8Gb USB2.0 PNY Flash Drive $2.84 Walmart in-store pickup

Hmmm..shows 'sold out' online now, AND the store price of $14.88. Pricing error, or inventory-clearing sale?

Either way, glad I got in for two before then! I usually miss out on these good deals :)
the price tag in the store also said $14.88

Got 10 of them at my local walmart.
$150 worth of flash drives for $28 works for me.

My local store was out of 8GB but I was able to get a couple 16GB for $10.84 each.

Had an interesting experience with this bought 8 for the 2.84 came out to be 22.72. Realized I didn't need all 8 so I went back in to return 7, had realized I left my receipt in the car and the lady goes well you can go get it or I can give you store credit, I agreed to store credit (figured I would grab some groceries while I was there too), she credited me the shelf price of 9.89 rather then the 2.84..so I walked out with a walmart card for 69 bucks..

The girls at the pickup counter at my wally were clueless. They rang me out no problem. My 9 are sitting in a desk drawer waiting for Christmas now.

They cancelled my order. Oh well, didn't really care either way. I wanted some USB 3.0 flash drives anyways.

Got 5 for myself,

Tried to pickup the 3 my coworker ordered, wouldn't give them to me (even though I was added as a person to pick them up)

Ill use three and keep two as spares.

Good score!

and FYI Ive never had walmart match website prices.

Ordered 8 this morning @ 10am, saw the Slickdeals thread when I woke up.

Picked them up about an hour ago no problem, lady was clueless lol.

FYI the shelf price was ~$15. :)

I know wal mart is the big bad guy, but I would still return the money if I were you.

If I owned a store and I made that mistake, I would appreciate somebody being fair with me.

You could call in and ask one of the sales guys see if they can check the current price, I noticed my store price was 9.89 while the online price was 14, so don't trust the site.

I wasn't trying to intentionally take money from them, trust me I was pretty speechless when it happened.

Do you know how much trouble it would be to try to return that credit if he wanted to? I had to tell the walmart employee how to work his register to even get my site-to-store order. I can't even imagine them trying to figure out how to put back a credit they should not have given. I'd just keep the $$ as payment for the 45 minutes I spent picking up 3 USB drives. (The site-to-store line is also the layaway line at my local walmart)

In fact, I bet you a 8gb USB drive the Wal-mart employee won't even be able to figure out how to do it and will end up just saying to keep the credit! lol

That might be. And in that case, he would have it off his conscience and would be done with it.

Conscience? It's not like he intentionally committed retail fraud. If I were him, I would settle for spending that money at the store. That way, the store doesn't really lose much. By the way, I advise not bothering with the downloadable movie credits... Too much DRM for my taste. :)

F'ers!
Same here.

4 drives in case, all marked $14.88. Clerk called his asst. manager because I had a page print of the website price. Asst. manager agreed to price match. Clerk grabbed ONE from the case. I asked if there was a quantity limit of if I could get all 4... or at least just 2 of them.

Clerk had to call the dept. manager now. That manager claimed the sale price was too good to be true, and he would buy them all HIMSELF if that price was legit. Then claimed they couldn't even locate that item on the Walmart website and insinuated that I was trying to hoax them. So after being jerked around for almost an hour, I left empty handed. Nothing I could do, as the print-out stated "in store prices may vary".

Why didn't the two of you go on Wal-Mart's website and do the "in-store pickup" option to reserve them, like most of us did? Don't whine if you don't take advantage of the tools Wal-Mart makes available to get these kinds of prices. :p

Because that option became unavailable very quickly.

I managed to pick up four from the in store pickup (6 of my 10 were cancelled)

I hate going to Walmart...

I bought 5 (online with "pickup at store" option), picked them up last night on my way home. Took longer to find the Site-To-Store desk than it did for the employee to grab them for me.

One of my co-workers got 15. (5 + 10 on seperate order) He also had no problems picking them up.

Mine went through fine on the website. Showed up to pick them up a few hours later, no problems. Walked in, and walked out with 3 for 9.50.

Would anyone be kind enough to sell me one of these for double the purchased priced shipped?

:D

Hah, your story isn't as bad as the time I went to Ikea and bought $600 worth of furniture at the shelf checkout lane. I tried using a coupon and couldn't get the kiosk to read it so I called for customer service. The lady came over, used her override pin and accidentally discounted my entire check. She thought she screwed up and accidentally completed the charge to my CC even though I didn't swipe my CC yet. So she asked if I wanted to do a return to get the coupon through. I said no thanks and walked out with a big troll face smile on my face.

How I'm using mine :)
(I'm good at pictures, not so much at words, which is why I've gotten myself in one too many delicate conundrums.)

How's the thickness? Not too tight, not too loose? Standard Credit Card?

Standard credit card. Without it, was too thin. Standard credit card is slightly thicker than the original sheet metal. It slides in firmly, but not too-tightly. Seems to work just fine.

Other than the outer black casing (which would require glue or heat to reassemble correctly), you can try it out without damaging the flash drive at all. Just don't super-glue it. :)

Nice slimdown mod on that Awol. Sadly I missed out on this, although the Walmart near me I'm sure would have given me trouble. I've had one of their..."expertly trained support staff" give me a diatribe before on how not paying full retail was destroying their jobs and that it was basically an affront for me to not want to pay an extra $20 on the price in store over what the Walmart website had listed.

You can never have too many flash drives
This is probably the single best thing ive ever done to make my repair jobs easier.
Thnx walmart!
