Oh, and the sapphire card already have a 4/5 egg rating, with such gems as:
"Giving it 3 eggs because so far I dont know how it is but knows AMD and Sapphire Tech, it should be an amazing card!"

Speaking of Amazon, I wonder if my submission to their "see a lower price?" feature of newegg's link before helped get 'em down, haha.
I did the same to all the Amazon 7970 postings the instant they posted them on their site. The more ppl do it, the better.
P.S: Plenty of Diamond 7970s jut showed up as well, and they have a 5 year warranty.

Probably most likely there is an employee unpacking the skids and then entering the stock inventory one by one ... and these cards are selling out faster than he can unpack!

Funny thing it's shipped from their TN warehouse for me, which is next day anyway.

I also just picked up 2 Sapphire cards from Newegg. I didn't want the XFX because I'd have to go out and buy a DP adapter in addition to paying $50 extra per card for a mediocre heatsink slapped on a reference board.
I don't really like the classic dustbuster design heatsink, but I figure for the extra $50 I'd have paid to XFX I can get an aftermarket heatsink easily enough in the future since this is a reference designed board.
Now all I need is a Ivy Bridge CPU to slap in my motherboard and I'm set for the rest of the year.

i had a reference Visiontek 4870 and it was a solid card (though wouldn't budge an inch for overclocking). this early in the game just about all the cards are coming straight from AMD and of the same quality. i'd buy a Visiontek card but there are several vendors i'd buy from first. not sure about their CS or warranty support since i never had to use them.
Only thing I'd be worried about is its not actually shipped out of amazon, but rather from a thirdparty "MYTHLOGIC." Besides it being a little over msrp at 589, I'm not sure if anyone's had experience with that company and can verify whether they'll ship now or later.

Oh God I can't wait for my XFX and PowerColor to make love to one another... and to sell off my noisy 6990 and 6950's. They have been good to me, but I shed no tears, the old die off and evolution must continue!
Was wondering that myself. The last VisionTek card I owned was a GeForce 3 Ti 500. From what I've been able to google, if you get it, it seems you should make absolutely certain you register it with them/keep the invoice/whatever.

i had my card shipped to my work. my UPS & Fed Ex guys just leave shit on my doorstep, which is nice for low-cost items but no good for high-cost stuff.
