Battlefield 3 DLC Trailer

Did I see a fucking hover jet?! I could be wrong, but if that's the case !!!!!!!!!

And why not? BF2 had 1 expack called Special Forces for $30 (had 9 maps and tons new vehicles and weapons), and 2 "Booster packs" (aka DLC) called EuroForce and Armored Fury that each had 3 maps, a couple new vehicles and weapons and cost $15 each. All this was in 2005-2006 before COD made DLC ubiquitous.

Actually, from what I read, theres a bunch of new weapons too in the exp. pack

$$$

I am not sure if I agree with holding game content hostage for money unless you agree to buy the game before it's even released. Not all consumers are going to gobble up what EA sold them.

I played the game for several hours last week, then switched back to BC2 and skyrim because of the horrific amount of aimbots, wallhacks, and general game/battlelog bugs. I'm glad I only wasted $30 instead of the $60 they wanted for the game before release.

I voiced my reservations on this and other internet forums, and was greeted with a chorus of "it works perfectly fine" and "battle log is great". Now that I've googled my issues and found others having the same problems, it seems like people were either lying to me or to themselves about the quality of the game.

In my hours of play, it became clear to me that EA does not give two shits about balance, community, quality assurance, and (with the re-release of old maps for $15) continued support of the game. Unless, of course, you keep tossing them money.

The EA Defense Force doesn't share my opinion, I'm sure, but I know what I expected from the game and it has most certainly not delivered.

There are very few cheaters on PB protected servers. I have yet to see any in 70 hours of play. Maybe you're just bad? I'm anything but an EA fanboy (they have screwed me 6 ways to Sunday), but at least my reasons for hated are valid.

i basically stopped playing bf3 to play skyrim. i think i have a lot completed in skyrim, maybe the expansion pack can pull me away. also the last update brought 3d support which is double win.

It's been a while, but are the battleships still usable in terms of using the guns and moving it closer to land?

ship movement stopped in BF2, and I believe there was only the carrier.

mmmm...Wake.... GOOD TIMES! (hold that airfield ffs!) ;)

I cant wait to try it myself. I've been caught up with training my new team for UMVC3. Strider, Vergil, and Ghostrider FTW! My fingers are sore from playing so I think I'll take a break and get back to BF3.

I really hope this fixes my artifacting issue.

enemy submarine spotted!! oh wait we are in the middle of a desert...

Ihaven't seen mayhem like that since the old BF42 CTF days, looks good. CTF would be sweet.

 Funny that people who actually enjoy playing the game rather than endlessly bitching about the politics of it on forums need to be given a deragatory name.

Really?

I was playing with a friend who was cheating on a PB protected server. I know there are plenty of working cheats because of the screenshots he sends me and how I can follow him into a room and he headshots three people with pistols before they have time to think. He uses Artificial Aiming, which doesn't get automatically detected. You basically have to have someone from dice directly observing you to get a ban.

He's been using AA for a long time, and was able to quickly point out what types of hacks others were using. It was a real eye-opener. Most people who were cheating weren't going 55-2 (although there were a couple of those every so often) because they didn't want to make it obvious, but they led the boards pretty much constantly and never stuck around more than 2-3 games.

Politics? Aimbots, bugs, wallhacks, and balance issues are not political. Those are from the actual game.

Why would you wait for DICE to ban someone? The server admin should be executing bans. DICE makes the game, they don't run the servers. Theres never going to be a game that is completely free of cheaters. The goal of an anti-cheat program is just to bring the amount of cheaters down to a manageable level, which is what punkbuster does. I have yet to see a cheater in game. If they're cheating in an unnoticeable way, why care? Let them use their crutch.

I have played battlefield 2 with their explansion, but only single player. So this is good new for me.

I would say "welcome to the world of modern online gaming" and find reputable gaming community servers, like Tacticalgamer.net (TG) but you seem more interested in complaining about the game than giving it a fair shake.

I was very upset with this game, until I upgraded my hardware. Now I cant wait to get on every night, get on Teamsynch chat with my TG brethren, coordinate attacks, and win even when we might lose.

The Limited Edition DLC was included in the latest patch for BF3 PC version, and I am drooling for it to go live. I miss the old Wake Island, and Karkand days.

Having spent my own money on the game, I have a vested interest in its success; my only wish is that EA would indicate that they feel the same way.

I understand your desire to make the best of it and join a community that is willing to step up and try to fix where EA hasn't bothered, but I'd really just prefer to have a polished product instead.

I'll check back in on the game in a couple of months when they're done with development.

I own BF3 on PS3 since most my friends own a PS3 console.

I have been playing these new "classic" maps, and I can say they are very well done.
These maps are probably even better then the main BF3 maps.

This maps are a nice addtion to BF3. :D

So your complaining about cheating but then codon following scum into a server to watch him cheat?

You need to play on more than just a PB enabled server, you need play on community servers that stream to an AntiCheat community such as PBBans or GGC.

PB alone issues kicks for the majority of detections, a server that is streaming to an anticheat site will take those detections and add them to a master banlist, along with players that are detected running cheats either through MD5 scans, or PB screenshots. GGC also accepts demos for BF games. In short just having PB enabled isn't enough.

It's not a perfect system, as evident by the huge cheat market, but as long as people with more money than skill drive the market, there will be the cat and mouse game that is AntiCheat.

People cheat, period. If you do not believe that, I have a bridge for you buddy!

LANs are the only place to know who you are playing is legit. Can't cheat with people looking at your screen. At least it is much more difficult.

New maps ftw!

Even if it wasn't free for me, I wouldn't have a problem dropping $15 on them. They're reimagined with destruction physics, not just ported maps like mw2 and 3. The sheer size of the maps are harder work than tiny maps also.
