I was just going to post this..........awesome. And a good idea for Amazon.

Battlefield 3 - Limited Edition - Preload Available [Download], on the 21st

Just wait till it goes on sale, since you know it's going to be buggy at release like every other BF game.

The download will not be buggy because THE DOWNLOAD, being it's a download, will have been patched. Those buying the CD's certainly will have to download the patch that will be out immediately on release, on the 25th-ish.

thanks!

Oh, cmon bud... they had open beta and stress testing a week ago or so. I think the bugs are going to be WELL worked out by now. That's the one main reason they do open betas like that, so a bunch of people can write in complaints and they can work out kinks.

I KNOW this game is going to be huge, just watch :D -- maybe even game of the year 2012,unless SW:Tor does not continue its 3+ million preorder count.

But... BF3 will easily be the better FPS game of 2012, without a doubt in my mind

I mean, go look on the amazon page, its their #1 ordered game right now :D :D

The site shows $50.99, is there a code I need to enter or has the deal expired?

Yup, the deal has indeed expired. Probably one of the last deals on BF3 since the game is being released soon. I should've jumped on it. :(

Here's to wishful thinking and hoping that one last deal pops up before the game comes out.

$51 still isn't bad, only $3 more than the newegg deal (which I might cancel for this) and you can preload rather than wait for shipping. I really just want to get those kewl dog tags.

I love me some amazon. Had some credits for purchasing other games with them that stacked for BF3.

mine was only $6.99 after credits and promotions, but it's still $41.99 regardless.

Doh, you beat me lol. It was an amazing deal, had been waiting for amazon to have something since I had those coupons. Kept resisting the urge of other sales.

A game of this scale, there will ALWAYS be bugs and issues right out the gates. The Beta's help, but there will still lots of work post-release.

Regardless it'll still be fun as hell. :D

believe it's expired. I missed out too :-(

Yeah, but you get a deal now with the addons and preloading.... you may have missed out on the $42 price, but its changed now to add more stuff at only a few bucks more. You get the new expansion for BF3 for free at the new price....that's probably going to be $20 bucks when its released and you're getting it "free" at the new price.

So.... You're still getting some nice extra goodies at least   :p

Says this now:

Back to Karkand is a pre-order bonus regardless of where you get it. The $41.99 deal included Back to Karkand, plus with Amazon you get some unique dog tags or something, which isn't a big deal really but still, free stuff.

I preordered mine (Limited Edition) at 42 usd. I checked, and now I get preloading on the 21st, too

Looks like the physical and DD editions are $49.98, a couple of bucks cheaper.

Hell yeah, I noticed the download version requires internet to activate it? (which I cannot get while traveling soon in 2 weeks) - I wanted to snag the box, so I snagged the box version for $49 shipped, thanks for the heads up :D

Ask about the box activation in the BF3 thread. I was under the impression that it requires internet also.

I only see it (origin/EA online activation) mentioned in the DIGITAL download amazon page, while they left it out of the boxed version sale description page. BF3blog said some things about this too, but that was a while back and might have been changed/oudated so you still MAY, just may be right.
Guess I will find out and see myself :)

Well, I'm pretty sure even SP uses Battlelog so I'm guessing you'd have to have a connection to play anyway. Not sure, though.

Well, I would just think of it like a Steamworks game. Even if you have the physical DVD you are still just installing it into Steam, or in this case Origin, which you need to use to play it regardless.

Not sure if Origin has an "offline" mode like Steam, though.

Also, at the bottom of the requirements on that page you linked, it does say this:

Additional Info: Requires Origin account for game activation and online play

Yeah, but only on the PC DOWNLOAD button. If you click the one that just says PC (the first PC button next to the XBOX and PS3 button on the page) than it DOES NOT say that. That's what I'm getting at... the site does not have that additional info added on the bottom of the non-downloaded version (boxed aka retail version)

Well it appears that the system requirements are missing entirely from the retail boxed copy site.

All this bs about what is required to play the damn game makes me want to wait a week after release to see what is what and let the damn server swamp wash out a bit.

This is why I'm not pre-ordering the game, I'm going to let the release bugs be worked out first.

For those of you who ordered from Amazon, they have started sending out they keys to put into Origin to begin pre-load!!!

Don't bother Downloading it from Amazon, just get the key then past that key into Origin. Then begin pre-load

If you need some pointer on how to add a game to Origin, click the settings button (next to the question mark button) and then choose Redeemed Product code. I was able to paste in my Amazon supplied key

Why shouldn't I bother to download from Amazon? It's almost done downloading - is it not going to work???

Update. Got my email from Amazon telling me that my BF3 download was ready. I'm maybe an hour + in to downloading and already I'm at 9gig out of a 10.1gig download. Amazon is blazing fast it seems.

When I preordered from amazon, they gave me my CD key at 11 EST and I plugged it into origin and preloaded.

i got this from amazon.
