Should have tried the multiplayer and co-op. I've put at least a good 30 to 40 hours into that alone.

Damn, anyone else seen any similar deals on it? I have a $20 Amazon credit left from my Gears of War 3 pre-order, but I was hoping to save it if I could for one of the other awesome games launching this season. Too bad they don't have the same credit for this game :(.
 
Greg Miller at IGN gave UC3 a 10. That's his first 10 writing for IGN. I could only skim the article because I was reading on my phone (stupid work internet) but from what I can tell they took what you would expect from the team and delivered and then threw in a few twists that you wouldn't. I can't wait for this game.

Edit: If anyone would like to just copy/paste the closing comments or something here that owuld be great. My phone pretty much just shit the bed trying to load their full site instead of their mobile.

They're amazing games, but I felt no need to play the MP on either. There are just better MP options available elsewhere.

The SP however, wouldn't miss it for anything. I am willing to wait a little bit for it though.
 
Damn, I really need to clean out my PS3 before this comes. It works fine, but the fan spins up like it's overheating pretty fast, even if it's just idle at the XMB or playing a DVD. I'm hoping I can just blow everything out and re-apply some thermal paste for it to be quiet again.

Can't wait to play it now :D.

I know a lot of people would think it's insane, but these games are worth the $250+ of the PS3 just to play by themselves. I got a PS3 just for MGS4, but the Uncharted games are why I've kept it (other than BluRay playback) and still game on it.
 
IGN gave this game a full 10 in every category! Hell yeah! Uncharted is the best series on PS3 for sure.
 
Like I said in Jan - Feb time frame, this game is going to win a lot of GOTY awards and not just on the PS3 platform. Even with the major titles that have or will be coming out this year this game shines. This is without a doubt one of this generations finest games across all platforms.

If I had to take a guess, I would say Uncharted 3 wins more overall GOTY awards than anything else.
 
Tomorrow is the big day. I'm hopeful that my preorder will arrive from Newegg but I'll probably be lucky if it comes in on Wednesday.
 
Did anyone see X-Play's review? It's kind of concerning, but I still have no doubts about getting it. I just wonder how much merit to give it. Uncharted 2 is a hard game to top.
 
Come on, its been getting stellar reviews by everyone. Worrying about it not living up to UC2 is like worrying that your date with Brooklyn Decker will not be as good the one you had with Bar Refaeli.

X-play review isn't bad and Adam said many times it's a great game. A 4 out of 5 isn't a bad score. It's just not UC2 great.

I agree; like I said, I still have no doubts about getting it and I'm sure it'll be GOTY material still. I guess I was just expecting it to top Uncharted 2 in every way, which now sounds kind of absurd now that I said it, hah. I can't wait to get off work today to go pick it up and play it. The wife is ready to watch me play it all night too, lol.
 
While certainly not as "epic" as Uncharted 2, I still feel that the first Uncharted was better as a game. Thesh ootouts were better thought out in terms of angles and enemy positions. While Uncharted 2's enemies had better AI, the ones from the fist game were positioned better. With #2, they boosted the AI and dumped them into an area in waves.
The jumping sequences made more sense, too. The puzzles in the 2nd game typically revolved around just jumping to whatever the next place the game would let you go. The first game did a better job of actually letting you jump to your death.
 
Just picked it up.

I went to best buy and they had several however all had that damn spider web thing on them. The one I bought was the best one without much noticeable damage. They also handed me a T-Shirt.

mine is out for delivery atm. Ill be playing all day tomorrow.
 
UPS says mine should come tomorrow. Not a huge fan of having to wait but I saved $12 through Newegg so I guess I can wait one more day.

If Newegg did release day delivery like Amazon that would make it much easier to buy from them. I hope those that have their copies are enjoying them!
 
Grabbed one at Best Buy a few minutes ago. They had a fair number of copies on a table up front and a boatload of the console bundles in the back. I didn't see any of the collector's editions, so they must've been for pre-order only.
 
Will be picking it up after work, cant wait. Everyone that I know that has played it says its amazing. Not a huge jump in quality like it was from 1 to 2 but still extremely good.
 
I'd like to know too - although judging by lack of response from those with a copy I would guess the game is pretty damn good.

First and foremost I have to say I do not like to play single player games. I usually never finish them because I get bored. The most recent games I really loved that were an exception were Heavy Rain & Uncharted 2 . Hell I never even played the original Uncharted (yet).

As for Uncharted 3, i have played it for the past 5 hours. This game is incredible in so many ways. It took Uncharted 2 and improved on it greatly, adding more thrills and really creating what thus far as been a real amazing gaming experience.

The story is great so far and I'm looking forward to some of the other environments you travel to as the game continues.

Hand to hand combat is pretty cool. Definitely an improvement from before!

The puzzles are always a nice addition even though they seem a little easy so far. I remember them being easy back in the previous Uncharted as well. This is probably a good thing because if frustration sets in you might wanna turn the game off.. And trust me it was hard to just turn this game off.

Graphics are amazing and the thrills that you are put through are just incredible (so far).

In my opinion (again, so far) this game is the ultimate single player experience. Looking forward to coming home from work tomorrow and firing it up for another few hours. I plan to polish this game off quickly because I just can't put it down
 
Cheers to that awesome commentary DaRat. Sounds like I need to pick it up ASAP.

I liked the fluidity of shooting on UC1 - seemed like I was personally holding the gun, moving smoothly though the maps and still with a great story.

UC2 really had the cinematic story and felt like I was playing something bigger than me which is what I liked. Probably more than UC1 in the grand scheme of things.

Sounds like UC3 improves combat, adds some improved graphics and hopefully more/longer narrative and some cool plot twists (similar to UC2 so I'm there).

Will be picking it up for a full weekend of gaming on Sat morn (damn work gets in the way until Sat). Cheers again for the summary!
 
What he said, and the 3d is the best implementation this side of Super Stardust HD.
 
Having been a fan of Indiana Jones since the first movie in the 80's, this game makes me feel like I am Dr Jones! 1 & 2 were amazing, can't wait to play 3! I love how they do the cut scenes with the game engine and when its done it ends with your view, so seemless!
 
Naughty Dog does it again. Uncharted has the most breathtaking single player experience evar! Just the beginning really defines what video games are capable of and why they're an awesome medium in itself. It was so smooth, the way it transitioned from cutscene to gameplay. No way could a movie some how replicate this because games like Uncharted are interactive movies and not in the Heavy Rain sense, it's just THAT immersive. The voice acting is always spot on and the build up of the story sucks you in. Gosh, and all these history references from the middle ages/renaissance is so awesome. I am seriously gonna go up to my world history professor and tell him to get a PS3 with Uncharted 3(and the other 2) because these games will tickle his fancy(even though they aren't that much historically accurate, still fun though).
 
excited to start playing tonight. I got in on the buy 1 get 1 free at target. I returned Dark Souls for Uncharted 3 since I won't have time for for Dark Souls currently. $29.99 each plus tax for UC3 and Batman not to bad.
