Steve Jobs Voted Most Influential Man in Video Games

Yep. It's a plurality. Now this poll is truly bunk.

I don't know about the poll itself, but the math skills of the people reporting on it are certainly in question.

74% of people polled DO NOT believe that Steve Jobs is the leading man who shaped video games.

Idiots complete idiots who would even consider in an alternate reality that Steve has any imagined significance in the gaming world. He was a good enough human just like a bunch of people, but influential in games, he was not, and never will be, even in a black hole powered by a thousand suns.

Hahaha I'm sorry but this just paints the stereotypical picture true of the average Apple fanboy - and I do hate to use that term.

TROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOLOLOLOLOL. Please just ignore this. Don't even make your 5 paragraph post about real game inciters and just drop it already please. Steve Jobs is dead, that's good enough.

I don’t understand why just because someone famous dies tragic as it is that within the 3 months they have to make him sound like Jesus himself and he walked on water  they did the same thing with mikel Jackson and everyone was calling him i child molester before he died. he did some amazing things and some realy stupid things like the rest of us lets just leave it at that.

Saying Steve jobs invented or did anything for the world of computers phones music or games is like saying al gore invented the internet.

I wouldnt be surprised if Steve Jobs gets named the most influential man in a non-tech related category at the rate this is going.

Steve Jobs for most influential man in sports should be next topic

I am actually waiting for him to get the next Nobel Peace Prize...

At the same conference, Bill Gates voted most influencial man in open source applications...

:D Seriously though, they would find a way to credit Mr Jobs. I think the RDF increased by a factor of a 1000 when Steve Jobs died.

Next headline: Stalin voted most compassionate leader in history.

A new poll by me has found that a majority of commenters on [H] news articles do not read the article or other people's comments about it and post just as a knee-jerk reaction to the headline.

Actually, interestingly enough, a couple of the regulars on the TF2 servers I admin on do play on Macs.

Then they should be booted from that server as soon as possible for being a dumb ass, even faster than the xbox 360 console noobs.

god forbid someone games on a different platform than you.

How did Steve Jobs get voted higher than Shigeru Miyamoto? Miyamoto is the probably the reason I started gaming when I was kid.

Wow. Comments at the site that Forbes links to say it all. No one takes this seriously at all. It is a huge laugh fest.

Sigh for lack of critical thinking.

You've all got a hard on for hating Jobs (he's very hate-able) but you're blaming the wrong people. The Eurogamer article is trash, meant to stir up controversy when, in fact, it offers very little information. It doesn't tell you what the questions were or who they were posed to.

If you asked a bunch of iOS developers (and presumably most of the respondents are mobile/flash developers, considering Mark Zuckerberg scored highly as well) who influenced their company the most, of course the answer is Apple and Jobs. Or maybe it's just people promoting their own sub industry.

The most important thing to take away from it is that the article is poorly written and essentially designed to be flamebait, and most of you took it hook, line and sinker. There's zero context presented, and without that it should be a non-story.

^This. Lots of unaware people in this thread. You can run Windows NATIVELY on an Intel mac. It's not emulation/vm. Best setup out there for Macs is a dual 5770 though..lol

Yeah and how much will that run you on apples overpriced website? Seven grand? lol..

Are they sure this wasnt a poll for the biggest ***t found in a large technology company poll? Or was this information found in his latest biography* thats his cultist like followers have read, somewhere after the part where he single handly destroyed all the dinosuars and beat the crap out of Chuck Norris.

*(I say latest biography cos I am quite worried this man might do a 2pac and keep releasing products from beyond the grave somehow, maybe apple execs have managed to keep his brain alive and possibley then could put it in a shark and feed him foxconn workers to keep him going. Dunno just throwing it out there.) :)

when are we going to stop hearing about this douche?

What are you talking about? In 1000 years people will be fighting wars over what exactly he meant by "You're holding it wrong" and on how you should hold it properly.

Whatever it may be...

I actually agree with the poll.. sortof.

Steve Jobs has sent a clear message to the entire gaming industry how not to create
a gaming platform and for that I thank him.
