just got this board and I love it, wil never go back to rubber dome keyboards again, all the major typing keys are mechanical, the macros are rubber dome but I can live with that, all the keys are lit individually and look great, I came from the sidewinder x4 and the difference is night and day, the x4 feels like a toy (cheap). If you can live with rubber dome macro keys id highly suggest this keyboard.

Congrats man. I played with one of these at Fry's earlier, the build quality is pretty damn good. The aluminum finish is nice and the rubberized wrist rest feels great. Enjoy your purchase :)

I've been using it for about 1 week and it does feel much nicer than the regular dome keyboard. Only if Corsair make all keys cherry red switches and add and LCD like the Logitech G15/500, I will pay over $200 for it no question asked.

agreed, i was hesitant to buy this at first because it wasnt fully mech, but the dome (macro) keys feel pretty good, and the way it looks with the lights off makes up for it, while im not a pretty light whore I think it manages to look classy instead of gaudy. This is my first mech keyboard so I have no frame of reference other than comparing it to a membrane keyboard, all I know is that I feel like i can type faster now (maybe in my head) the palmrest is comfy, and well build as well.

I know you wouldn't go back to rubber dome keyboards, but the K60/90 are oxymoron's to begin with.

Thank you for the highly constructive input. Congratulations on being "that guy".

LOL. Thanks for the laugh.

On another note I just ordered one of these and it should be arriving later today. I'm eager to try this bad boy out.

Lets us know how you like it, my buddy Nathan ordered one after using mine, it really is a nice keyboard.

Hey OP (or anyone)...

How's the light bleed from the individual keys? I saw this picture and it worried me a little

Pictures of the low, med and high settings would be greatly appreciated if you have the time.

I'm really interested in this keyboard.

Huge lighl bleeding becuase the keys are 'raised' for easy cleaning, but to me, it just looks sloppy. Bleeding everywhere! I have the K90, BWU and 6gv2.

calling it light bleed is like calling the drain in your bathtub a design flaw, its made like that purposely, the light hits the back of the keys which in returns reflects off the aluminum finish, i dont have a camera but heres a link to a review that shows how it looks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z41fLzviKK0 skip to 12:15 to get a good view. Personally I really like the way it looks.

Well I don't know what you call it then, perhaps there's a better word for it than 'backlight bleed'. I don't know, but I know by looking at it right now, that it even if it was a design choice, it's not something that floats my boat. I like a cleaner look and the K90 just seems too busy in my personal opinion. It types just fine though and the wrist pad and volume knob is a nice touch.

To each their own.

So I got mine today and I must say I really like it. The K90 has some weight to it so it doesn't move around at all (a problem with my last keyboard during intense gaming sessions). I actually really like the raised keys for easy cleaning and so called "light bleeding" doesn't bother me in the slightest. The wrist rest is the best of its kind on any keyboard I've ever owned (not saying there aren't others just out of the few brands I've had mind you) and the volume knob is indeed a nice touch.

Very pleased with my purchase so far.

Yah, I also like the Window's lock button which is cool. It types really well, I'm glad you are enjoying your purchase!

glad to hear you like your board, I like the palmrest alot too, feels so comfortable. A little off topic, I go tthe Razor Naga molten edition in yesterday, I was on the fence about purchasing it but as of right now Im glad I did. It feels pretty solid and I actually like the macro keys on the side, (now i just have to wait for guild wars 2) . While I do beleive I will use my G9X as my primary mouse Ill def use the naga for mmo's.

Think I'm gonna get this. Now I know these cherry mx reds are suppose to be on the low end of force for mechanical keys but do they require more or less force then a non-mechanical keyboard? My pinky always gets soar hitting shift modifiers on my logitech illuminated keyboard and I was hoping mechanical keyboards would save me from carpel tunnel. My other concern is with size I like to put my keyboard on my lap and play a lot is that gonna prove real awkward with this big thing?

Ltor:

I can't say for sure as I don't own it, but to my fingers brown switches were lighter than the standard dome to activate, and reds are supposed to be lighter yet. For the mechanical keys on this board then you should get lighter hits, It should be noted though that longer keys like shift have stabalizers in them and you have to experience it on the board itself to know it's effect as they do add a little resistance (as is required for them to keep the key in place).
