For anyone considering ordering from the DICE Store....dont. In anticipation and excitement I ordered a shirt and a poster to get by next week. Shouldn't be a problem right? Wrong, some outsourced shipping company said its going to take at least 21 days to receive. Usually I wouldnt get so upset, but what do I get when I log on Reddit tonight? BF3 community manager giving away 30 shirts for free. What a slap in the face.
 
35 bucks a shirt jesus fucking christ! We get our single color on white printed up for about 4 bucks a pop, I'm pretty sure EA gets much better volume pricing than I do.

I was willing to pay that amount just because I wanted to wear one on midnight release and show my support. Ill just take my chances at a midnight release in getting a shirt now. I sent them a mature but heated email regarding it, they (DICE and EA) probably dont even care, theyll refund my money and go on their own way, but Im hoping to at least give people a headsup.

Long range sniper shots are the most satisfying kills...that moving target at 1:03, that was pure skill right there. There seems to be a LOT more bullet drop in BF3 than BC2...gonna take some getting used to.
 
I never disputed the player's skill, I just can't ever find playing a BF game like that fun.
And if I was that player I would get satisfaction from killing people repeatedly, but after the 2 minute mark I had to end the video because it was boring. I couldn't imagine playing like that for very long at all so I don't understand how people can do that for...well one buddy of mine has been doing that for 5 years on bf2.

the only thing I can come up with is, it takes skill and its all about competition and dominating the weaker players.

basically, think of it as a digitalized version of a normal paintball game in real life. people play that, why can't they play a digital version through the web? like say, paintball players who can't play because its raining outside that day..... see what I'm saying?

it's better than gambling, or other unproductive & even anti-productive "wastes of time"

wtf is all this silliness
he's not dominating any weaker players...he's not even interacting with them other than aiming at them.

I'm not sure how you get from what I wrote about my personal preference of getting in the middle of the battle instead of sniping off in the distance to this whole explanation about paint balling on rainy days, gambling, and whatever else you think I'm not aware of o_O

This. I'd rather watch paint dry than play a fps like that.

but his kd ratio will be superb...
sniping at that range is easy and boring but some just enjoy sitting still and do it.

I play both recon and engineer class. When i finish a round with more kills than anyone else, its very satisfying i will agree. That can almost never be done while playing the recon class(unless you defeat the purpose of it and use semi auto sniper rifle with a red dot). However no other moment, maybe other than a quad kill, puts a bigger smile on my face than shooting a moving target across the map!

Recon takes more skill to learn and master than any other class... and that guy is in the top 1% of the recon class.
 
Plus the fact that when you spawn on your squad mate to find him further out from combat, in the middle of no where, its a long run back to the action. During beta I was on a server that I was doing well on, (I'm not a good player, but loved the game), so I didn't want to leave the server, but three of my squad were just sitting in fields in caspian sniping or trying to snipe. It was frustrating to say the least.
