Hello all. I am looking for a gaming laptop that costs roughly 560-600 Euros ($750). I have no idea what brands are good and which brands are bad. I am looking for something that has good build quality and is reliable. Games that will be played are titles such as ME3, L4D2, GRAW, ect. In terms of specs, I would like a quad core, decent video card and at least 500GB on HDD space. If anyone can point me towards certian models or brands I would appreciate it.

The laptop will be bought in France, so linking to French websites/stores would be helpful. Thanks for reading.

Edit: While some proper games will be played, turning down some settings is ok. Obviously for $800 it won't be maxing out BF3, but I am looking for something that can at least run ME3 and similar games. I should note that this laptop is not for me and I know nothing about mobile CPUs, video cards, and which brands are the best.

It would help if you actually linked to those French online stores and such.

Also, you may have to drop your requirement for a quad-core CPU since outside of special sales, a quad-core + decent gaming GPU isn't available for under $750

I wouldn't know of any French stores as I don't speak French and don't live in France. :p I am posting this for a friend.

So quad cores and a decent video card are not possible at $750. That is not good. What CPUs should we be looking for then? Seems like i3s are not going to be an option. I know nothing about mobile CPUs. And what mobile video cards tend to be better, Nvidia or AMD?

I saw some leveno's with a quad and 6490 for around that price but heavy gaming you can't do.

You might want to up a bit to a $1000-$1200 and you'll get something decent.

Edited my OP. Maxing out BF3 is of no concern, I am primarily looking for something that can at least run your typical game with decent performance. Even if that means turning down some settings.

Thats an amazing deal. Cheaper then I paid for my laptop with a roughly 20% faster video card, better resolution screen.

I'm very proud of my quad core in my laptop, but I will say that having a faster dual core would be cheaper and over all better.

Thanks for the replies everyone, keep them coming. This one looks to be the best deal for the price. A 460M (assuming it is as fast as a normal 460) will be great. :)

A 460m is a very different chip than a desktop GTX 460: in addition to low clock speed it has less shaders and ROPs. In comparison to a desktop chip, it's closer to a slow GT 450 while a 485m is closer to a desktop GTX 460. Welcome to the world of deceptive laptop GPU naming conventions.

A propros du vendeur, est-ce que tu peux faire envoyer un laptop des Etats-Unis? Si oui, tu as beaucoup plus d'options.

I figured this would be the case. How would the 460M compare to the GT540 in this laptop:

I just got an ASUS K53SV-B1 for about $750 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YW6HP2

And which laptop looks better between these two overall? So far, the advantages I can see:

G53SW-XN1

Faster video card?
More video RAM
Higher resolution - is it even noticeable on a 15.6?

ASUS K53SV-B1

Smaller, lighter
Larger HDD
Better battery life?
