CM9 w/ ICS: Is It Coming to Your Phone?

I'm happy my N1 is getting it - hopefully this should tide me over until I can find a suitable replacement (GSM Galaxy Nexus please..)

im already running cm9 alpha 11 on my nexus s. ICS is goddamn amazing

Yay, Atrix is getting it!

edit: NM still no love for atrix.

Same here, had to take it off due to battery life sucking

really? i havent notice that much difference with battery although i have been using it a lot less since i installed it (all around busy)

its lasting 12 hours off charge for me so far since ive flashed, but again i am not using it as much as i did a week ago. ive read similar complaints, once i start power using it again i should be able to get a better idea.

It would be funny if they tried to port it to my original Droid. Gingerbread is already a slide show on it for the most part. ICS alone would prolly saturate its RAM and render it useless.

Ginger bread will last me ~ 1-1.5 days, i'm lucky to make it 3/4 of the day with any ICS installed (as much as i love it)

i hear that, i was getting similar results with gingerbread too before i put CM7 on it. going from that kind of run time to 3/4 of a day wouldnt fly with me either. hopefully they get the bugs worked out in some future releases. i may leave cyanmod completely, i was a bit surprised it used more battery then stock gingerbread. wasnt enough to uninstall for me yet

All the ICS roms have the same battery issue, my assumption is kernel could use some work.......

Using Oxygen rom right now, and loving it.

Even though my Droid Charge has Exynos and an unlocked bootloader, I'm not so sure we'll even get CM9 since we didn't even get CM7. The RIL issue and the lack of source code from Samsung is making things difficult. But I'm really looking forward for my Touchpad to get CM9 though.

+1

From the videos that are out of ICS on the G2 it appears to work even better than the stock ROM we have. Things like landscape without having the keyboard opened or MMS messages that won't load as anything but slideshows for instance.

The wife has declared her G2 off limits, but mine will definitely be getting some ICS love. :D

Thunderbolt is rumored to get some CM9 love at some point. Problem is lack of developers. Slayher does damn good work (CM7 is pretty nice on TBolt) but he's busy with work right now (Navy) so it may be longer for CM9 to grace TBolt then any other devices.

Using alpha 11 on my Nexus S as well. Previously I was using NSCollab and Nexus MV, both with Matr1x and GlaDOS kernels.

I don't use my phone much for anything except as an ebook reader. I would have said the stability of the alpha 11 is good for everyday use but it rebooted/crashed on me during a call and I don't get enough calls to judge how rare that is. For battery life, it seems to do really well when its on idle (better than stock GB), but drains faster in use.

I'm not a fan of all the UI changes in ICS, but I do look forward to official OTA for the Nexus S soon, and will use that until there is a proper CM9 stable with some extra features. It seems fast and fluid so far, but so were the custom GB roms (when working properly).

Unfortunately my LG revolution is on the shallow end of ROM support... kinda makes me a bit sad...

so it looks like my defy will feel some ICS love.. But I will hold out on it until its stable.

Eh? My G2 (running CM7.1) can go landscape without opening the keyboard.

CM7.1 isn't stock now, is it? :p

EDIT: So I bought ADW Launcher last night, and with it running the landscape without keyboard works. As soon as I turn the launcher off, it goes back to not giving me landscape unless I open the keyboard. This is for the home pages, not for programs.
