QPack Backpack or Bag

Only thing I don't like about the Gear Grip is what's preventing if from sliding forward or backwards out of the harness?

I've found this online: http://www.ebags.com/optima/tote/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=12923

and there are a few other bags on that site that might fit the bill.

nope won't work... its only 9" wide.

Unfortunately it is looking like the Falcon NW bag is the best bet right now.

I used a Record backpack I picked up from guitar center. Padded for protecting records, and fits the x-qpack no issues. Works like a charm.

Now you can get the SG-01 bag from some online stores for about 50 bones. So that is another option.

I'm really worried about getting a sugo. I have a good bag now that fits the qpack but it's so tight it's hard to zip up. Is that how the sugo bag is?

as soon as i get it, i will let you know how well it fits, i ordered on tuesday from newegg, hopefully will be here by the weekend, but i am not optimistic about it.

yes please let us know if the sugo bag fits the qpack or not. According to newegg the bag will just barely fit the qpack.

I Love this bag :p , it is VERY well put together and thought out. :D it fits the qpack slightly snugly from one angle, but it works, and is not straining anything. it has some extra room in the main portion of the bag because the qpack is shorter. the bag is nylon canvas type material, and has 2 long 2"wide velcro straps to hold your case solidly. it has 2 carrying handles and a shoulder strap, plus a place for your other goods. a healthy pocket on either end, and one on the side. and a long slim one on the top, for a keyboard i think. also the top opening has 2 zippers, and they not only open up the top, but open up one of the sides too, so that you can place your rig inside, and then close up a the side and top together. this thing is really well thought out. and while not exactly dimensionally perfect, it will do the job quite well. i got mine at newegg, $44.99 plus shipping. and if someone can explain to me how to post pictures, i will take some digital photos and let you all see it. :) i am very happy with this purchase. (and no i do not work for silverstone)

ok, here are some pics, sorry it took so long

Mine does not fit too well, because i use an ergonomic kb, and it is kinda large

I would like to see some pics of that Green Qpack. Also, How big is that keyboard compared to the G15?

the MS Natural is pretty fat and tall so it takes 2 hits from the standard keyboard. the g15 is only a little bit on the fat side but definitely not as tall as the ms natural. hope that makes a little sense.

As soon as I can get back over to Target I will drop $14 on this:

The dimensions look perfect. It has a removeable hard plastic bucket inside and I think my QPack will fit just about right. All walls are padded, no need to add foam. Don't know if the front pocket is big enough for a KB. The webpage won't flip to the black and gray bag but it looked pretty solid (discrete) in the store.

Pics to follow...

I will try to get some pics of the case soon.

The MS Natural is thicker, longer and deeper than just about any other kb, it is ergonomic for one thing,
and it has built in usb hub capabilities with 2 ports, so most other keyboards, including the G15 should fit nicely.

I considered something like that, and for a time looked around for one that would fit,
but most of the ones that i found were cheaply made, and looked somewhat flimsy.
The silverstone bag is made of pretty tough canvas and thick nylon straps, is padded,
and has a total of 7 pockets, and a place for keyboards. i think it was well worth what it cost me.

I'm shopping for a bag for an SG01 case which is 10.5 x 8.3 x 15.5 "

These look pretty good to me. The 8.5" width vs 8.3" SG01 might be close on the jetpack and the sierra Passport, but I really like the design on those two especially. I actually would prefer the bag to not be oversized so it might work out better that way. The bag's extra 'piggy-back' compartments look like they might be big enough to hold a keyboard too.

I wonder what the length of the main compartment is, since it has big side pockets as part of the dimensions..
If the side pockets are 4" each, that would be 24" Length = 4" + 16" main + 4"
Which would be cutting it close vs. 15.5" SG01 case length, if that guess is correct. (I have no idea).

Any thoughts? suggestions?

I might need to find some larger bags to choose from if I want to bring a LCD monitor along. Alternately, I could get a briefcase or laptop sleeve just for the lcd. I'd prefer to have it all in one bag with both backpack and carry-handle options however, without having the bag start to get into a hockey-bag realm.

:( And I just ordered a geargrip too.

Maybe if I keep an eye out at my local stores, I can get a better fitting bag.

I found an 18" version of the high sierra cove bag which might be a tighter fit.

Sierra Cove Island 18"

It is 10" x 18" x 9" vs the SG01 case's 10.5" x 8.3"x 15.5", so it might be hard to squeeze that extra .5" in there.

The downsides are that I probably can't fit an lcd+protective sleeve in there, or any extra protective padding/foam. This means I would have to carry a briefcase along with the bag to house the monitor.

Overall I'd prefer a backpack or backpack hybrid if I can find one that will carry everything without it being in the 'mountaineering' range of backpack sizes.

I'm a student who takes their Q-Pack to work during the night shift so mobility was one of the main reasons I built a Q-Pack rig. The included handle doesn't cut it for me, and I dont need a sack to carry headphones, keyboard etc. That said, I think the gear-grip is the best option. I'm enclosing the email I sent to the company, and hope it helps some people with this issue. I think I'm going to order one tomorrow, if it doesn't work, I could always send it back at no cost. LMK what you all think..

MY EMAIL

Hello, I was looking at your product hoping to use it along with my Aspire
Q-Pack. Are there any known issues with this combination, or is it all
systems go? I'd love to have one since it seems much easier than packing it
up in the original box everytime I need to move it! I'm hoping for good
news...

I have good news for you. Yes we do have a product that will work for this
case. The best option for you is our GearGrip-LT harness
(www.geargrip.com/details_gglt.php). This is a solid harness and it
will work well for this case. Our Micro line of products are too small for
this case and the bag found on our GearGrip-Pro product is too tall so it
would fold over a bit at the top. I think the GearGrip-Pro product would
work though so if you need the bags then you may wish to give the
GearGrip-Pro a try.

If you order from us direct we can offer a no risk guarantee such that if
the product does not work as expected for any reason we will refund or
exchange as needed and cover the resulting freight (US only).

Hope this helps, let me know if I can provide further assistance.

I have an SG01 and the silverstone bag. The G15 doesn't fit the way the straps were made, but laid down in the right order, the straps work fine. I'm not sure how to post a picture or else I'd do that.

I was looking to see if anybody knows of any good backpacks or shoulder bags that would fit the QPack. The only thing holding my back right now is that. I know it has a handle but I will be bringing mine to work and I want to be a bit discrete. I was looking at this but I don;t know if it will fit

Mogen Mini PC 3 in 1 Backpack

Let me know with links if possible.

Shawne

I have that bag, it's been sitting in my closet for 5 years. Probably longer. Bought it for one single event because I'm on a motorcycle and the bike I had at that time did not have any hard luggage.

Anyway, it's a great bag, you can use it as a backpack, a regular carry bag, or as a wheeled pull behind bag. Has lots of padding, lots of pockets, a keyboard pocket and comes with soft bags for your SFF and keyboard and mouse.

I was about to bump the FS post I had on it if you want it.
