Can't decide between the 23" and 27" models...both are 1080p. What do you guys think?

Easy question.

27.

I guess you could debate the lesser cost of the 23, or that it has a finer pixel density if you are close enough to lick the monitor.......but the 27 is more immersive. If that doesn't justify my answer, then nothing will and you might as well get a 23.

I am holding out for a 30" 3d monitor myself.....would prefer the 2560 x 1600 resolution

Its just that in terms of resolution it seems sometimes we are moving backwards. I mean we used to see 1920 x 1200 and now its 1920 x 1080 (i guess for 1080 standard)

Also, i wonder if they can make a ips display in 3d? Its just that TN is cheaper but.....seems like the quality isnt as good.

yeah its a toss up because of finer dot pitch on 23 i guess.....but i would actually have to see the monitors to make the choice. I mean who wouldnt want the 27 but Its just that sometimes the larger monitors see the jagged edges more. Nice to have smoother look in pictures.

I wonder if the samsungs are TN or IPS?

But if you think about 3d performance and how it pretty much cuts your frame rates in half......i can see why maybe they dont do that......I mean to get 60 fps you need 120fps....so youd need an awesome video card and system to keep up.

I would recommend the 23" due to faster response time and superior pixel density. It may not be as "big", but you're getting a much higher quality picture.
23" @ 1080p = 95ppi
27" @ 1080p = 82ppi

Crosstalk is even a problem on TN panels. I doubt that a slower IPS would perform as well as a TN in 3d.

I doubt the 23" has any noticeable advantage in input lag and the picture quality on the 27" has been stated in almost every review for it as producing among the best 2d picture available for a TN panel. The only reason I would go with the 23" is if you can't afford the 27".
