dell.com - U2412M 24in IPS - $320 + tax

im playing games like team fortress 2, without any ghosting, then again i never noticed it with my 2007FP either and that supposedly had a 16ms response rate

I am ready to jump on this monitor, but i am worried about ghosting...anyone?

I haven't noticed any ghosting at all with this monitor, but that's just my observations. You can see some if you really look closely for it, but unless you're sensitive to it I don't think it'll make a big deal.

well i ended up jumping on this. My sammy t220 just has such a bad viewing angle.

looks like plenty of people are satisfied with this monitor.

Yep, look up the long thread about this model on the displays sub-forum... This price has been available for a month if you knew how to ask. Great deal for a great display imo, it'd be tough to find another IPS screen this good for that much.

I actually used the live chat option and got price quote of $600 + tax for 2 of them, with $1 shipping to Puerto Rico. I was tempted to order a third but I figured I'll give Eyefinity a shot with these two + my current 24" 16:10 Sammy before making a call. I actually received them last week but haven't fully tested them since Monoprice lost my Displayport cable order, grrr (they resent it via 2-day air... on Friday, ugh).

That thread is particularly huge.
Could you tell me how you got $601 shipped? i.e. the exact modus operandi. Which division, and what time

I just used the live chat option to get a price quote for two of them, small business division I think, it might have been a local promotion although free shipping on anything to Puerto Rico is very rare, to say the least. If you call or use the chat for a price quote it seems at worst you'll get them for like $320 each, someone also posted a 10% discount code withing the last couple pages.

i don't know, i think your results may vary, but i was able to use the $80 coupon code and 3% student discount

*edit*
woah! FedEx showed up at 7:30am, i was sleeping. phone call woke me up. i have never gotten package this early and they almost never call. awesome!

*edit**
out of the box it was blinding bright. i was squinting. followed 10e's color guides and now i have it under control. i will say so far it looks great! makes my fp241vw look a little washed out

nope, ordered one from monoprice, something like $5 and got it in 2 days. great quality!

Just ordered a second one of these bad boys. I really shouldn't have and my bank account isn't too happy with me right now but as long as I don't order a third I should be okay...and another 6950...crap.

What did you use to calibrate?
I used 10e's settings but bumped my brightness up a bit because of the location of my monitor. I haven't changed any color settings yet. I've looked at a lot of my photos and it's quite impressive how much better they look on this monitor!

Spyder 3 Express which is as cheap as they come but does it's job well.

Got mine in, loving it.....gotta find time to swap in the DP-> MiniDP cable I finally got in from Monoprice...

I just bought an off-lease 2408WFP from dfsdirectsales.com for $192 shipped. It is used/refurbished, but the 2407WFP I bought last year from them arrived in flawless condition and still looks new today. Hell of a deal.

Is the picture quality noticeably better? What was the lowest price it was being sold for? Now 350.

I bought two for $300 + tax each, with $1 shipping, that's the lowest I've heard... $320 was pretty common for a while, Dell's always running discounts and promos.

sell me one impusle =) lol i just looked at my Dell U2311H reciept and it says i can upgrade if its before 3 yrs...I bought it last yr...so???? Would it be better to upgrade or sell it?

couple of questions:

1. Can anyone confirm that this monitor automatically wakes up when my PC resumes from sleep? My current 24" LG cannot do that.
2. Why DVI and not HDMI? Any drawbacks?

Thanks

yes it automatically does

and DVI is fine ... also has a display port which is just as useful

Can't you just leave monitors on nowadays? They usually shut themselves off into their own "sleep" mode when they don't detect any input.

As for DVI vs HDMI, as far as I understand it HDMI is pretty much DVI + sound. They're both digital signals, so I don't see how one can be worst than the other natively.

Just got mine today, absolutely love it.

Haven't gamed on this thing yet but will tomorrow. So glad I stuck to 16:10.

Zero dead or stuck pixel.

16:10 is greatest

yeah i had zero dead or stuck pixels and minimal IPS glow

every time i sit down at it, realize how nice it is

My 24" Soyos were acting like they didn't have much time left so I picked up two of these for $325 shipped each to replace them. Got em today and they're a nice upgrade. I can't see going to 16:9 after using 16:10 for so long.

FYI, my Dell rep said I can still get these for $325 shipped until the end of the week if anyone missed out.

DVI have sound too ;)

They are essentially the same as far as I am aware of....

Just call and ask man, mine were $300 + tax & $1 promo shipping, so $643 total for two of them... First time I ever bought something at Dell in over 15 years too.

They just told me the same price that is on the site. :(
