The Lian Li PC-700 Thread :-)

I like it.

Just curious - would it be a bad thing to go so far as to block the rear vent holes on a GPU? I ask because mine's an open shroud and it still dumps a lot of heat out the back.

I'm a little bummed that the best cases still need modding to achieve their best functionality. I know everyone has a different idea of what the "best" is, but you have to agree that the stock airflow design on this case leaves a little to be desired... It just leaves the door open for n00bs like me to attempt modding and screw up a nice case such as this.

I don't think u have to go so far as to block the vents, mine exhausts like half a pci slot if that, and there is space between it and the rear fan and the top two fans are nowhere near the gpu so that's plenty of fresh air. I feel the addition of a floor intake for the gpu is more important.

I have a feeling I'll actually end up in the V750 instead of the V700. The V750 is Not that much bigger and allows for another 140mm intake fan without modding.

The V700 measures (W) 210mm x (H) 400mm x (D) 496mm.

The V750 measures (W) 230mm x (H) 443mm x (D) 586mm.

First, let's take a look at how wide the V750 is. Its 210mm on the V700 vs 230mm on the V750. This means that you will potentially have more cable room behind the mobo on the V750 as it is 20mm wider.

Second, the V750 is defiantly more accommodating for EATX boards being an XLATX case, while the V700 is a mere ATX case. I practice you can squeeze an EATX board in an ATX case, but it might cover wire paths or cut down on the knucle install room as a compromise. Yet the V750 is still very small for being XLATX compatible.

Third, the V750 has more fan slots for cooling: Two front 140mm intakes, two rear 120mm exhausts, one top 120mm exhaust. If those two rear 120mm slots can take an H100... Sweet. If not, the H80 is nice too. More importantly is that I think there will be far better GPU cooling with this default fan setup. It's only on more fan vs the V700, but it makes a huge difference.

Fourth, the V750 still only has the one 5.25" bay, which is all I really need, perfect, and is only 44mm taller than the V700. For a tad more height you gain a valuable front intake.

Lastly, the air flow is more balanced and will be definaltly be positive pressure if you make the top an intake.

Overall, the V750 is still very much the same size of a V700, the only measurement that gives me pause is the depth... It's 90mm deeper. A total of 586mm deep, that's 23.07" for us Americans. But that may not be a bad compromise considering all of the above. And quite honestly, I'm not sure I want to mod a brand new V700 just to get another intake. I'd rather just acquire a case that has the cooling I need out of the box.

I posted all the specs for the v750 in the second post of this thread. No pics yet. It's close in model number so I expect it to resemble the V700 quite a bit.

The V750 does not come in all black interior with a window however. Just standard black or silver.

I think being able to build a high end pc with a small case is what made the A05 popular and the V600 might be the next A05 for the same reason. the V750 is big, its taller than both the A05 & the V600 and wider than full towers like the Armorsuit and the depth is insane (can't even find a model close to it's depth), Lian Li already have models smaller than the V750 with more fans and bays.

but lets wait and see how it looks, it might have a front door :p

The very popular FT02 and RV02 were deep cases as well. And they better not put a door on the V750... Why would u need a door for ONE 5.25" bay... Naaa I'm calling it, no door.

I do kind of wish the V700 had the totally perforated front fascia like the other cases in the V-series, but it still looks good as is. Can't wait for pictures of the V750 to surface.

So I managed to sell my Seasonic X850. This build will be graced with a Seasonic Platinum 1000 Watt... Heyyyyy-ooohhhhh!

... Ok so it will not change my world but it will keep it greener!

Well I sold my GPU, I'll rock an MSI Lightning Kepler, selling the M4EZ mobo too, going to build with a Maximus V Gene or Formula instead.

So judging by the video does anyone think there'll be a problem with the H100 in the V750? I have to say that V750 is definitely the way to go, looks like there's just more room all around and behind the motherboard.

and 2 new full towers

Thx for the pics. That's the 2nd photo of the A77FN I see on the whole Internet. That one and the B10FN model are the most interesting ones to me but now I'm thinking a 700 could be roomy enough...

A77FN seems to be internal frame from A77F (so no psu on top, more pci slots xl-atx), and front is from old A77 (minus lcd display that was on top).
A75 looks like one of the lancools (k-9), except it is full tower.

Nice pics. Always nice to be able to get a better look. I'll refer people here who ask.

I keep hearing about the H100 noise pump issue and I'm starting to think that maybe I'll go with the beefier performing cooler master H100-Like unit they're coming out with... It's an all-in-one but it's also customizable with standard fittings to intergrate into other loops and refillable. Comes with a pump like the h100 but looks stronger. Or I guess I could try my hand at custom water cooling but I don't really want that cost and the trouble. My old H80 was perfect but I guess I got lucky there are stories of people returning it three times. I'm not even sure I can fit a proper water cooling system into the v750.

Not sure how I feel about the location of the power supply. The case does looks nice though.

I know that I can fit a 360 rad in the V750 with a panel mod, but I wonder if I can do the same to the V700. Looks like a tight fit.
A 360 rad in the V700 would be awesome. I'll put a system LCD display panel in the 5.25" bay.

You'd have to compromise your one disc drive bay

Yep, that whole front HDD/5.25 assembly will be removed and HDDs mounted to the floor of the case.
Still not date on this? Q2 has been floating around forever, but still no solid date. Lian Li still hasn't added them to the official lineup.

how hard do you guys think it would be to mount the tool less pci bracket it a different brand of case

I thought about that and passed. The holes will have to be the perfect distance or it will turn into a big fuck up. Trying to line up the holes won't end well.
The easiest methods are either install it and then drill through the case into the plastic for custom holes, or call up a shop like performance-pcs and ask them to do a diagram sheet out of courtesy.

I would choose the former method.
