BenQ new VW2420/EW2420 VA panel with LED backlight.

I'm seriously considering buying two more of these for Eyefinity. Just worried about the quality control. I suppose it's not that big a deal if they're going to be in my peripheral vision but I know if there was a glaring issue with either one it'd bug the hell out of me.

Just get them from somewhere that offers a decent warrantty service if you plan on having them for a while

Actually they will also include new features such as Picture in Picture, Picture by Picture.
The original EW2420 has speakers (1.5w x 2), the new ones will have 2w.
They also support a new metallic body design which looks pretty sweet.

For those interested, after having used the monitor for a while, I've changed my settings and I believe they are now the best I can get without calibration. In particular, the greys are more neutral. New settings.

Picture Mode: Standard
Brightness: 30 (I sometimes adjust this depending on ambient light)
Contrast: 50
Sharpness 3
Gamma: 2.2
Color: User Mode
Red: 96
Green: 91
Blue: 95

AMA: ON
Dynamic Contrast: OFF
Eye Protect: OFF
Eco Sensor: OFF

This seems to be adapted for the BL2400PT, but probably not the EW and VW models which have different factory presets.

Hello. Long-time lurker, first time poster here. I just received the EW2420 today with no noticeable defects except for the left edge light leakage, but it's not that annoying enough :). I guess I got lucky considering this was one of the earlier units (manufactured on 10/10/10). Quite an upgrade from my Acer X223W. After playing around for hours and reading settings from various sources, I've settled on Kikou's setup. Thanks! Only differences are I set my Brightness to 50 (I've always liked even numbers since back in the CRT days for some reason :D) and Sharpness to 4.

There's one thing that's unsettling:
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php --> The RGB colours have the most control in making the last row of blocks visible, but the last 2 remain invisible.
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php --> Gamma changed from 2.2 to anything lower will make the blocks more visible, but the first row would still remain invisible. Also, although it's true that Gamma changed to 2.0 will eliminate banding, the colours in generate don't look natural to me.

I'd be curious if someone has actually fully passed those two tests.

Am I the first EW2430 owner here?

Question: does the EW2420 also have 3 AMA settings (off, high and premium)? What's the difference between high and premium?

The EW2420 only has "on" & "off" settings for AMA. I have no idea whats the difference on the EW2430 for High and premium?

I think there isn't any new VA panel monitor from BenQ recently? They have the new XL2420T which is pretty cool though!
Is there something you want to update with pitbull haha

Does the BL2400PT = EW2430 ? Or are there differences ?

I understand that both are better than the older EW2420, but how do they compare in terms of image quality ?

Does anybody know about this ?

I think I read they have the same panel but different settings (something like EW2430 ≥ BL2400PT > EW2420), mainly improvements about dark (near black) details and colors, but I'd like to hear from someone who knows for sure.
