That said, here is a clue and some history.

Its been forever since Kyle and Steve have seen this puppy.

To keep it back on topic, we'll see how long it takes DHL to get them to the east coast. They left today.

Did the delivery date match up with the estimated one? I ordered my QH270-lite late Monday from dcsamsungmall, and my estimated delivery is next Monday. I'm hoping to get it before the weekend

According to the FedEx site when I checked yesterday, the scheduled delivery date was 2012-04-16. Insanely fast shipping. Going to hook it up in a few minutes and try it out.

Just got it plugged in and checking it out. Using a standard 3 prong power supply type cable with the power brick. It's running cool.

Turned on and display worked with no issues. Using a 7970 card.

Zero dead pixels.

Do not notice any reflection with the display.

No noteworthy backlight bleed.

Colors look great and will require minimal adjustment.

Text is extremely crisp and easy to read.

Stand is solid and steady. Fixed stand, but that works fine for me.

It's very sharp, clear, and stunning. Completely blows away my Samsung S27A550H and PX2370 LED displays.

So far, it's hands down the best display I have ever owned, and worth every penny I paid for it.

Now I just need to see if my Dell M4500 laptop w/ Quadro FX 880M can drive this sucker, and if so run down to Microcenter and pick up a DVI-D KVM that can do 2560x1440.

Great to hear! Congrats on the perfect monitor. Can't wait to get mine. I'm hopeful now it'll come before the weekend.

Between this and the OCN thread there is too much to digest. Could someone who has made a post on page 1 edit their post and write up a cliffs notes version? I'm looking for the best possible gaming performance in the form on smoothless if that makes any difference.

Im just confused to which available model has the ability to overclock. I know the catleaps no longer do or its a crap shoot.

Info here:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1225919/yamakasi-catleap-monitor-club

Be sure to check out Scribby's post about the OC PCBs. He updated it on the 9th. Basically he is supposed to get a batch of cards that can OC. From there I believe he is looking to have someone make them (thus taking pictures, and confirming parts before he will "send them out to be destroyed."

The older Catleap 2B boards were able to OC. All of the panels seem to have 2C or newer. One of the manufacturers said the letter referred to the "month" the board was produced.

The thing is that from the pictures taken and forum info, it seems the Catleap, Crossover, Achieva, and any of the others that use the same IPS LG panel all use the same or similar board to drive, which would suggest that you may be able to get these panels today, and get a post "OC" card at a later time if scribby comes through with a solution.

A lot of the posts have been very positive, especially for gaming. You'll find quite a few screenshots around as well.

What I know: Earlier Catleaps were capable of overclocking due to its PCB. The PCBs in the Catleaps have labelling; 2B being overclockable, and the newer 2C not being able to overclock. As far as I know, no other Korean monitor (this includes, Achieva Shimian, PCBank, Davi, etc) can be overclocked, or at least not past 65hz. Recently, people at Overclock have bought from seller bigclothcraft on eBay and gotten 2B Catleaps, but there's no guarantee.

Some guy has been in contact with a manufacturer of the panels and is currently in negotiations to get an OC model manufactured. Check it out: http://www.overclock.net/t/1232084/yamakasi-catleap-q270-100hz-guaranteed/740#post_16945455

What it boils down to: If you want a guaranteed overclockable monitor, play the waiting game. The closest to possibly getting a 2B Catleap right now is buying through bigclothcraft on eBay, and who knows how long those 2B monitors will keep getting shipped for. Best bet is to see how this new manufacture of OC monitors pans out. If you're content with 60hz, do a bit of shopping around on the Overclock forums. People say the Catleap has a wobbly stand, the tempered glass models can have dust behind the glass, PCBank has best refresh rate, Davi has CCFL, etc. etc.

FYI, if going from a 1920x1080 to the 2560x1440 display, you may need to reinstall GPU drivers. I had to do this for my 7970 to take care of an issue with flicking at bottom of screen. The flickering was most pronounced when vertically scrolling in apps like web browser or word.

No Idea who that jackass was, but no, he is not me. I thanked the last guy for the post with the two links.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions

Here is my Crossover 27Q LED-P ICC profile, it works with games and movies, for me at least.

Prothean, from overclock tried it, here are the results:

Here's the calibrated image using MenacingTuba's color profile:

An easier way to see the difference is to click between "First Image" and "Second Image" links on this page:

If you have a Crossover I recommend trying my ICC profile and taking a before/after picture of the Norway picture. Every display+gpu configuration is different, but there is no harm in trying out these ICC profiles.....or is there?

ToastyX has a profile for the Catleap which you can get here:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1215866/...g-90hz-achieva-shimian-qh270-and-catleap-q270

10e has one for the Shimian but I don't think he has uploaded his yet.

What it boils down to: If you want a guaranteed overclockable monitor, play the waiting game. .

Fortunately what we have to wait for isn't the decision to remake these overclockable monitors.

From OCN

:) good for you, this is not an April fool!
Well, Thursdays meeting, they agreed that they would make these! What Im waiting for is, final Specs + price + Link where you can buy!
It will take about 1 month to manufacture!
the guy called "somethng" who is also posting, is my contact. So he is reading everything you suggest aswell!

Looks like I was wrong about not seeing anymore "large" price drops anytime soon. The QH270-lite can now be had for as low as $325

Is there any difference between the Achieva and Catleap monitors other than the shell?

The Catleap looks like it USED to be able to o/c better but neither monitors will do so now.

Based on my preference that the Catleap is cheesier than the Acheiva looks wise, am I missing out on anything with one over the other? Which has a sturdier stand?

To the fellow east coasters my monitor shipped on a Thursday and it was in Boston by that Friday. I had to wait for the following Monday for it to be delivered because DHL doesn't do Saturday delivery, at least in my area.

According to my seller, they all use exactly the same LG IPS display.

I ordered my QH270-lite from dcsamsungmall late Sunday afternoon. He shipped it on Monday and it arrived in San Diego yesterday at noon via FedEx. I'm impressed! For those who were asking, FedEx did estimate that it would arrive here on Thursday which seemed kind of late compared to what other people experienced but I'm glad it got here sooner. Monitor is beautiful with no dead/stuck pixels (a first for me when buying a new monitor) and works great with my antiquated 9600GT (not for gaming haha). The only problem was that the monitor had a slight tilt to the left but that easily remedied with a folded piece of paper under the stand.

Just received my Davi monitor from bigclothcraft about an hour ago. Looks like my "Perfect Pixel" display came with about 60 imperfect pixels spread about the bottom of the screen. I can only notice them when on a black screen but there are a shitload of them. Im going to try to exercise them and see if anything happens but I am quite disappointed. Not only do I have all of these stuck pixels but I also have a little nick in the material of the screen. I thought it may be something stuck to it so i scraped some of it off with a knife but it didnt help much at all. I would not recommend the Davi for the time being.

update: I also just noticed that I have a bright red spot on the middle right side of my screen that shows most prominently with a grey background. Luckily it isnt extremely noticeable but I am very dissatisfied with this monitor.

update: Just found another red spot. This one is not quite as bright.

I'd get with bigclothcraft to return this one at no expense to you. The product that was being shipped to you was obviously misrepresented. If you used a credit card, you might even consider a chargeback. That number of stuck pixels (are they stuck or dead?) is unacceptable and directly contravenes the claim of it being a perfect pixel monitor or having been reasonably inspected before being shipped to you.

I second that you shouldn't have to pay a penny to get this made right. If worse comes to worse and bigclothcraft won't make it right, go through ebay's buyer protection.

Wow, that really sucks. Hope you are able to return/refund it. Please keep us updated on the panel and the seller. As foop said, if you are unable to get satisfaction from the seller, definitely consider a chargeback.

That sucks.. I have one on order from Bigcloth... and am not sure what to expect now.

Can you confirm the screen is glossy or has an AG coating on it?

Thanks

How's the minimum brightness on these monitors?

I have the Shimian and it's pretty bright at minimum (though I have no scientific way of measuring it). I normally use Flux to control my screen color and brightness, which helps out a lot on this monitor since the brightness range is a little limited.

The pixels look like they are all stuck. They all show up as either green red or blue on a black screen. Cant really see them on any other color. Of course they are going to be most noticeable on either a black or white screen though. I am really glad they arent all in a tight bunch but there are quite a few of them

It is not a glossy screen. It has AG coating but it looks less agrresive than my dell u2011. The coating is not too bothersome and it does work pretty well to keep glare away.

Ill keep everyone updated on this situation.

I just took a thorough count of the bottom right side of the screen and counted 28 pixels stuck on various colors when the screen is black. There are many more but it is annoying trying to count them. I also found two pixels that are black when the screen is red and blue when the screen is white.

Just got both of my Davi 27s.. Did a DPT test on it, Panel #1 is 100% perfect, no pixels stuck or dead. And the color looks dramatically better than my dell 30" (which i expected).

Screen is matte, and with VS up, text is clean and crisp at 9 points, very pleased. The power brick sent was a 120 watt Welltronics adapter, and it stays lukewarm at best.

Just don't get too close to the screen looking for pixels, the damn thing will blind you.

Sucks that you received a bad one. :( Please keep us updated in thread on your progress with getting the issues resolved.

Many have complained with the other variants that the included dvi-d cable caused them lots of problems. You can try reseating it, or swapping it out, but in your case i suspect your problem lies elsewhere.

When you have a line of stuck pixels, it *sometimes* means one of the internal cables are loose inside the monitor, apparently several owners of the other variants had this problem. If you're feeling adventurous enough you could try to open it and reseat all of the cables. If that doesn't fix it then you either have a bad board inside or a bad panel, it can be either one.

Good luck either way.

Second panel has a magenta point about 1/4" in diameter (decently sized), its only visible when its black, and it doesnt look like pixels out, looks more like either the screen is pressed at that point, or the fluid is not distributed at that point. so 50% good, 50% bad. Time to send the guy an email and get it taken care of.

Got my Davi this afternoon as well. Took less than 48 hours from when it got picked up by DHL in Korea to getting to my door. Ridiculous. I can't find any dead pixels. I can't find any screen "spots" of color or varying brightness. I have two things of minor backlight bleed...very minor. I put some pictures on photobucket http://s1163.photobucket.com/albums/q549/taelen112/Davi 27in IPS/ The pictures aren't great, they are just what I could snap off. The monitor next to it is a 24" Samsung TN panel. You can see the huge difference in "vibrance" between the displays.

Anyways, 110V rated power adapter, it gets warm, I would say its 110F.

Sorry to hear about the above bloke with the issues. that sucks. i got mine from bigclothwhatever as well. Did your boxes say LED MONITOR on them? Mine did, so I'm assuming this thing is LG's LED Panel like the rest, except with their AG layer on it. My box had a HUGE hit to it, torn open, lucky for me it was the stand end of the box.

Speaking of the stand, its very stable, this thing is great, no lean, no offset. Height adjustment would have been nice, but whatever, I don't need it actually.

Yes, box says "Davi display D279SV-VGQ2 LED MONITOR" underlined

It was for a "perfect pixel" but I would say no one looked at the bad one because its hard to miss on black.

I got mine from bigclothcraft as well, but between EBay, Paypal, and my CC company, I'm not too worried, plus I would prefer to give him an opportunity to take care of things before getting upset or jumping to any conclusions.

There have been a lot of comments about bigclothcraft over on OCN just wrapping the monitor box in brown paper and no additional padding. I take it yall's Davis arrived in similar packaging?

Also, FML @ LED . . .
