Borderlands is great. I'm getting a lot of enjoyment from this game

right on brother! Picked that game up 2 months ago on sale, played it every day 'til I reached the endgame. I was surprised how much fun it was, they really nailed it.

yeah got the GOTY edition for like 8 bucks on steam. I could easily justify 50 for this.

i really like the zombie DLC (Jacob's)

You should go into more detail if you're going to post a thread on it(not flaming just suggesting.)

I really like borderlands. I've kinda quit though. I'm having trouble with general knoxx because I'm below level and my weapons suck. I keep trying to get a game together but thanks the shitty gamespy stuff it's a huge pain in the ass. I hope they remove gamespy in borderlands 2.

Loved the Knoxx DLC, especially the Crimson arena. I thought it was the perfect difficulty... unlike the Moxxi DLC.

In the Moxxi DLC you just spent a really long time in combat. It was not hard if your team went in out fitted with the proper class mods. Team health and shield buff class mods for two of your players are really helpful. Add in a soldier with a damage/rate maxxed out turret + team cool down buffs. Round out your last player with a team cool down buff, (they stack) or health regen class mod and it is almost boring how easy it is.

Love Borderlands. These days, the GOTY version is a no brainer and if there's any sweet sales so much the better. Great gameplay, tons of looting, fun co-op, even the single player was good to me. No, it's strong on story narrative but it's strong on pretty much everything else as far as I'm concerned.

Shoot, I must have put at least 100 hours into the thing. I can't wait for part 2.

Moxxi DLC was hideously boring, wasn't challenging at all and the vanilla ending was absolutely horrific but everything else was basically awesome.

I really liked the armory DLC, especially glitching the event and opening over 100 chests.

Also protip: fastest way to powerlevel by far is to be a hunter or find someone who is a hunter and have them run through the last area in the vanilla game before the final boss and 1 shot all the aliens. Hunters can bypass their shield, which they have huge amounts of... and they give absolutely enormous amounts of EXP.

I bought it a while back on sale goty... then picked up a 4 pack for my friends on the crazy cheap sale earlier in the year.

This summer I finally got around to playing it... Steam shows I ahve 90 hours in and to be honest, that was all solo..... :D

Fun game and looking forward to 2.

Was a great game but finished playing it many months ago. If you've never tried it you should.

Agreed!!! This is just a fun game, and I can't wait for BL2 either.

@ValeTudo - steam shows me at 215+ hours......get one class finished to level cap then start again, it's just too fun :D

Just wait until you get to the ending, then you will see how great it is.

I maxed all characters for all the DLC's, around 250 hours of play time before quitting. That was a very fun game.

Very close to finishing the game. I got to the last map, read a spoiler on it and haven't gotten back to finish it since. Bad ending indeed, but at least the DLC will keep me busy. I'm tempted to try the other classes (at level 35 as Roland now) to see what I missed out on.

I can't believe that 15 minutes of a game could ruin it for you if you enjoyed the other 40+ hours. It's not like Borderlands had a great story anyway, so who cares if the ending stunk. For me it was even worse... the game bugged so the ending video basically said "Great job! You really..." and then cut off and returned me to the menu. I was puzzled for sure, but it didn't change my opinion of the game one bit.

Oh and yeah there are certainly strategies for making Moxxi super easy in coop... but I've played through the whole game SP.

Totally agree on all counts and had the same end of game experience. I'm going through the DLC now and loving it. Especially the zombie dlc.

One thing I found a bit annoying and im a huge fps fan so I never thought I'd say this is the sheer number of guns that are available. I almost classify it as 'gun spam' lol..I found myself spending a notable amount of time seeing if the gun I had was better than one I found and consistantly managing my inventory...its ok though becuase there were a ton of cool guns.

Awesome game. One of the best values I've had in years and I'm not easily impressed on playthrough value. One last thought....I think what I won me over the most is the sheer size of the maps and how many there were. It felt like endless exploration.

Awesome

so i finished play-through 1 and since reading about the rare omega shields/weapons I'm eager to go through play-through 2 although I am totally not a replay guy.

getting to level 61 is going to take awhile

Did the graphics of the game bother anyone else? I couldn't play this game for more than 30-45min without getting a headache. I really wanted to enjoy it, but couldn't because of the strain it put on my eyes.

the black outline thing and cartoon like feel bothered me at first in terms of it's "difference" from what I'm used to, but after that no problems here.

moxxi arena is just friggin time consuming as hell, but its pretty easy once you figure out the pattern. the other problem with moxxi is that you get 0 XP for all the killing you do, the only XP you get is for turning the mission in.

yeah took me a bit to get use to that but honestly the most annoying thing in the game is the fact that to move around i had to drop my mouse DPI setting 500dpi but to go into my backpack or mission selection i'd have to crank it up to 4000DPI.. that honestly drove me nuts and after 50 hours in that game it finally forced me to quit playing.

Yep, BL is one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in a LONG time.

The default FOV for Borderlands is 70, which is low enough to make a lot of people feel sick. You can fix it but due to poor design choices, the fix is not especially graceful. Most people found 85 stopped the headaches and nausea without going fisheye.

A different walkthrough for the FOV fix, and a bunch of other interesting tweaks, including removing the black outlines, can be found here.

The DLC really added to this game, I'm typically a little unsure of DLC but am very happy that I purchased it.

Hey guys. What's the deal with the cyan weapons? I for the life of me can't find one. I'm at level 53 on play through 2. Have beat all missions on playthrough one and even tried the Knox hack to get unlimited time in the armory. Still nothing better than orange weapons. Any ideas? I want to get a shield....anything and prefer to get it before I beat Knox on playthrough 2 so I can use it vs having beat the entire game first. LOL

thx

Don't know, they are pretty rare though. I only have a pistol and a shield that are cyan, and those were both had from crawermax on the second play through with 4 level 69 players. Everything else I have is orange or dark orange. I have only even seen a total of 5 cyan/ pearlescent weapons.

You could always make your own if it comes to it.

try using the hidden/secret gun crates with 4 max level people you should find them..

I'm on PC and playing solo. Is there anyway to do this? I can try coop but its hard to get random internet peeps to corporate with hidden crate searching. The one in west commons is the best hidden on I think?

You wont find them playing solo, crawmerax on pt2 with 4 69's is pretty much the only way to get them.

Is there any way to get eyefinity working in this game? I bought it and tried but the FOV was all messed up and the menus didn't fit on the screen.

Not true. I have two pearlescent items, and I found both of them while playing solo. They are rare, but it's certainly possible to find them without having to play co-op.

I was just hoping to squash his dreams of finding one solo, the chances of finding the solo are super small and not worth worrying about.

I really enjoyed the coop in this game. And the graphics were a nice new twist. It does get boring after you've beaten stuff once. I've tried to play through on every class but it just is easy and gets old.

Maybe I will buy this and see if it helps me get back into PC Gaming. I really haven't gamed in a couple of years.

One class was enough for me to get everything out of the game and be well satisfied.

Mix of sniper and mostly mashers and scoped pistols.

I think I hit near 100 hours on it when all was said and done but that was enough for me. I had and have no desire to replay it simply because I made the game my bitch on my first playthrough anyways. I accomplished everything.

Replaying it with multiple classes is asking to get bored even for the most die hard of Borderlands fans IMO.

Looking forward to part 2 big time in June.

Don't forget this.

Same, It blew me away, i pondered buying it for months until it hit $7.50 for it and all the DLC. After 250+ hours and 6...... playthroughs i feel kinda bad about only paying 7.50 for it :D

Borderlands 2 will be a day one purchase
