The mx brown version is $10 higher than the others for no reason =/

Ya cause browns are the defacto best conservative choice. Always higher =[ But still $88 for a cherry brown keyboard is not bad.

I have not had mine long enough to have keys wear out. They might I suppose but I am willing to put up with that not that. I never look at the keys, I am most concerned with the switch feel and key rollover.

These also have a removable USB cord, so you could buy any lenght you wanted from monoprice or newegg and have a nice fit for your computer.

Don't have the source handy, but I've heard these are made by the same OEM that builds some of the 'better' boards (either Filco or Leopold). The quality should be pretty good, except that Rosewill decided to add a detachable USB cord and that has become a source of failure on some boards. I'd imagine it would be fine though if you aren't manhandling the thing.

First revisions were but not anymore.

you are thinking of Coolermaster CMStorm Quickfires which are built by same OEM that also makes Filco mechs.

That's not true, Mx Reds used to go for more than the browns. That being said, i enjoyed my browns but the clears are the best IMO.

I got this board last week (along with a Corsair K90), I gotta say I was impressed with the quality feel it has to it... I had read plenty of positive reviews but I still expected Rosewill to cut corners somewhere, I guess longevity of the paint used on the laser etching could be it tho I obviously haven't had any wear out in such a short time. For some reason the lettering feels raised even tho it's supposedly laser etched, dunno if they moved away from etching or it's just paint overfill and that's why there's complaints of fading...

It feels solid all around, rubber grip pads on the bottom are nice and thick, feet seem more frail than the K90's but not particularly fragile. The red plate behind the keys is a nice touch but it doesn't stick out. No complaints really, seems like a perfect no frills mechanical (and one of the cheapest).

I got it with browns tho, and frankly I'm not crazy about them... Everyone seems to say they're a good middle ground between reds/blues but frankly the tactile bump just seems very easy to overlook when typing quickly (compared to blues)... So yeah, it's quieter, but it just feels much closer to reds than blues to me. Personally I liked the red switches better, if you really really like that tactile feel I'd go blues, particularly if you tend to hammer the keys and you think you'll be bottoming out often (the sound of that is louder than the clicking).

This is the very same reason why i love my clears, since they have a more pronounce bump than the browns. I ended up taking the softer springs from my browns and put them into my clears for the "ergo clears" mod and love them.

I'd love to try those but they seem to be the rarest switch right now... I'm liking reds tho, I got used to the key travel fairly fast and I'm getting better at not bottoming out when typing faster than I expected, I'm sure I'll always do it to some degree but I probably would with blues as well.

I am loving my Rosewill with Reds. I feel this board was a step up from my old Leopold.

Those are Cherry Blue switches btw.

Yup it is, also wanted to mention that the code works for the whole site so if anyone wanted blacks, the thermaltake meka for 82.99 before 15% should be pretty a decent mx black keyboard for ~$70 +$7 shipping
