same company, not that surprising - like bnet for blizzard or something except it only for websites and origin
 
Well, I am getting 50kB/s no matter what I do. It is not my connection because I can still download an Ubuntu ISO at almost 3MB/s. Using some links provided in the forum I get 50kB/s for each transfer so it appears they are throttling it at their end.

Did you already try pausing and resuming the download? This has worked for me in the past.
 
Are you tracking your upload speed? maybe it's holding your download speed back.

a couple years ago I had that issue on another ISP... had to use a program called Net Limiter I think to cap my u/l speeds so my download would be happy.

5 mins til the beta weekend, I've been trying to stay neutral in how I'm really feeling about the game until I play it. I'm thinking I'll like it but have also had thoughts that it won't hold interest for too long. About time to find out.
 
Pretty impress with this game. Sound/voice is so freaking impressive it just immerse you into the game.

Combat is MUCH better than I expected. Moving around and shooting/360 canon shots - lol.......this isn't a boring stand still and hit 1-3 buttons. I can see potential here in the pvp system.

Confirmed my pre-order by getting a chance to play the beta this weekend. 10/10.
 
I got my sith warrior to level 10 tonight and still having fun. Got my saber so all good.
 
I probably won't be purchasing this game...it's WAY too friggin boring and just seems like it's a reskinned warhammer or wow

This fixed it for me too. I am glad they have lots of pop up windows when completing quests etc. to give feedback for this beta.

Thats all I am going to say for now, the graphics problems are the only thing that caused me grief so far in this beta. So far way better than SWG ever was lol
 
so far it's pretty fun. just need to find a group to do COS on my jedi knight so i can go get my sabre.
 
this game has just sucked me in so fair got my Jedi up to lvl 10 got my light stick and then did sum intace on a ship and dam it was fun.

combat is fun it just flows good
quest voiced overs and stuff yuck you in

way way the hell to broken up every thing is a dam instance and every main zone has instances of it self and the maps seam very closed in and not to open at all

no crafting?

over all i think i will pick it up i been playing since last night and i had a blast the whole time
 
No crafting? Thank the lords, man I hate crafting in MMOs. I wish they would send me an invite.
 
Engrossing story but so far the crummy textures and lack of environmental detail sometimes gets irritating. Dont get me wrong, parts of the game are amazing looking but the terrible textures just lose the feel.
 
Second beta weekend, rebuilding my evil redhead sentinel.

She doesn't like flesh raiders.
 
sentinel/marauder is pathetic, and cannot out-dps a tanking class. i feel sorry for you.

I haven't really been following the game but I feel this has to be something being held off on for the beta. Meaning the release will have better textures.

As a side note I do love the fact that everything is fully voiced.
 
I think the game is a winner after playing a whole weekend. I can see myself playing monthly and clocking in 1k+ hours
Just like any beta (see recently released mmos) better to see how the devs finalize the class balance before pre ordering. Being an mmo veteran its been the trend of devs to heavily modify classes last minute pre release to first major patch to the point many classes become a completely different playstyle(either good or bad). This is why I think pre ordering any mmo is not a good idea no matter how tempting the in game perks are.
 
How's the performance for everyone? Running 1080 + maxed I'm getting pretty low frames. I'm getting better fps from the BF3 beta. Maybe it's drivers, or my crossfire isn't working, but with my m18x with 2x6990m's, I was getting 20-30 frames on sith's start level.

Getting like 40-60 on BF3 caspian border maxed compared to this game, 20-30......I hope it improves.
 
The lack of openness is my only concern. Is the whole game going to be like the starting areas? I'm just not getting that sense of exploration like in WOW, EQ, or DAOC (the only MMO's I've played). In fact, it feels very similar to KOTR, almost on rails.

thats not really true.

a tank cant do the same dps as a sentinal/marauder, but if he specs for dps he can do pretty good dps but then he cant tank.

also higher levels the sentinal pulls away from guardian dps even more.
 
Im not a MMO person but after trying this out this weekend I really do think its a lot of fun. Wish I could have played with a group though.

Using both the machines in my sig, I play at 1920x1200 or my PC and 2560x1440 on my imac. I get from the mid 20's to the 70's. It plays smoother on my imac where I average in the 40's. Everything maxed except AA as it doesn't let you turn that on.
