Hackers Put Porn On Sesame Street's YouTube Channel

Lame, not that funny either. Sounds like a bunch of kids with a new toy, I think the use of the term "hack" in this case may be a bit generous.

Didn't a lot of people way back when come to this country to escape other views of sex and nudity?

Anyone going to bring up the lack of blood n guts on europe's TV vs in the states?

Laws protecting children are there for a reason. ( how about child labor laws? no time for the "u tube" working in a sweat shop)

Cant we just let kids be kids? They will be adults soon enough.

Kind of worried on how so many feel that exposing kids to this at such a young age isn't a problem. Does that mean that anyone who was molested as a child needs to just suck it up?

Age restrictions are nothing new. You can fight and die for your country at 18 but have to wait three more years to drink a beer.

What age should we let kids drive cars then? or vote?

Heck, are some "kids" now covered til the age of 26 on there parents medical coverage?

Don't hate the porn, just keep it where it belongs!

I don't see porn and nudity as the same thing. Most people here do, but that seems a bit dumb. You can be breastfed as a child, but past a certain age, seeing a boobie is bad!!!

Good point.

And I think that age would be puberty when the child starts to wonder about his own parts and the female or male body.

Do you have kids? This could be pretty damaging to a kid. I couldn't disagree more with this one.

Would it be any different than your child walking in your bedroom and seeing you and your wife having sex, would they also be damaged from this??

My dad getting rode from the lady down the street, was my "gateway drug" (cough) to porn

I saw him in action @ 4.... and my mind just turned to mush instantly! :p ;)

(don't remember personally, just heard the story recently lol)

wow. I mean, I understand why people hack... but seriously, hacking a children's content page to show porn is a new low.

As a father of 2 under 2, how the heck are you supposed to say to your kids, no, we can't watch Sesame street today. They don't understand.

well how about taking them to the park for a couple hours??

You don't really need to get into detail about why the page is down and Ice cream will make them quickly forget about it for a day!!

lmao the fact that you can come here post and laugh about it years later shows it was a good experience for you, and him too :D

Show me the non-bias study that proves this please. I seriously doubt it would do anything to a kid.

You have to teach them to understand. Also nothing was stopping you from watching sesame street, just not on youtube.

I have to agree. That's messed up. Putting porn up in places where it normally isn't is pretty funny, until you target it at kids. That's not funny at all.

Pretty lame if you asked me. Some people need to stay off the internet if they think hacking is entertaining to them with malicious intent.

What if these same "hackers" went around stealthily dropping off boxes of porn mags at kindergardens? Is it still funny? I would hope you would want those creeps arrested if they did that. So how is that any different?
It does not matter if it was done as a joke or if it was done to get some kind of twisted sexual thrill. Replacing Sesame Street with porn IS a perverted act and. End of story.

Just goes to prove that these hackers are a bunch of mentally handicapped basement dwellers.

"So when the snooty cat and the courageous dog with the celebrity voices meet for the first time in reel three, that's when you'll catch a flash of Tyler's contribution to the film...."

... though seriously that is kind of bad ><

Quit imposing your morals on other people.

Doesn't that work both ways for those saying it shouldn't have been done? Imposing the "general" morals on others???

I'm not saying that I approve of this, but then again I don't let my 5 year old on the computer without someone watching what she is doing. We also don't let her watch violence on TV (makes it really hard to watch anything we want to watch, since almost every show seems to have violence of some sort).

I also find it really ironic how many people think it is fine if they had done this on an "grown-up" site, but "OH NOOOZ! THINK OF THE CHILDREN" when it comes to what they actually did. What if they had hacked the NYTimes site and I opened it at work to find porn just as the boss walked in??? Where is my protection from the nanny-state people?

Look.. anything that a kid sees on the internet is ultimately the responsibility of the parents who are supposed to be monitoring them. NEVER trust the Internet/TV/Media/whatever to be watching out for what your kids see/hear... even something as supposedly safe as Sesame Street.

Oh, and to the comment

There are documented cases showing babies exploring their genitals while still in the womb, and are generally curious about their body parts long before puberty.
http://www.ejhs.org/volume11/Newman.htm. My two year old, who we have started to potty train, is always touching and looking at genitals when sitting on the potty, just like my 5 year old did at that age. My 5 year old was probably about 3 when she saw my wife get out of the shower and started asking why she has hair "down there" and other questions.. so they don't wait very long at all before getting curious...

Uh, if you got fired for reading the NYTimes at work and the site was hacked, the company would have 0 legal grounds for your termination unless there was a "No reading NYTimes at work" clause. This is the first time I've seen someone use the "Won't someone please think of the adults!?" line, though. Kudos.

That's true. Do you think it's natural for kids to be curious about ass to mouth, though?

I hope not. Though I do have a friend, who's sister has a daughter that would play in her own poop  So apparently scat-play isn't out of the question for curiosity in kids...

My 5 year old also saw a pair of dogs mating the other day and wanted to know why. We just told her that they were trying to make puppies and she left it at that. In fact, I think I've seen Animal Planet and National Geographic show mating animals quite often.. which again makes me wonder why our society has such an issue with sex between humans being shown... but animal sex on TV is fine

The animals aren't doing it for money. I think most people just don't want their kids growing up as porn stars or whores.

Ah... but that is as simple as teaching them the difference between what they see on TV/Internet and what is real. Just like I wouldn't think parents would want their kid to grow up to be Jackie Chan, or to think they could live under the sea as a mermaid :p But I guess that goes back to the parents having to pay attention and have an active participation in their children's lives....

As for the whore part... for some reason a lot of girls fell in love with the movie "Pretty Woman" and look where her whore lifestyle got her?

Absolutely, parenting is a must. So is proper sex education. I think it's probably easier for parents and their kids to talk about these things as early as they can, but seeing it on youtube unprepared probably isn't the most ideal way to start.

Oh won't someone think of the children!??!!

Ugh. You realize this was almost certainly done by children? Not 5 year old buts <18. Its not some pervert, its a stupid prank by some script kiddies.

Wow, that is sooooo wrong... the whole damn thing, lol.

Like the guy above said, most kids WILL SEE porn before anything first... this most especially includes playboys. I remember back before MIDDLE SCHOOL kids would be stealing their dad's playboy stash and trying to show their friends. This is like 5th grade man, 12 years old range without a doubt.

I would feel wayyy more sorry for the people who don't ever watch porn, and can't figure out how to fuck on their wedding night, all because they waited for so long. That is whom I would feel sorry for, if anyone

Porn teaches you how to fuck? You a virgin?

I've watched my fair share of porn, and the first few times I had no idea what the fuck I was doing. If I only knew then what I know now.

On the off-chance that this wasn't a rhetorical question, I think it's a great opportunity to teach your kids that they can't have what they want all the time.

"Because I said so" is the best 4-word answer ever invented for parents.

I know a lot of people are going to get angry, but you do realize that only adults are going to be looking at Sesame Street's YouTube channel, just to put something on for their kids. Any child that does know how to operate a computer and type, will simply get an early and shocking sex education.

This is a lot like being angry that your child just learned that Santa Claus isn't real, only that no hackers were involved.

my daughter is 4 years old. she has an android phone which she plays talking tomcat, toddler lock and a few other things on. i have a pfsense box at home which mean that the browser on it gets redirected to specific sites regardless of the url you enter in to it. it has no data access other than this. her 8 year old sister has her own laptop also heavily restricted but she would be able to be exposed to this.

the point i am making is that its not just adults.

Doesn't that work both ways for those saying it shouldn't have been done?

It shouldn't have been done because hacking is a crime. That's reason enough.

Imposing the "general" morals on others???

No, I was simply rubbing fattypants' nose in his statement to illustrate a point. Seems like you missed it.

If thats all it takes to make them into hackers/porn stars those kids have got much bigger issues.

why cant hackers hack the sites of terrorists... now that i'd be ok with
