I see alot of people with the Corsair H100.

I have the Cooler Master V10. But in my opinion, its very big. If i want to change the memory sticks i need to tak off the V10. So im looking vor something smaller. Now i heard that watercooling is better cooling And i hope someone with theyre own experience to tell me why the Corsair H100 is better than aircooling. Or atleast i hope they wanna tell me :)

Many thanx

yes the corsair h100 would outperform your air cooler, by a modest margin.

water cooling does clear up the area around the cpu socket, previously taken up by large footprint coolers. It performs better because liquid is more efficient at removing heat vs air.

However just because you clear up the cpu socket area doesn't mean you will not clutter up another part of your case, as in the case of the h100 it comes with a 240 radiator, which uses 2 120mm fans. Some cases have room to mount one of these. If you do not then i would suggest the Antec 920 liquid cooler. Instead of using a 240 radiator, it uses a thick 120 radiator with 2 fans in push/pull. Antec also includes some pretty slick fan control/monitoring software.

good luck.

Thnx for the answer Duncan :)

My V10 keeps my AMD 6core (3.7Ghz) on 27C idel, but full stress its somewhere at the 40C
The V10 cools good enough, but its very big.
I have now an NZXT Pahantom white. Space enough. But i bought an old Alienware Area-51 7500 case and i want to mod it. So ill try to fit the coolers in it, its gonna be an half year project haha. Gonna be my first case mod. So its gonna take a bit longer.

Thanx for explaining :)

I just installed the H100 after reading the review here. ? I don't notice an increase in the fans speed when I go from 1 to 3. Is that because the in crease is negligible and at 39db max I'm not going to here it.One more ?,in the folder it shows a connection for a digital link, can I assume thats for software control vs leaving my case open for manual speed increases. If Asus's monitoring controls are correct I like where my temps are. Sorry one more question for now, does Intel still use their throttling down of the cpu when you don't need the power, I'm referring to the SandyBridge 2500k. I'm sure they don't "but".

When your CPU is idle the fans slow down. When it heats up with the fans on 3 you'll hear it, trust me ;)

Yeah, Intel still uses speedstep. If you haven't changed anything in the BIOS and still have your windows power settings on 'balanced' it'll still throttle down when it's not under load.
