I still only see two processor options for socket 2011. And of course the I7-3930K has been out of stock for weeks now, go figure right. So I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on when Intel plans on releasing some more socket 2011 CPU options? I have been so busy, I haven't had the time to keep up on the CPU news. So if anyone has some news or maybe some info on cpu releases, etc.

Thanks.

The C1 steppings have been depleted in preparation for C2. Release date for C2 is Jan 20.

3930K is still available in some places.

Tons of great deals on 3930k's on amazon

Is there any place where you can see "release notes" on each stepping?

When Intel releases a new stepping, do the motherboard manufacturers have to redo the BIOS (or EFI)?

Microcenter.com have the chips most of the time in stock. Check em out.

Also does C2 stepping add VT-d that works or are they just eliminating the function all together?

They don't include VT-d because Intel doesn't want to undermine their non-overclockable (locked multiplier) Xeon equivalents.
