Borderlands 2 trailer

Already warned the wife not to bother talking to me like the 13th-16th. I'll be on and playing with my friends.

This is the game that I'm most excited for. Absolutely loved the original and I can't wait to play this. It's crazy how much a rarity it is to have split screen multiplayer nowadays. What an awesome trailer.

+1

My semester starts the week before. Straight C's.

I'm also ultra stoked for this game -- I can't remember a game in the past few years that I've been excited for. Even as a huge ME fan I can't really get terribly excited for ME3 (I'll play it over the summer)

This is a day 1 purchase for me.

Booo. Only DVD boxed copy available for Amazon pre-order right now . (Do they even offer pre-order for digital download versions?)

HOLY FRAG! I am so looking forward to this one. There shall be plenty o´ guns, cartoon shading and broiled skags.

Game looks awesome.. can't wait! The environments in particular look great. I hope the actual music in the game is not dubstep. The first game had a great soundtrack.

As much as I loved the game, I just can't bring myself to reward them with a day one buy after:

-Crap FOV
-Always on mics
-Painfully glitchy online play system
-Extremely consolized menus and a real lack of advanced graphics options
-Complete lack of any eyefinity support (I know it's not an issue to most but it is to me)
-Random crashes for a lot of the user base that took 6 months to patch after GB staff told us we just had bad videocards
-The shittiest ending ever

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the ending was hilarious. You play this huge, epic campaign and then you fight a giant vagina, receiving shitty weapons as a reward.

You got shitty weapons? I think the only thing I got was some ammo.

But really what difference did it make? You were done with the game, so why should you get "phat lewts" from the ending boss?

Something nice for the second playthrough would have been cool.

And then get DLC that moves you past it anyways.

So lets get a 4 pack going.

Arranging buys in the gaming forum isn't allowed, you need to take it to FS/FT, also it's not even available for pre-order on Steam yet.

You took the words right out of my mouth. This looks console'y as fuck. There for they can go get fucked.

That's why I'm going into this with some trepidation. I actually thought in the back of my mind "I wonder if I should just get this on Xbox?" because The PC version was literally broken. In the menu as I recall you literally couldn't see the last row of the weapon perks column and there was never a fix I think you ended up having to apply the user created config fix. This coupled with everything mentioned previously makes me wonder why the hell would I even bother to buy this on PC?

shit i don't even like dubstep but i hope that music is in the game.. needs something up beat because that was the one gripe i always had is that its a great game but after 30 minutes of running around the entire map(s) i was bored as hell.. game needs some friggin music and not some annoying elevator music you hear in a lot of games.

but as far as BD2, graphics look pretty much the same as the first.. no real huge improvements on that which is good and bad since i think they could of done a bit more to them. no more sniper,. zero looks sick but i always suck with melee characters so i'd fail hardcore with him.

yeah the FOV sucked, but i got use to it pretty quickly
i'm pretty sure i had my set to push to talk but i haven't played the game in almost 6 months so i can't remember.
online system worked fine for me, even though gamespy sucks i never had an issue with it really.
menus i agree sucked balls, but what was even more annoying then the menu was that i'd have to switch my mouse from 900dpi in game(mind you game sensitivity was set to the lowest possible setting), to 4000dpi just to move around in my backpack and other items.
can't comment on eyefinity but not surprising since its pretty much a direct console port
luckily i didn't start playing borderlands until they released the game of the year edition. but given the game looks pretty much identical to borderlands i'd expect there not to me to many issues.
and the last part of your comment is worth repeating 50 times over and is EXACTLY why i won't buy the game day one. pissed me the hell off that it took a whole 4 hours to finish the main story line, i mean really what the the hell 2k games!!! the main story lines 4 hours long yet to takes 4+ hours just to finish the stupid moxxi arena mission, what the hell were you thinking?
-The shittiest ending ever

That dub track would be infinitely more annoying after 30 straight minutes than the music in Borderlands.

sirmonkey, on release mics were permanently open, the only way to mute your mic was to disable it via the OS or unplug it. You missed a lot of crap by not getting it on release.

You can mute the mic by changing a setting in a config file. Unless you are talking about console.

Oh also if they use gamefuck or whatever it is DRM for this they can fuck off. That shit was painful to use and port forwarding. Why in gods name are we still using port forwarding!!!????

Ahh, yeah, I forgot about the config edit for it. Still though...anyone who thought an always open mic connection w/o an actual in-game option to shut it off was insane. It's just really clear evidence that they didn't give a shit about the PC release.

Seriously who actually just played the main story line? I hope you aren't implying that you ignored the hundreds of side-quests and vast areas to explore...

Honestly, I enjoyed this game more than anything I've played in years. They could put a copy of Pong in the Borderlands 2 box and I'd still pay.

The whole game style, art style, humor, etc, was so damn fresh and original. Hopefully the can recapture some of that in the 2nd one, it's hard to duplicate something like that.

no i did all of them, i completed every mission available in the game.. but what the heck is the point in having a main story at all if its only going to be 4 hours.. ya might as well just call it an open world game and just leave the vault as a normal mission that you stumble onto like the others in the game instead of forcing people to listen to that annoying chick telling you to hurry up and do the mission when theres absolutely no reason to do it at all.

yeah i just went back and looked at the old borderlands thread in the first few pages.. man am i glad i waited til the GOTY edition came out.. also saved me money on the DLC.

lol it was a direct console port and consoles the mic is always open, so it would of taken to much effort to add a push to talk option in the menu.

agree, the only problem i had was the colors.. for some reason i could never play for more then an hour at a time otherwise i'd get the worst headaches ever.

*Checks thread title to make sure this isn't the Skyrim thread*

Hope they have a difficulty toggle this time. That was my largest gripe about the first, just how easy it was. Every other gripe I had (FOV for example) could be fixed through 3rd party apps.

Hmm...Looks like it still has the weird texture streaming issues, even in the trailer. Graphics don't look improved at all.

Still, the first one was tons of fun so I'll get this one eventually.

Great another shitty dubstep song overlapping the trailer.

I don't know I guess I'll pick it up, the first one was good enough and it will fun playing with friends.

Enjoying the original quite a bit right now; still working through DLC and playthrough 2 with my brother. The iffy story and monotony of the game here-and-there haven't bothered me too much. It's more about blasting baddies and the never-ending search for better gear. Hopefully they can incorporate some new ideas to evolve the game.

Not a pre-order/day 1 buy for me based on all the problems mentioned during the launch of the original and my aged computer (though consolitis could help me out on that last point).

I"m excited for this, I really enjoyed playing online with friends. I hope it turns out.

I'll go so far as to say there is no way you completed every mission in the game in four hours. I easily have 10-15 into the game and I skipped over several side quests. Virtually any RPG is going to be short if you skip the side quests. It took me four-ish hours to finish BF:BC2, and about 6-8 to finish BF3, and I KNOW Borderlands has more material than that.

I bought the game on the 360 not long after it came out, so I can't really comment on the bugginess of the PC port. I will say not buying a game because it is a console port is only going to end with you not playing a single high profile game as most of them are suffering from consolitis.
