General Electric Co., through its healthcare IT business, and Microsoft Corp. today announced plans to create a joint venture aimed at helping healthcare organizations and professionals use real-time, systemwide intelligence to improve healthcare quality and the patient experience. Upon formation, the new company will develop and market an open, interoperable technology platform and innovative clinical applications focused on enabling better population health management to improve outcomes and the overall economics of health and wellness.

I wonder if this is related to the EHR effort? There's some big bucks to be made for EHR.

MS has so far failed to have a player in the tablet market. How bout Window 8 on a tablet with EHR software? That could be a huge moneymaker and establish MS in tables

Awesome! Software rockstars that have no clue about the best way to create a system for health care. What? Microsoft can help program it too? Pass!

"Ok, Mr. Johnson, says here you are getting a breast enlargement today!"
"What?"
"Oh, whoops. Jenkins! How many times have I told you no MMO's on the medical equipment! Ok, so...damn it! BSOD! WTF! Hold on Mr. Johnson I have to take this over to the IT department so I can access your records."
"Uh, Ok..."
6 hours later....
"Ok, Mr Johnson, sorry that took so long....so, it says here, you're hemorrhaging internally...Mr. Johnson? Wakey Wakey Mr. Johnson! Nurse?! What did you give Mr. Johnson?!"
"He died 5 hours ago doctor."
"Oh...well...Jenkins! Show me how to start up that MMO again!"

As though doctors and nurses are better qualified to develop software. Here's a novel idea. Developers can actually talk to doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals and design a system together! Amazing!

And MS has awesome developers. Balhmer made it so what with the sweating and chanting many years ago.

Balmer and M$ are screwing the pooch right now. This may be their last chance (by riding the government gravy train) to regain the huge lead they've given up to Apple IOS and Android in the emerging tablet marketplace

Right. Apple's only lead is with IOS, but using words like government gravy train make you sound cool and educated.

150,000,000 windows 7 licenses sold to date. MS is the fails, and they are the suzors..

Fun fact iPod touch is one third of IOS sales.
