Hey guys I have a pair of Ultrasone DJ1 Pro and they sound great. The problem is I don't like the noise they make when moved. It's a plastic creak type of noise... Not sure they are super comfortable either.

Do you know of any brand that won't creak ($140-200 range)?

Use: music (various but mainly trance & dance) on a pc or iphone.

Thanks

No I do not but I do know a brand that DOES creak: Audio-Technica ATH-AD500. The plastic body on this one does creak after a few months, and TMK the rest of the ATH-A(D) series is made of plastic too, so they will also creak after a while.

I would consider Beyerdynamic to be one of the top brands for build quality. They use (covered) metal headbands and metal adjustment hardware. Their velour pads also hold up really well.

Other than that, some of Sennheiser's more studio-focused offerings are quite sturdy. Take a look at the HD25-1 II.

Beyerdynamics are basically tanks. Audio technica's are well put together, but they arent exactly tough.

Well if you want to pick up a extra pair of headphones for cheap with stellar build quality grab the monoprice 8323's for $29 shipped. They are a oem of the Kicker headphones and everyone coments on how good the build quality is, and not for the price just in general.

Other recomendations are:
Brainwavz HM5, These are built like a tank.
Koss ProDJ100, These are similar to your headphones.
KRK KNS-6400, Also similar to yours these i know first hand are well build and very comfortable.
Fostex t50rp, The modders headphone. Sounds good stock but there are so many mods for these.
JVC HARX700, Love these headphones, Im sure they will creak eventually but mine haven't yet.
JVC HARX900, Same as the above. Both of the JVC headphones sound great.
And of course any beyers you can find in that price are well built.
