I already have Crysis 2 so I can't really try this, but Origin has Crysis 2 for $9.99 for their Cyber Monday Sale.

But they also have the store-wide $10 promotion for the month of December if you buy any game from them (which hasn't been released within 30 days ago) before 11/30.

So for $9.99 you get Crysis 2 and a $10 promotion for another game. Pretty good deal for you guys who's been waiting for it to go down to $5.

*EDIT: You need to spend at least $30 to get the promotion. Sorry for the mistake.

Do I actually have to buy a game from them or can I just add say BFBC2 key from Steam to get the credit?

It says in the fine print that you need to purchase a game from Origin. So if you buy an EA game from another store, you won't get the promotion.

The holidays are all about giving, so we're getting into the spirit by giving you a $10 gift code. Just purchase any game this month and you'll get a $10 gift code to use on any purchase of $30 or greater in December, excluding certain titles*. Look for coupon code within your confirmation email upon purchase.

Aaaaaaaaaah. I knew something was wrong. Too good to be true. There's no way to change the thread title, is there?

You can ask an mod to change the title. It's actually not a bad deal if theres a game you might want in December

Thinking about picking this up for $10, it's supposed to show case some nice graphics after the DX11 patch is applied.

tempted but i hear this game has some pretty shitty mouse lag

Yeah, on my brothers machine.

He has Core i7 930/GTX 580 etc. etc, and it ran fine.

I'm actually buying it now for the price of 9.99.

Lol u better be right !

where and how do we get this dx11 patch?

Haha.. I hope I'm not wrong lol!! Maybe people had V-Sync on? I didn't notice any input lag / mouse issues when I played it.

DX11 patch is probably included with the download isnt it? if not.. can probably find it off the official website

I think you guys are reading it wrong. You don't have to spend over 30 dollars in November, you just have to buy any game in November.

The 10 dollars off must be used on a game that's over 30 dollars in December.

So you could buy crysis 2 for 10 then in December get 10 off something else over 30 dollars.

That's at least how I'm reading it.

The fine print says "requires minimum 30 dollar purchase" but it's not clear if that's 30 to get it initially (their headline says ANY game) or minimum 30 dollars to redeem the 10 off (which the headline says).

It's kind of misleading of true. But I didnt get 10 off in my confirmation email for batman so it could just be some more awesomely clear Origin communications.

You guys were right. Just talked with an origin rep. Well, 3 origin reps, because the first two disconnected on me quickly.

That's pretty damn misleading ... since "minimum 30 dollar purchase" could apply to the initial purchase or the reward purchase, and the headline says "any" game with that minimum buried in the legal.

I got a refund on the $25 Batman ... I can wait until it's on Steam, I've had some odd problems with Origin. The refund was processed quickly, I'm going to have to check on my credit card to make sure they actually credited it back.

I just bought Crysis 2 for $9.99 and in the confirmation email it says:

Here is your $10 off discount code: ******. You can use this code any time during December, $30 minimum purchase required.

How is Crysis 2?....what about the blur?...what about the mixed reviews?

For technically "free," I'll grab it. I prefer keeping things on Steam, but the $ always wins.

The mixed reviews are largely a result of the launch -- mainly the fact that it shipped with DX9 (and didn't immediately release an official statement saying DX11 would be patched in...), also the fact that there was problems with online authentication and server stability the first few days. If I recall correctly, none of the Steam keys worked the first 1-2 days...and then EA pulled it from steam not too long after launch. Personally, I never had any problems (bought retail). Other than that, the main complaint I've heard is the changes to the way the nano suit works compared to Crysis/Warhead...didn't really bother me.

Went back to it a month or so ago to check out the DX11 patch - it was a decent looking game with DX9, but with DX11 it's outstanding. It won't force you to drop insane amounts of money to upgrade your system (which apparently upsets some people), but it looks excellent. Well worth the $10 IMO.

sorry but the graphics are not "outstanding" even in DX11 and high res texture pack. in fact I am really disappointed in the games visuals considering they are supposed to be cutting edge. the game is littered with horrible low textures many of which are right in front of you. there is also a little flickering just like in the first Crysis that drives me nuts when looking around. its really noticeable if you look at the tree tops when panning around. and the game is just washed out looking in spots too.

TBH I think Batman Arkham City blows Crysis 2 away visually.

I am impressed with the game with dx11 and high texture patches, I will play thru this for sure. I may even try MP but I'm pretty sure I'll be playing BF3 for MP. I also got the $10 off coupon too.

FYI -- Amazon has matched the download edition price at $9.99, but only tosses in a $5 credit for a download in January.

Ok, just tried paying for Crysis 2 with paypal. It worked, but I don't seem to have an email with the 10 off 30 coupon...

I got a paypal receipt, but the trouble is my Origin account email and my paypal email are two different things...and I haven't gotten a confirmation on my Origin email yet, might be the issue.

well you will have to get that confirmation to play the game too because it contains the game key.

overall I am impressed with Origin. it downloaded Crysis 2 really fast. when I launched the game all I had to do was paste the key and then it updated to the 1.9 patch. I fired up the game and played for a while and then quit. I then went to mycrysis.com and downloaded the DX11 and high res texture packs they installed perfectly without a hitch.

Looks like paypal takes a bit more time to get a confirmation with than paypal, just got checked my email again and got the confirmation with the code a few minutes ago, and about a half hour after I paid.

Thanks for the reassurances guys. :)

Crysis 2 with DX11 and Hi-Res texture pack looks nice @ 2560x1440! Too bad my SLI runs it at 35-45 fps only :(

even with those, I am not impressed with the graphics in Crysis 2. to me it looks awful overall after playing Batman Arkham City.

you should get a confirmation email within minutes of making a purchase and the code is in it.

btw anyone want to but my code? lol

I got a confirmation email in less than a minute along with my product key, I did not receive a $10 off next purchase coupon.

Maybe when they patch out GFWL i will give that game a run... Did they patch it out of the first one yet?
