Ganesh,

What are the fan speeds? Because I can probably achieve those temps too if I run my fan at 100%. I have my top card at 80c and bottom at 70c on a session of BF3 because I limit my fan speed to 35% because it gets loud after. I have a larger gap between my two 7970s than yours too.

Fan speed are around 35 %- 40% while gaming. The room was cold yesterday during the temperature check.

Absolutely. Right now he has what appears to be the biggest e-peen around here. More power to him. Show it off until someone else gets a bigger one. All I know is that I ain't showering in the same bathroom with him.

lol!

I see quite a few people here with Razer Lycosa's. Do any of you have the issue where your keys seem to stick programmatically, not physically. Like in a game, you are strafing then all of a sudden you try and go another way and you are still strafing? you have to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in to fix.

If you have this problem, has anyone found a fix for this?

Thanks,
Coop

My first lycosa did it, my second lycosa did it, my third one is still unopened in the box. Razer actually did a recall of them a few years ago, and they claim that the problem no longer exists, but it does, really and truly it does.

Here is one fix for it, at least for the problem with the media touchpad in the upper right corner going nuts and muting your sound or skipping music tracks. Put a coin on the touchpad and leave it there. Stupid but it fixes that problem at least.

I remember reading that it all had something to do with wires shorting or something. Some people took them apart and were able to fix it.

So many icons...

if he had gotten another 2 30"ers it would be [H]ard. wasting money is not [H]ard, building badass rigs is. buying 2-3 times the computing power you need to run the games/resolution you have is a waste since it wont even be doing anything. i strongly suggest he gets another 2 30" monitors so that those other 2 7970s actually get some use.

Perhaps a couple more monitors are in his near-future? Honestly that thread pissed me off. I read the whole thing and seeing how ridiculously jealous some of the people in there were was just sad and hilarious.

No chance, I don't like multi-monitors for my gaming PC. Some people like staring at bezels, I don't. It would be different if it was a work PC.

I did multi monitor for a while and hated it too. I think a single 30 inch monitor is good

uhhuh yep

I was running three GTX 580s output to a 1080P prior to this. Before that, three GTX 480s. Before that, three 5870s. Before that, three GTX 285s. Before that...

shit son, the guy built a monster box. Let him be. I can't believe there was a thread trying to convince him to scale his build back. How is that [H]ard?

Yeah, I'm not sure what is with all the hate. Oh heavens, he exceeded the cost-benefit sweet-spot and spent 50% more for 5% more performance? And? This is the "post your rigs" thread. This is where we go to show off our stuff. If a guy drives up to a car club with a 700 hp Shelby, you don't rag on him for having too much car when he can only drive 70 mph, then tell him he should have bought a Prius.

Good on you, Adam. Enviable rig. Haters gonna [H]ate. You just focus on the [H].

You'll notice that I registered 8 years ago, but still remain a "n00bie".

There's a reason why and the comments in this thread reinforces it.

I hear what you have to say, People should leave their negative comments to them self, If you want to tri-fire 7970's its your decision, They shouldn't bitch your putting money into your rig. And none of their opinions are going to change that.

Come on guys make this a enviroment people will want to post their rig in, Not a flame war.

Nice rig Adam, just ignore the sour grapers and haters. If you have something nice there is always those people that will hate you for it.

Here's mine for now, a WIP 8TB+ Gaming/Storage Rig.

What's not in the picture the X25M (sold it, buying a 320 or 5"" series now), the 6 sticks of Mushkin goodness, few case fan's, 3rd card and a 4 Sata Port Silicon Image w/Raid 0/5/10 PCI express card. These are all taken out due to troubleshooting and recabling for 2xWD Black 4TB drives soon.

Anti-static mat came in today..The case is my Antec 1200 Which will soon be going under the knife CoolerMaster V6 GT will replace the stock cpu fan,and I'm getting ready to order a GTX 570-or 580 card to replace the 4870x2 that went out on me recently.

I'm also waiting on another case.
This
And gather more parts to begin my second system build.

Thanks, forgot to add it to my sig but its a 2500k @ 5.0, 12 GB Vengeance and 2 x EVGA 560 2GB SC Editions in Sli.

top notch rig. did you do the sleeving yourself?

the ssd fits perfectly where it's at. again, great job.

Yah, I did all the sleeving over the last couple of weeks, and my fingertips are burnt to a crisp! (paracord sans heatshrink)

Superb job. The wire management is great, even on the back side. :)

Thanks! I think I was more excited to sexy up the back panel than the front honestly lol. :D

You're saying that the sleeving is 550 parachute cord? Impressive Sir... I know what you mean when you say "burnt to a crisp". That nylon doesn't cool very quickly. A water soaked cotton glove on one hand ( or even a couple of water soaked cloth band aids on your fingers) helps to singe the ends.

indeed. and I'll be the first to tell you that paracord is a bitch to work with. looks beautiful tho.
good advice too, but honestly, after the first day, I couldn't feel the sting any more. (the liquified nylon is pretty hot. Every once in a while, I would let go of the molten paracord and there would be flecks of charred skin stuck in the plastic. :( ) lol.

UPDATE: Realized after I posted this that it probably was better suited for the Worklogs thread, as the build is a work in progress. Latest pic is below; I'll post a final layout here once the rig is finished. In the meantime, the work-in-progress pics can be seen here.

Hybrid Crossfire PhysX Gaming System
This is something I threw together from leftover parts from when I upgraded my true gaming system.(I just wanted to see if it would work)

Specs
Antec 300 (with 4 extra case fans)
I7 950 @ 4Ghz
12 gigs of unknown memory
3 TB storage
2 His 6950's unlocked in crossire with a unknown GTX 460 for deicated PhysX (I had to customize the the GTX 460 to fit in case by cutting the metal bracket in half and removing the fans from the card)
It gets it cooling from the power supply and airflow through the case. look at the pictures (Ghetto Mod)
I think I did ok with the wiring as the the Antec 300 does give you any headroom for hiding wires.

My True Gaming PC (I posted awhile ago but here is an update)
This is what it looked like before the update:

H3llsGamingRig-1.jpg

Specs:
CM Storm Sniper Black (All Red LED's)
Thermaltake TPG-1200M ToughPower Grand
CPU 2600k @ 5ghz
Asus Maximus IV Extreme
3 Asus 6970's @ 1Ghz/1525
16GB Cosair Dominator GT
2 1TB WD Caviar Black
Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Samsung 55inch 3D LED LCD

I fried my original 2600k (5.1Ghz @ 1.55v is a no no) luckily I bought the extra warranty from Microcenter for $40 and got a brand new 2600K no questions asked. The new one was able to hit 5.3ghz stable 24/7 @ 1.45v but after what happened last time I will stick with 5Ghz @ 1.38v

I dumped my 3 6950's in favor of 3 Asus 6970's to hit the higher clocks that the 6950's can't reach 1Ghz on the core and 1525 on memory stable and because I didn't have to get new water blocks 6950/6970 same card. ( I used 2 of the 6950's in my Hybrid Crossfire PhysX System posted above)

I also changed the memory to 16 GB of Corsair Dominator Gt's (The color really matched the theme of my case and the performance was an added bonus)

The real pain in the ass was changing the blue led's to red (I wanted to be able to turn off the LED's with the fan controller button on the case) since Cooler Master didn't sell the 200mm fan that works with the controller in Red I had to do it myself (3.5hrs of my life that I won't get back)

That's It for now. I'm not super rich so I'm going to chill out with the upgrades for now (Though I really need some SSD's in my systems and the 7970 is looking sweet but I already have the tech to play all the latest games at insane framerates) I going to wait till they are really reliable because my data is priceless.
