Saints Row 3 PC - Awesome!

Is it me, or does it feel like theres less to do than compared to SR2?

I have the feeling that they plan to milk the add-on content for this game. What that means to different people is different but I love the game so much I'll gladly buy all I can get.

Does anyone know how property sharing goes in COOP? If 1 person buys a property do they only get the $$$ perhour or does both players?

Is anyone suffering from the game freezing since they patched DX 10 and 11? Never had a problem before and now the game random freezes up from time to time. I can ctrl alt del out and do other tasks on my PC, but the game stays frozen for a bit and then goes to the save game menu on it's own. There it stays permanently frozen. If I kill the task and restart the game it remembers everything I did up to the second it froze up.

Very weird bug since the latest patch!

Well that puts me off the game...

Don't let it. There's so much to mess around with in this game besides the "main story."

It's up to you but if you need that GTA fix except without all the heavy handedness that GTAIV brought to the table than this is for you.

Right now, I've about 12 hours of game time into it according to Steam's stats.

This is with me pretty much picking it up, playing it fairly casually in between Skyrim sessions and I'm probably about 40 percent through the "main story" at most. Take it FWIW.

You open the "Saints Book" of things to do in addition to all the different activities and such on the map and you can kiss a lot of free time good bye.

The main storyline in this game compared the the previous one is extremely short.

It is. I agree with what some other folks were talking about in terms of narrative and characters but overall...look at what kind of game we're talking about. This isn't Shakespeare. ;)

The game still delivers in spades across the boards if you want that real nice GTA fix IMO. There's a LOT to do in this game.

Obviously it's far from perfect but it delivers the goods if you need an over the top, wild ass sandbox game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Is there a way to force 120Hz in DX11 using a 6870 1GB? It forces the game to 60Hz and I can't choose in display settings 120Hz nor by editing the .*CFG file and putting read only attribute (still doesn't work)

anyone with a 6870 want to copy thier display.ini for me? i still havnt gotten a chance to play this game and im wondering if it might have something to do with it needing to make the display.ini from the initial start up since it cant even load all the way to do that i want to see if putting in the display.ini with out the game having to make it will stop it from app hanging after the AMD logo.

I took my time in Just Cause 2 and completed the main storyline in 32 hours. It could probably have been done in 10. I am 24% into the completion of JC2 in terms of sidemissions and collections though I doubt that I will go back to it. Without story there just isn't enough incentive. It probably wouldn't ne different in SR3.

JC2 fizzled out after the story line, blowing stuff up was only so much fun.

ROFL. Ok thanks. I am going to wait anyways since have literally bucketloads of games to play, finish, and delete off my HDDs.

Let's face it: Games like these aren't about strong story and narrative in the first place.

Somehow I put a good 60+ hours in Just Cause 2 and a lot of that happened as I was kind of getting the story done but just doing all kinds of other stuff. A fantastic game on a great engine that looks GORGEOUS with all the DX11 eye candy maxed out.

An ideal example of what a great sandbox game on next gen (now current gen) hardware can be like and look like. The controls are fantastic regardless of circumstance or vehicle and I, for one, would love to see that game engine used for some other games across a number of genres.

Just Cause 3 will be a day one preorder for me sight unseen.

I couldn't disagree more, but then I can only roam around the same few square kilometers killing the same random inconsequential pedestrians for so long before I get bored, maybe you have a higher tolerance for that than I do. I've put about 13 hours into SR3 and I'm pretty much done. The only things left to do are all the activities that are shit(snatch, escort, etc), so really, I have no reason to continue playing.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, but once the story ended I just didn't have much motivation to keep going. I have no idea how you managed to play JC2 for 60 hours, don't you get bored blowing up the same copy-pasted soldiers, "fuel tanks", "communications towers" etc over and over again?

finally! its working.... im the purple hero ;) co-op is great

Yeah, this game is fun, recently bought it. Some of the one liners in this game is quite funny and I like the dark humour as well.

I havent played the story yet, i installed it and only played the whored mode to see if it will even run decent on my rig in sig. Medium settings at 1280x720 with no aa ran pretty darn good. You need a good video card to crank the settings.

i get around 30-40fps inthe streets with my system on ultra with low shadows 1920x1080.

4.6ghz FX8120
16GB DDR3
2x 1GB 6870's

i hit a video memory wall with high shadows so i just leave them low

Man I love this game, can't wait for the DLC. I finished the game, and have close to 100% control.

Sucks to be you.

I've got over 30 hours into the game between the main and side quests. The game was awesome hope for some DLC.

You can count on it. That's why they put out that season pass preorder thingie for those of us who bought it direct from THQ.

Did they fix the game for amd 6xxx card users, or is the game still getting low frames?

Looking for cool fellow HARD people to play with, all random co op games I have joined are all cheats.....just bought game and looking to start pretty much from the beginning

Question: For those who preordered on THQ and got that Season Pass thing...how's that actually work?

This game is a blast. The engine, graphics, pc options, controls, modes, etc are really impressive. The writing works for what the game is presenting itself as. Good stuff, hope they allow missions to be replayable like GTA IV: Episodes. Seems like there's so much to do, a good problem to have.

Having fun with this one now. Much more enjoyable to play in co op. Going to be doing missions with a friend in this one. Some great jokes also thrown in :p.

I personally think so. Just tons of replayability and enjoyment to be had. Nice price

SR3 is now 19.99 on GreenGame with I think that same passcode. Just bought and downloading.

Holy Moley Steam is slow downloading this game. It's like a 56K modem speed. 19 hours? That can't be right!

Grabbed it from the UK THQ site today...I've already gotten six hours of gameplay out of it. It's a lot of fun.

Do the weapon stores all have the same weapons? I haven't found a rocket launcher or sniper rifle outside of getting to use one from a helicopter in one of the missions.

Hard to pass up the $20 GMG deal, steam is downloading right now.
Make sure you use the code: FIFTY-SAINT-XMASS for the $20 deal.

Dammit, I got the extended download service that made it $28...why didn't I look to delete that? Money just wasted. Oh well.
