Tigerdirect... possibly. At least you'll be able to get an order in. If Newegg would allow me to just charge my card and be placed in queue to get the cards when they're available I would've definitely gone with them. I was playing the refresh game for 30 minutes before I gave up.

Well, I ordered an evga from tiger - do they sell over what they have in stock? if so I'll be pissed because I could be looking somewhere else to buy it.

Not really sure, but I just checked on my order status and it is now listed as "in process" so I can only hope that they're packaging them up now.

From newegg mine said packaging about 15 minutes after ordering. Processing usually mean they are looking for available stock or still processing your credit card.

TigerDirect is a little weird with their numbers, they are rarely accurate and sometimes go from in process to shipped instantly.
 
Looks like EVGA is out of stock at.TigerDirect now too. Or I just can't figure out how to use their mobile site. God damn it, how could these sell out so fast? Anyone know if Amazon has listed their stock yet?

Tiger Direct: "Order Status: Reg Order Process - Credit Card Verification Done. Your order is in process at our warehouse." - whatever that means, I ordered overnight at 10:15am... I will be pissed if they come back and say "sorry out of stock" this is one of the very few weekends I dont have to work...

I was about to pull the trigger at TG for the EVGA, but decided to call first. It looks like they're on backorder even though you can still order them, so FYI!
 
Fuck no, I just ordered one with overnight shipping. The website still says ships in 3-5 days. :(
 
Ordered 2 Asus 680's, called up customer service and they told me they're shipping tonight or tomorrow morning. Woot. :D
PS the eVGA are KR's so no lifetime warranty.
 
I'll be waiting for the 4GB model.

At 2560x1600 and high settings, X-Plane 10 already gets crazy close to 2GB.

Just called Tiger Direct (ordered evga around 10:15am) they said it will def ship tonight and will arrive tomorrow....

I believe EVGA changed their warranty so every model comes with a lifetime warranty?


Oh and to everyone buying these cards, EVGA has the FTW version posted on their website with the 4GB.

Nah they just changed their warranty so that it was transferable and didn't need registration. You get extras if you register but nothing like a lifetime warranty.
 
I called TigerDirect and was able to do the verification on the phone. Mine's shipping today.
They told me there are at least 40 on backorder so if you have any doubts, call 'em and try to push it through ASAP.
 
I'm going to wait until the end of the year. If it looks like nothing else is going to drop from nVidia, I'll buy a custom 680 from Asus or MSI.
 
Yep, got in a little late sadly.. Although, got the MSI version that I called about and is being shipped today.

The guy that answered the call was really cool too. Told me it'll be 1-2 day shipping even with ground shipping so no need to spend extra cash on it, due to where I live. It wouldn't let him change shipping yet so he just discounted it a small amount to keep it in ground shipping price.

Those of you with a Chase card, I think the Amazon 5% cash back may still going on (I just know the next offers start on April 1st), so you may want to order from there. ;)
Edit : Also you can get 10% on an Amazon gift card through them as well if you have enough rewards points, so possibly 15% savings in the end = $500 - $25 - $50 = $425! But again it's a real squeeze with time considering the 5% will end soon if it already hasn't, and I think they ship you physical cards as well, so that will add a few days.

(And this why debit cards suck and credit cards are awesome)

Had two in my cart, but on a whim, went over to see if they were on the EVGA StepUp list yet -- suprisingly they were. Got in queue for two of them (trading in my just-bought GTX 480s) -- I'm #46, 48 so expect I'll get mine pretty soon.

Don't think I've ever seen new cards pop up for StepUp this quickly...

Was just looking at my StepUp history... I paid $650 for a 7900 GTO back in 2006? :eek: Who said $500 was too expensive for a new card?

Fuck, same here at TD. OK so somebody help, what's the best thing to do here? Call and try to get a refund and then buy from the egg or Amazon? Has Amazon listed their cards yet? Should I call and try to get them to switch it to a different brand? Help!!!

If you show up as backordered call them up and they will "put you on a priority list" (what the CS told me). Anyway they said they're getting another batch (at least of Asus cards) this afternoon.

Has to be from Amazon.com - and your account also has to be "subscribed" to the cash-back programs they have. Anything you buy from Amazon then gets automatically added to your rewards balance (which is as good as cash from them since you can just get well... cash).

I bought a $500 item recently from Amazon and within 24 hours I had $25 added to my rewards balance.

I have the slightest idea why it's not showing in the Amazon search engine...but theres a direct link

Btw I used my Chase Freedom to get 5%....I contacted support asking if they can just charge the card immediately, cuz March 31st deadline is so close...and there could be a chance the cards might not ship and get charged on my CC....the rep said its not possible to charge my CC early...they ONLY charge once the item ships

So what he recommended me doing, buy an amazon gift card (electronic) and that way, my CC gets charged immediately....I get the chase promo....and my GPUs will be in line for shipping

Same. I did just manage to pick up the MSI model on Newegg though. Called up Tigerdirect and cancelled, shame because the guy I talked to on the phone was really easy to deal with and didn't give me any hassle with the cancellation. Would have preferred EVGA but I've never had any experience with MSI GPUs before so here we go! :D
