Does anyone own this yet and how good/worth the price is it?

Will I get 120fps 2d/60fps in each eye 3d @ 1920x1080 on a MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III 2GB in modern games or is Xfire a must?

I have one...won it at GeForce LAN6.
I love it, especially at my price!

I don't have your GPU, but my 480GTX runs most of my DX10 stuff just fine in S3D. I don't run FRAPs, but I haven't noticed any framerate issues.

Can you run Crysis 2 at max high texture in S3D with no issues? I doubt it. S3D isn't perfect, but I do enjoy it much more on this monitor than on my xGFs 22" Asus.

What game do you want tested?

I don't own BF3 yet (waiting on GeForceLAN coupon to activitate 11/25 IIRC)

Make sure you want to invest in this monitor with AMD cards; I THINK you will be limited to HDMI, which will limit your resolution to 720p if you want to run 60fps each eye. 1080p limits you to 24fps over HDMI.

The Samsung 120Hz models are a better fit for AMD 3D. Keep in mind, crossfire is not yet supported over 3D.

Just seems like over kill since the human eye can't really differentiate at a refresh rate above 60 but it is a nice piece if you have the money for over kill

It's not that they aren't good, I mean they are great... It just wouldn't be something I would seek out myself

Then why even bother to put in your two cents in this post? I don't see the huge deal of mechanical keyboards and only used one very briefly, for example, but I don't go into a post trying to tell someone they are wasting their money when all they are looking for user input.

For bf3 no way you will get frames 120 + at that resolution unless you force dx10 and turn most settings off or to low. The min max just swings too much. It would cause issues.

Time to annoy HN274 owners

Reivew: http://www.digitalversus.com/acer-hn274h-p357_10872_38.html

Bad colors, slow response time, and poor contrast.

Impressions from ocuk/[H] user Clippa who also owns the 27" 120hz Asus and the 23" 120hz LG

[H] user Vega will probably say the same thing.

For AMD users the Samsung 750/950's are a must.

Xfire is a must and apparently you can use dxtory to limit your frame rate and still benefit from the 120hz response times.

^ brain surgery on-parade, ladies and gentlemen.

In more relevant news I just ordered the Acer HN274H which I plan on testing against the ASUS VG278H when it's released to see which of the two I like better, and while I'll be doing primarily 2D gaming I'm wondering if the monitor has to be driven with a solid 120FPS and VSync enabled for the monitor to look its best. I'm going to assume yes but I'm wondering what the monitor looks like, if there's a discernible effect with say VSync disabled and framerates that dip into say 90-100FPS or less territory.

To put it another way does the 120Hz monitor still look better/smoother than a 60Hz monitor when both are driven at 60FPS?
