Wait! WTF?!? South Park: The Game going to be RPG

Holy Sh*t! THQ has announced that they're going to be collaborating with South Park Digital Studios and Obsidian Entertainment to create South Park: The Game. For reference, Obsidian are the masterminds behind famous RPGs like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords and Fallout: New Vegas.
According to the press release, South Park: The Game is to be, "an epic role-playing adventure that will allow the user to befriend Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny and explore the quiet little mountain town like never before." It's scheduled to release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in late 2012.

Intriguing. On the plus side, Obsidian can theme the error dialog that users will see all too often at launch with a nice "Suck my balls!"
 
I'd rather they let us play any of the four kids. It would be awesome to keep in character while playing Cartman.
 
Lame as hell. It's sad that Obsidian will be wasting a team on this when they could be making an actual game with an interesting IP.

I honestly wouldn't know for either of them, just going by general perception, and mainly for humor.

But if they are going to be inconsistent, I'm hoping Wheel of Time is with the "greats" and not South Park.

Alpha protocol *MAY* have been good, if it weren't for the DRM that prevented me, a paying customer, from playing the game i paid for.

/smack asstard whoever implemented that DRM.
