During a natural disaster are you really going to worry about your game library?

Heck yea! Where I live it we can have up to 6 hurricanes a year that flood out certain areas, knocking out the same power lines every time. And don't get me discussing snow storms with acres of nothing but pine trees across the state. We get back our electricity within the first 5 days usually, but no internet for up to 2 weeks.

Try staring at your 292 game Steam library for 2 weeks thinking... Is there a way to hack this to get it to authorize? Maybe this time it will like me. Yep, if I click Offline Mode this time an angel will feel sorry for me.

RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

I live in North Carolina btw.

I live in New England, I've had this happen a couple of times myself. Most recently with the October snowstorm. Never for that long thankfully but it is very annoying and and issue that Valve should really address.

Amazon did a much better job then the competition this year. This turned out to be a great sale for me. They either matched a price or did better then the competition. Maybe they will return again with good offerings next year or as a competitor during the summer sales.

wow, went to the direct download game page, saw Dragon Age II for $5.99 and though it's not my flavor for a game, I figured it would be worth it just for the graphics. They applied a promo code and that make the final coat $0

Pretty hard to pass on a free recently released PC game title when it is Free { 8^ D

also, have to agree that Amazon out-did Newegg, ans all but Geeks.com (currently offering a MSI 460 GTX 1GB OC Cyclone for $112 shipped)

I think he means a storm or something knocks out power/communication, and you'll be bored out of your fucking mind since all (most) of your games activate via steam.

Not like Katrina level of natural disasters.

what promo?

Have promo codes started to work?

Negative. I'm on EST, it's 1:46 PM. I placed an order 1:19 AM - the promo code said it's already been used (???). I chatted with an amazon rep about it and she said it's applied automatically. So I went ahead with the order.

Yeah... took the full price out of my gift balance. They operate on PST. Had to call software support to cancel it.. and will reorder it in about 1.5 hours if they don't change their price.

Yeah, my 4 codes just got wasted because of this crap. It now shows them as used. Have contacted support through email. Hopefully they will give me my $20 back.

1 hour 10 minutes to go.

They also said it'll take a few days for the order to be cancelled.

ah well.

I actually tried applying the code...it said the code wasn't valid or something like that...so I clicked it again, and it said coupon has already been used

blah...I hope midnight pacific time will cure all things

FYI, that $5 off promo code wont apply to dragon age 2 . says "This code cannot be applied to this order.
Check your coupon for more information."

That's because it is still December for Amazon.com. It should start working in about 30 minutes from now.

yup! thats exactly what it said...now try applying it again, and it will say "coupon is already used" or something like that...its not just dragon age

Meanwhile most (if not all) titles go back to being full price...

Of course, of course.

Screw it, I'm going to bed.

i have a feeling this will be the case...but hopefully i can snag a copy before the computers update the pricing...i'm camping out for now

So wait, are you forced to use Origin with these? Or will the work on steam?

I have no plans of using Origin anytime soon.

There is only one EA Game that requires the install of Origin.. And its not on that list. Steamwork games however require Steam..

I am waiting 8 more minutes to snag the 19 game bundle. Have $60 worth of codes. So spending $30 to gift out 19 games sounds promising. Let's hope that fucker doesn't go back to $280 or some crap lol.
Also hoping codes are not game locked. Amazon has history of codes being able to be used with anything lol.

yup, all the games are back up in price...so that $5 promo is pretty much useless...the only way i can see it being useful is if Amazon during the middle of the month has a special publisher sale...and they discount the prices of certain titles...then you can add the $5 promo on top to make it even more slick...but paying almost full pop for titles then minus $5...not so hot

lol what a bunch of whiny bitches, you paid 5 bucks for a 20 dollar game and get a discount code for another 5 off select titles and your crying about the price of the select titles.

Did you really expect to "buy one, get one free"?

i see they dropped the price for BF3 to $29.99...so for those who have the $5 coupon, brings it down to $24.99...not too shabby I guess....this doesn't include the back to karkand DLC just be advised

lets see if they drop any more prices for other games

So wait, people actually consider if a game will play through Steam or Origin before buying it? That's plain silly.

Oh yes, this was a huge issue when BF3 came out a few months ago. Lots and lots of people refused to buy it because OMG, they'd have to install Origin.

It is ridiculous but we have tons and tons of crazy people in the games forum. Stay away.

Yeah, you can't even apply the $5 coupon to the DLC so if you want to play with everyone else it's $40.

The only games you can apply the coupon are these I think some of you have the misconception that you can apply it to any game. Won't happen, however look at the list you can pick a few freebies using the 5.00 promo codes (which are apply automatically by Amazon).

Does anyone know if The Witcher Enhanced Edition - Directors Cut [Download] activates on Steam?

That is the cheapest game aside from BFBC2 Vietnam, which is $2.49 with the coupon. I don't see any free titles?

Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition is 4.99 applied code = free
Looks like they remove the total war pack which was 2.49 before the coupon (another freebie)

I see that now. Does this activate on Steam? I can't seem to find the list of games that do.

Thank you! Doesn't look like Assassin's Creed will activate on Steam. I am planning on gifting this to a friend. I can just send him the CD key, however, will be actually be able to download the program from Amazon's downloader?

Or does Amazon download service offer a storing and gifting function like Steam Inventory/Gifting?

Ended up buying DNF for 5 bucks after code, at least for nostalgia's sake.

Don't think they have a gift system like Steam you're going to have to give him the key and access to your account to download the game ( unless you download it and burn/send it to him), or look for a torrent and have him used the legit key.

Also Rome: Total War - Gold Edition is $2.49

Thanks for the reply. That seems like a lot of a hassle, so in the end I might just skip it.
