Logitech Illuminated K800 or SteelSeries 6Gv2?

In your opinion, let me know

Depends what you are going to be using the keyboard for. Personally I do not like the feel of the Logitech Illuminated Wireless K800 keys. The keys feel a little toy-ish. On the other hand, I love my wired Logitech ultra-thin illuminated Keyboard. I’ve had no issues gaming with it and IMO an overall great keyboard. Not too sure about the Steel Series Keyboard.

i've had 3 steelseries keyboards (7G, 7G, 6Gv2) and all 3 had problems with "chattering" keys. that's when you hit a key and 2 letters appear on the screen. I never have that problem with other keyboards, just steelseries. it's a big disappointment because i love their design and i think their replacing the left windows key with their macro key for media control is the best solution and no one else does it.

I think they're probably both going to be good quality-wise, but I'd say the Logitech isn't worth its high price. These two keyboards are completely different by the way, so they're kind of hard to compare.

thanks for your inputs

yes they are difficult to compare but just wanted opinions of which you would prefer thanks!

hope that doesn't happen to me...

6Gv2 by far, but with that said I don't really enjoy mx black switches for typing when compared to mx blues/browns. Also the placement of the \ key and the large enter button bother me on the 6Gv2 (something to be aware of). The 6Gv2 is built like a tank and should last forever. My brother has one so I've used it quite a bit. If you do a fair amount of typing I would recommend considering a cherry mx blue/brown based keyboard. The blacks are much harder to press (feel springy) and are linear through their entire throw (no tactile feedback prior to bottoming out).

nice
I am using the 6Gv2 and it types like a dream but I do get occasional typos because the layout is slightly different than most keyboards due to the reasons you mentioned

Quality wise ? The 6gv2. It's a well made and durable keyboard. NKRO, good cable, etc.
using it every day ? The Logitech. Fuck that huge enter key, it isn't 1992 anymore. Not to mention that Cherry MX black isn't the best for typing.

I'd just go and get a different mech board instead.

hmm, which keyboard do you recommend?

I own the SS 7G and love it but I would take a look at the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate if I was looking for a new keyboard...

Overall? Steel series, by a lot.

But, its all preference. Lots of people on this forum will sacrifice quality for lights. If you want a better overall keyboard get the steel series. Blacks are a little heavy for every-day typing, but that just means another switch may be more optimal, that doesn't mean you should jump ship.

Also a few things to note about the 6gv2, the left windows key has been replaced with a 'steel series' key which helps access windows-media controls, the enter key is larger, the right shift key is smaller, and the \ key is moved. Most people dislike this because they are used to other keyboards. Overall its not a huge change, and superior in some ways. Personally I like the media keys; the right side is another story, but not a deal breaker.

Also, black widow ultimate is a step-down in quality from most mechanical keyboards, including the 6gv2. But, it does light-up. Again people are willing to sacrifice quality for lights. Also, consider if you would want blue-switches. Most people would prefer other switches for gaming(browns/blacks)
