Twitter and Facebook Lack Humanity?

Seems like anyone that already feels this way will probably appreciate it, and those that actively use twitter/fb already won't give it much thought. Just my expectation at least.

People who use Facebook don't use it to stay in touch with people. They use it to brag about something, gain pity from someone, or spread around useless crap. My wife uses it, and she 8/10 times gets depressed because other people brag about shit that we don't have. She doesn't keep in touch with people.
Skype, therefore, is just the more personal choice. You actually talk to people, that you WANT to keep in touch with.

So your wife's insecurities are FB's fault. Interesting.

Doesn't skype have a special deal to offer its services/capabilty within facebook?

Makes sense to me. Facebook is a nice way to keep up to speed with what some more distant associates and relatives are doing but it certainly isn't something I use to keep track of my more immediate family and friends. That's reserved for phone calls, dinners ... you know, actually talking to people.

Yup, I like the ad. I agree with scojer, that about sums up the Facebook experience. I refuse to use Twitter.

Cool. So basically, the way you, your wife, and maybe some of your friends use Facebook is automatically how everyone else uses it. Got it.

I prefer to think Facebook and Twitter users are not humans. That way I can still believe humanity isn't doomed.

You don't really need to be a legal person to have a Facebook account. How many times have we seen pages about fictional characters on FB (raise hand).

This ad campaign is fair game.

Damn you beat me to it. But yea Facebook is a tool. It can be used and misused. Some understand how to use it and some don't. That kind of concept tends to hold true for a lot of stuff.

So your wife cries about stuff you've never had? Interesting.

I guess you (or your wife) don't know the right people, that's all.
