Skyrim Modding Megathread

I just noticed that in my current play through, i have not seen a single courier. Anyone ever seen this?
edit: never mind, i'm too impatient.

Hmm, using that causes my game to crash to desktop...

EDIT

Nevermind. I pasted that into injFxaaSettings.h instead of UserSettings.h. I'm not seeing any differences when I switch between yours and mine. Does injFxaaSettings.h overwrite UserSettings.h? I tried deleting injFxaaSettings.h and that crashed my game too.

Maybe reinstall the FXAA injector? I haven't had any crashes (so far) from any of the custom .dll's floating around.

Yeah...I decided to completely re-install the game and mods.

Would you mind posting your injFxaaSettings.h file?

Any new texture improvement mods/skins recently?
It's tiresome trying to sort through Nexus, it feels like people just put their mods in whatever category they click first. lol

I find the Nexus is pretty organized. Also, this thread is littered with recommendations. There are worthwhile mods popping up all the time.

Can anyone post their findings of applying the Skyrim HD - 2K Textures Pack after having a few other mods installed before?

I'm concerned it will mess with these mods:
Vurt's Skyrim Flora Overhaul
HD Sunglare v3
Realistic Water Textures 1.6a
HD Road Signs by SPARTAN
Realistic Smoke and Embers
Realistic Rain Ripples
Enhanced Night Skyrim v04
Lush Grass
Lush Trees

Here are some screenshots I captured in the Riften area:

Does anyone know how to get 4GB, SKSE, and FXAA to play nicely together?

I was wondering at least part of the same thing.

The SKSE folks say it works just fine with Wench's 4GB mod (and presumably they'll have it set up to work for the offical LAA when Bethedsa puts out)...so to use it do I just keep firing up the 4gb shortcut with the skse files properly installed and go about my businmess or is there some other way that I have to do it?

The 4GB mod works for me, without FXAA. I tried copying exes and dlls over to the EXES folder but nothing worked. I'm back to a vanilla installation, waiting for a fix. My game won't load without the 4GB mod, crashes during the load screen. I would like to play using FXAA, although I guess it's not absolutely necessary.

SKSE is a whole other issue, I would really like to be able to use this for SkyUI.

EDIT

Okay, I managed to get FXAA and 4GB to work, but I had to revert back to 4GB v1.4. Now, lets push it and try getting SKSE to work.

EDIT

Okay, with the latest version of SKSE all three work together when using the "skyrim4gb.exe." Finally....

Yup, not too tough. This assumes you're using the most recent version of 4GB. Just make sure you put the files for FXAA both in the "exes" folder that 4GB creates as well as your main Skyrim install folder.

I'm sure some of the files need to be in one and some in the other, but I know just having all of the files in both locations works just fine.

How about just SKSE and 4GB?

Also, i find Duel - Combat Realism made my 2handed mace pally way more fun.

Nice! I just started a mace and shield cleric build over the weekend and was kind of disappointed by combat with a shield. This looks more like how it should be. Seems like it might be a bit OP out of the gate, though. Watching the video, it seems to give you capability with a shield that should probably be reserved for having a good number of perks invested into Block.

Here's a youtube video on this one, since the video link at Nexus doesn't work. These are good ideas, should've been implemented this way from the start. Only thing I don't like is that blocking shouldn't eliminate all damage, that's something that ought to be improved as you level, which is how it is now.

Yeah, maybe not a 100% reduction in damage, but I do like how it saps Stamina...more realistic that way.

Maybe start with a 75% damage reduction from regular attacks and 40% reduction from power attacks with no points in Block and 100%/90% (5/10%/level damage reduction from regular/power attacks and like 50% reduction (10%/level) in Stamina loss with 5 points in Shield Wall.

However, with as much Stamina as blows currently sap, it really reduces your offensive output by making you unable to use power attacks, so it might be decently balanced as it is.

Lol so i just realized last night that the "Filter" text on SKYui is for searching your inventory. Fuckin awesome.

Yup. Bethesda should probably put him on the payroll.

Well, it's a few people. But yeah, they should snatch them up quick and fire anyone currently working on UI because they've been able to do in a month what Bethesda couldn't get close to doing during the whole development of Skyrim. Can't wait until they get the rest of the menus "fixed".

You seem to be assuming that the person who "created" the UI had any say in how it would work.

What confuses me is why they didn't at the very least start with the inventory system of Oblivion?

Then they went full retard.

Yes, yes they did. But i want to know WHYYYYyyyy

Also, regarding the Lush Grass and Lush Forests, i haven't seen any loss in fps... and it looks and feels so much better as you're walking through the wilderness.

Lush Trees, right? I couldn't find Lush Forests.

They're great. Using them now. :)

Agreed. I just installed Trees, with the other two already installed and my system went to a craw. FXAA + ENB + All HD Textures is giving my GTX 260 a run for it's money.

with uGridstoLoad=7, landshadows and treeshadows on it's really awesome! Haha... My 5770 is getting tore up though :(

My GTX 470 seems to be handling things fine: ugrids at 7 (+ other ini tweaks), FXAA, and lots of texture mods. Markarth gets a bit choppy though.

I can't wait for the CK to come out. I think I'll add a cavern to my Markarth home with a small waterfall/pond/garden area. :) Oh, and a large storage room!

BTW, is there a way to get my house carl to wear what I give him while he is doing stuff around the house? He switches over to the new gear (ebony) when I give it to him, then when I re-enter my house he is back to his steel armor.
