Steam deal of the day. It's a very good game if you haven't played it yet.

To me this is the game D3 has to beat. I haven't played a iso click n loot fest I've liked more than TQ yet.

Having a problem with this. When I add it to cart it doesn't allow me to check out, stating:

"It looks like you have packages which overlap in your cart. You need to remove the redundant packages from your cart before you can checkout."

I remove it so that I have nothing, add it again, and the same message occurs.

EDIT: Apparently it's not just me. Other users are reporting the same problem. Hopefully Steam fixes it soon, I'd like to pick this up.

You're not having one of those moments where you're trying to buy a game you already own on Steam, are you? It's ok to admit it.

j/k It sounds like others are having the same issues on the Steam forum.

Lol...Indeed not. I have to admit, I did wonder that at first. :p

Plus, it wouldn't even let me purchase it as a gift, so clearly something is broken.

I spent many hours with this game a couple summers ago after picking it up on a similar steam deal. Well worth the price to curb your hunger as blizzard delays d3 for another 5 years...

Hah, I still remember collecting the Alexander legendary set so I could go around looking like a hoplite warrior and having some "this is Sparta!" moments while dual wielding. That was before getting to Act IV and realizing how ridiculously OP those Machai Grandmaster Archers were, then restarting and making a ranger build mimicking them (spread shot + exploding / piercing arrows).

If you enjoyed this game, make sure you check out Grim Dawn. It's being made by the creators of titan quest and is it's spiritual successor.

Looks like they fixed the checkout problem, as I was able to buy the Gold edition just now.

Thanks for the info. My son keeps asking for a TQ like game or more content for TQ but with Iron Lore out of business I havent been able to find anything. Hopefully they wont do the same anti-piracy method they used last time which killed sales on the game.

Hadn't heard of Grim Dawn before this thread...Now have that one in my list of things to keep an eye on for the future.

Game is worth every penny if you remotely like hack and slash. The graphics hold up as well. I've spent 400 hours playing according to steam. Also worth playing through again with the Occult mod.

Worth $5, for sure... decent time waster that reminded me of Dungeon Siege (1) which was one of my favorite oldschool RPG games of all time

Interesting. I've never played this myself, but I'm a huge fan of Diablo 2. Is this single-player only or multi as well?

Appears to have multi as well.

I've only played it for a bit, but it seems a lot like D2, which is a good thing since I loved D2. Should hold me over till D3, anyway.

It has co-op multiplayer, yes, and it's fun as hell.

If you like Diablo style click-n-loot games you will ADORE TQ. Even now several years after it's release the game looks stunning and there are so many items and different classes/masteries it has excellent replay value.

I'm actually replaying the game right now with my little brother co-op over the net - we're having a blast as usual. :D

Better than Diablo 2, has full coop, download community patch and skins mod, rot in heaven.

I send up getting this and from dust for 7.50 since i had one of those from dust 50% coupon... good deal

I tried this a couple of years ago and its no d2.
I remember the pics and the box.
All I saw was hours of running around killing little gangs of mobs.
I guess if you play days maybe something good happens.

just wanted to add it was titan quest gold edition that I picked up for $8 and it was $9 too much.

Normal isn't particularly interesting, and it's a bit pointless from a loot standpoint.

It's been a while since I last played, but whenever I made a new character, I did recall basically speedrunning through Normal to unlock Epic/Legendary. The good loot doesn't even start dropping until you play on Epic or higher. I think some of the boss are also limited to Epic and higher.

There is that mod program I linked earlier, which I'm sure has the ability to unlock the harder difficulties from the get-go.

I bought it today, and played for about an hour. I probably won't be playing anymore.

It's for the Diablo 2 crowd only. If you are like me and you've beat the ever living sweet fuck out of Diablo 2 more times than you can count, on every difficulty, with multiple mod versions as well as vanilla, then you owe it to yourself to get into TQ if you haven't already.

Another tip: TQVault to arrange and store your loot easily so it can be a central bank for use by all your characters.

$5...WTH....I'm in. LOL. Looks like some time killing fun. BTW, got in the D3 Beta. Not sure if I'm liking it. Either way, I will be buying the Collector's Edition for myself and my son. (Still have and play my 97 Barb from back in 2000, He is almost a teenager now.)

One thing I'm not a huge fan of so far is that you have to hit Alt or whatever to even pick up loot. I liked in Diablo 2 where you could still click it even if you weren't holding the "view loot" key, but if you needed to see what all was there you had that option.

Are the quests still bugged out in multiplayer? We had some sync issues where one person could hand in a quest, then others couldn't.

Another thing is, maybe I'm just retarded, but it seemed really difficult at the beginning to kill that first "boss" character (shaman or whatever it was). I had to burn off all my health potions, and even then I ended up dying twice. Only playing on Normal, so it seems like sort of a steep difficulty at that level.

Plus all of the cool "magic" loot I've found so far only works at level 3, and I got most of it when I was barely at level 2. I guess you just have to wait to use anything decent, lol.

Rubberbanding still a minor issue worse with xmax but imo not a huge problem, just a game engine quirk...

I forget quests in multi but I swear when one person hands it in it automatically gives it to everyone... google will help with that, or fan forums.

Game starts hard, gets easier, then later on (WAY later on) gets hard again especially if you play with xmax. The loot system is good, similar to D2 but with special rules about who can drop what (you can only get certain types of items in certain parts of the game, from certain groups of monsters) -- also tons of superunique loot with special graphic/set bonus/etc. The game is all about loot. Skin mod improves the enjoyment tremendously as well since there are like 150 skins and you can play anything you like from dark elf vamp wannabe to totally naked african Hercules impersonator.

Take your time and level up a bit as you go along, don't rush through the game as it the difficulty is heavily based on level and your current items.

- There's health regen shrine (it looks like one of those magical stone pillars from Skyrim) on the other side of the big boulders, south-southwest of the satyr shaman. You stand next to it, inside its "aura" to quickly regen health.

- Not sure how you're going about it currently, but you can try equipping a bow or staff and attack him from a distance. Dodge his staff shots and attack him in between them.
