Samsung takes on the iPhone in latest Galaxy S II ad, pulls no punches

I bought an iPhone 4S. And no, I didn't go wait in line to buy one, just ordered it online an got it in a day and a half.

Lol, I'll bet the people who actually did wait in lines would do some hardcore raging if someone with an Android phone walked up to their queue. I'll bet they're already raging at that commercial :D.

Samsung certainly won't sway any of those people by making fun of them like that though, lol. I wonder how lame Apples rebuttal commercial is going to be.

Cute! I would stand in line for an HTC Titian on Sprint or Verizon.

"Siri, tell me about the Galaxy S II"

"You do not want one. It has 4Gs which causes cancer."

I watched the commercial but learned nothing about the phone other than it has a large screen. The rest of the time was spent making fun of a competitors customer base. You could argue the Apple vs. PC commercials did the same but they at least provided some information about what makes their product superior or a better alternative for a potential buyer. This commercial actually reminds me of the articles that came out when the 4s was being released in Australia. Samsung/Phone Carriers sent reps out to the Apple 4s Queue to offer free Galaxy SIIs to people waiting in the line. I would have taken one for free.

I don't think it was meant to 'teach' you anything about the phone really. They did mention a larger screen, they did say the word 'amazing' and they did reference 4G speeds. What it's meant to do is pique interest of people looking for a new phone by saying 'hey, look at this, come check one out'...

I think it's a good commercial and it almost perfectly nails the stereotype of an iSheep. I'm not saying everyone who buys an iPhone is one of those people, either, because they're not, but there are undoubtedly a lot of people out there who will buy anything with the Apple logo on it just because.

Well they mostly promoted the GS2s larger screen and that it had 4G in the commercial. Then they went onto make a stab at the 4S's bad battery life (though even with the software bug, I'd say it's prolly still about the same as the GS2, lol), no 4G and that it's physically indistinguishable from the previous iPhone 4.

The truth is; a majority of customers/fans for both of these devices already know enough about their devices to know their specs and downfalls compared to the competition. So when they see these commercials, it's not to sway them to buy into the competitor, it's really just the corporations talking shit about each other in public, IMO.

We haven't heard from mobusta yet...he's either sulking in the corner or trying to make people rage-quit in CoD with his 1337 h4x.

He's actually been pretty quiet around here lately. I think Chui took his place as the Mobile Phone sub-forum troll for now.

I believe he is mobusta, just trying to spread FUD and dissension with his overwhelmingly ridiculous comments. Suppose some would even be so put off by him enough to buy an iphone :D

People started ignoring him and reporting his posts as trolling.....something tells me that the mods sent him a warning.

Funny video. Maybe Apple should take a page out of Samsung's playbook and make an ad based on postings on this forum:
1. I removed and rei-nstalled my Android phone's battery because it locked up. This is a well known troubleshooting technique.
2. I installed another ROM to improve performance. My phone now runs like total shit now so I went back to the stock ROM.
3. I have to wait for the latest OS update. The carriers won't give a shit for most phones so I have to rely on modders.

Apple could take a page from their own playbook:

1. We released an OS update that literally fucking kills phones one generation behind, even though we said the new OS would work on that model phone.
2. Our fix for the issue we caused is to say "fuck you, upgrade to the new phone."
3. Take baths in hundred dollar bills as legions of nitwits take #2 to heart.
4. "What? You say your GPS puts you miles away from where you really are? Naw bitch, that's a fuckin' feature. Go see new shit, you'll thank us later."

Android fan: "I love android because I'm a modder."
iPhone fan: "You work for the geek squad."

lol not

Android user = I have my own brain, and can think for myself, thank you very much. I don't want my phone OS forced on me, with no customizations allowed, we like to tinker.
iPhone user = A phone for people used to dumbphones. Best for moms and grandmas. The iPhone is like a big boys Fischer Price toy.

Is that the best joke you can come up with? Since you are using Win 7 Pro I should start the Linux vs Windows comparisons. Windows: the Fisher Price OS best for moms and grandmas.

I should write Samsung's ads.

Android fan: I love using Google Nav.
iPhone fan: ...

And here I thought we were all adults when Chui wasn't around... C'mon now both platforms have their strengths and weaknesses.

My GS2 runs out of battery first compared to others' 4S...
Brand new TMo SGSII. Strong signal and wifi (basically ideal conditions) but even so...70% remaining after 31 hours.
