Diablo III Higher Difficulties

Sounds awesome. I like that the focus is on SP, because Diablo 2 co-op was fun, but I mostly preferred to just solo myself.

15 minutes on the game at Blizzcon was way too short. I wants it BAD. :(

Yeah, so why then do they insist on using an always-on connection for something they (now) say is primarily "solo-focused"?

Bunch of bullshit artists.

First, they say it's more of a "social" game and they want people to play online together. But then they turn around and state that co-op is basically an "afterthought"...

Most people played D2 online, and most people will be playing D3 with others. For those who don't, there's no reason for the game to be online, which CAN be a problem for many people.

Yeah, those vids just make me want the game all-the-more, but forcing people to be online for a single player game is bullshit. Sorry, but my cable isn't made of some futuristic alien technology... even my high-speed cable goes out at times. It went out for twenty minutes last night while playing BF3 and that just sucked.

I have such a "love/hate" thing going with Blizzard and D3, it really pisses me off. I love their mentality on skills put forth in those vids, and it looks fantastic... but they have to kill the always-on shit, especially since now they're so "big" on the game being single player focused. Wtf...

To be completely honest, I fear for the long term effects that Activision will have on them. I hope that their next IP is not a FPS based on Starcraft or some crap like that.

Also, the Panda thing looks like the beginning of them phasing out WoW since it really has no place in the lore of Warcraft.

Sounds like someone hasn't played warcraft outside of WoW.

Panda's have loooong been a part of the lore in the warcraft universe.

I played warcraft 2 and some of 3, so I didn't see them.

I'm just going from what the devs were saying about the game, they said that this was their chance to expand their creative liberties and go outside of the standard Azeroth box.

Keep that shit out of this thread. This thread is not about Blizzard's choice to require a constant internet connection, and it doesn't need to be. There are plenty of threads on that already. We don't need this kind of BS arguing going on in a thread that's not even about the subject!

Also, why are you people talking about Warcraft? This is a Diablo thread. If you want to talk about the stuff they've been saying about WoW at Blizzcon, you can use the Blizzcon thread for that.

I'm not sure if I like how they seem to have left out unique items. Also, kind of put off by all of the comparisons to WoW in their conferences.. They are two completely separate games. Not sure if I want to see is D3 borrowing ideas from WoW..

Blizzard just doesn't want their product to be stolen. They're betting that more people will buy it then won't because they're pissed at the always on. I'm betting with blizzard.

Blizzard could kick my dog and fun my wife and I'd still buy D3.*

*Disclaimer: I do not have a wife nor a dog.

Anyone know when the release date is yet? Is it early 2012? I can't remember.

It was supposed to come out later this year, but a few weeks ago they announced they were pushing it back to early next year (Q1 2012). They never gave a solid reason why, but I'm fairly certain it was because so many other huge AAA titles were coming out this fall/winter, and they didn't want to compete. Honestly, that's fine by me. It gives them more time to polish an already incredibly polished game.

of all the possible reasons for a delay of diablo III my opinion is that concern of the competition is the least likely

Perhaps, but it still doesn't make sense to compete with all the other AAA titles at the same time. And the beta felt pretty polished as it was (which is not to say of course it was perfect). Regardless, for whatever the reason was, they delayed it, plain and simple. We could sit here and speculate all day.

If I had to guess I would say that Titan is a mmo fps.
