What's your SSID?

"turn down your fucking music" is mine

I have two neighbors above me that sit outside and steal internet from people while listening to internet radio and watch youtube videos at all hours of the night.
 
I'm thinking of changing my AP SSID to "I hid a web-cam in your bedroom"!

I usually don't broadcast any of my SSIDs, but "StargatePortal" is the main network and "WeCanHearYouHavingSex" is the guest network. I live in a row home, so the guest network is appropriately named for a certain neighbor...
 
Neither of mine are broadcast but I have "Wouldn`t you like to know!?!?" and "trojan.downloader.0x32003svr32.dll"

The 0x032003 are just random digits, I thought the rest might discourage the slightly more savvy, obviously anyone with any common sense would know not to worry:D

Pretty similar name as mine ... FreePorn .. it doesn't connect to anything though, just there to irritate the neighbors.:D

In the past I have used "Vanilla Dome," "World of Pain," and "GuessThePasswordAndWinFreeInternet"

If you're going that route you probably shouldn't even bother changing the SSID. The default SSID would probably be more convincing.

Wifi view from my Garage AP.

I'm 141-Networks and 141-Guest.

However when I run mobile hotspot on my phone its "Mobile Command Center".

At home its my user name. On my mobile hotspot it's AL13T.
My password is..... Yeah, right. You wish!
 
Currently my G network is "Say Hello To Your Mother For Me", my N network is "Pretty Fly For a WiFi". My guest network is "FBI Van #13". Not very original, but they work

Just did a site survey from an AP we've got at 1600 ft on a tower. It heard over 300AP's
Including one of our hotspots about 15 miles away, Facing the opposite direction.
 
Last winter, when I would go to wrestling tournaments, I would activate wireless tethering on my Hero. I would name the SSID to something derogatory to a team sitting next to us in the stands.

"Dell Rapids Sucks!" "Parker are Fags!"

You would see all these people with iPods connecting up and showing people what it said.... hehehe. You want free internet, you gotta pay the price somehow.
 
I used to have something like 234hjkwerfnklwe5w4sdf, now I have something like "Jose Chavez's Network" (random made-up name)

dont make your SSID a project for someone to crack. because its really not that hard.
make yourself look like the average dummy who doesnt know anything about wireless and probably doesnt have anything interesting on their computers.

just updated the firmware on my Engenius 9550, and changed the ssid, RCMP Car # 2 funny tho, my neighbour works for the RCMP!
