Any way to speed up AT&T upgrade eligability?

I am not eligable for the iPhone 4S until mid-Dec. Is there any way I could coerse AT&T to let me upgrade now without paying full retail? Its not like I plan to leave them. They should be happy that i want a new 2 year contract with them.
 
Let me know if you find out :D They used to allow early upgrades but now they don't. I think that all of the carriers stopped doing it.

try and call. I have heard of them doing this in the past with the old iphone 4. Can't hurt to try.
 
I called them and they said no. They said Apple actually sets the rules for upgrade eligability and they cannot deviate from them. If I had a different phone they were more willing to try and work with me, As it stands it would cost me $449 to upgrade to the 4S unless I wait until December.
 
So you already have a 4? If so, then I don't know why you're so eager to upgrade. Siri has already been ported to the 4 and you're not going to notice any other improvements over it other than the camera/picture quality.

and, of course, A4-->A5. But for most people, they'll likely never know the difference, lol.

ok, take this with the caveat that I despise AT&T with a burning passion, but it might be time to check out verizon's plans if you want a 4s (or the nexus prime!) and you're close to the end of your contract. Your etf reduces each month so you might only be ten or twenty dollars away from cutting the tether.

if you have an incredible plan that you want to keep, you have to actually threaten to close your account before they'll send you to retentions and see what they offer you for making you wait until December.
 
I'll just wait the 2 months out. I've never had problems with AT&T and want to keep my unlimited data plan and voice/data capability.

It's strange though, there are some people who have been able to get their dates changed, but it appears to be only a few customer service reps doing it. I wonder if I keep calling at random times to get the right rep if they will see any pattern and get suspicious.
