using old parts, what case is good and fits these?

i second the gd04/gd05, you can even move up one size to the sliverstone lc17

I have been using an earlier model of the Antec Fusion for a couple years now. I love it. It is about as thin as you are going to get with using a micro atx with full sized cards. Great cooling and good layout. It also looks like a piece of stereo equipment.

Those are full height cards, what are you expecting without specialty hardware?

They power supply will take up 30% of the space too...

The lc17 series size slots right under my receiver. nearly the same width.

The gd04/05 series is smaller then standard AV size.

well, that link didn't work btw... but that case looks perfect. exactly what i was hoping for. thank you!

hmm... seems it's as bit difficult to find the older version unless buying from sites i'm not familiar with. don't really like the newer version. you sure this would fit a 5770 or 6850?

Does it have a power port on the SIDE of the card? That is about the only way I would think it would not work. I was able to put a gts250 in there and that is a pretty long card. Only reason why it will not fit permanently is because of the side power port. If it is on the end it might work. Give me a measurement and I can measure the clearance in my case.

the 6850 is the longer card by a fair amount it's 8.5"

the plugs do come out of the end. i

had a cooler master elite 360 and the 5770 fit fine but had to do some improvising to get the 6850 to squeeze in there because the psu was placed right at the end of the card slots.

Sorry it took me this long to respond. You have about a good 10" clearance from the back of the box. The only problem you might have is a cooling situation since the card is so big, there isn't a lot of room for the air to move from the left to the right of the case. Size wise though, you are good.
This case has 2 120mm fans along the side, essentially right near where the proc would normally be.
Here is a pic of what the case would look like open.

And here is a link to my original build. It is a bit old but the interior of the case is going to be the same.

That power supply is of extremely shitty quality. Probably can't provide no more than 1/3rd of its capability under proper conditions. I recommend this PSU as a replacement:
$47 - Corsair 430CX V2 430W PSU

The case that Occidio posted a pic of is pretty much the NSK 2480:
$110 - Antec NSK2480 mATX case with Antec Earthwatts 380W PSU
