I would be contacting razer with that question, not users on a forum.

asd :D

in my experience i can tell you that most problems are especially solved in forums of people experienced. Here you can find many opinions, and in the end you can know what you need. In this case, only an fps player can tell me if mamba 4G hasn't lift problem. Razer would tell me: yes it's the most successful mouse with the lift technology we have done.
Ok.. and then?

I wouldn't ask questions about a mouse in a forum specifically for mice and keyboards either.

The Z-axis issues have not been fixed.

really?? they are crazy? my dream about a deathadder wireless is death? D:

But it could be solved in the near future?

It's a problem with the sensor itself, and they use that same sensor in several of their mice, so I wouldn't count on them solving the problem any time soon. If you want a Deathadder, just get a Deathadder.

hahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahhahaha

care to elaborate? :)

Same ol' bullshit. Jitters. Losing connection to base. Profiles not even loading. The 1.04 firmware I swear made EVERYTHING worse.

v2.0 drivers...now I can't get profiles to even stick at all, nor do the keybinds.

I shit you not. Took me 4 fuckin minutes to TRY and swap profiles. 4 minutes. 4 FUCKIN MINUTES!!!!!

HTF can the BWU be so good and this POS mouse so bad. If I lived near a lake, I would skip this fucker across it.

It's not hard to make a good mechanical keyboard. They were built to last. All Razer did is make a different outer case for the keyboard. But I think even then they have some build quality issues with some of the blackwidows. Pathetic honestly..

Shit so goes mamba as an option!
Naga is the same sensor? Or good? Naga is only interesting to me now knowing mamba is useles, playing fps and SC2. Have now copperhead(tweaked) on funcsurface and am changing this month to a new mouse and razer goliath speed mouse pad. (DeathAdder is not simpatic).

Thought I would update.

Razer sent me a new mouse Thursday. That was a fast turnaround I have to admit. AND I am shocked at this part... the rep was pretty damn useful. Heard my complaints...didn't even ask me to go thru some bullshit troubleshooting. Just sent me a new mouse.

Now that I am not pissed, here is some info.

Mouse is exactly the same buildwise as the original Mamba. Minus the new lighting of course. Feels exactly the same. I could have swore I read somewhere it had rubber sides. But no dice.

Updated to latest firmware and software.

Zero jitter on this new mouse, and I am not losing connection to the base as often as I was. It might happen once a day, as before it was like once every couple hours. This is actually better than the original Mamba in that regard. Also I found this out. Lose connection to the base? Place it back on the dock for 2 secs. I KNOW this sounds like common sense, but it never worked on the original Mamba.

The battery life is actually much better also than the original. You actually can get a full day out of the battery in without a charge needed. It does say like 7 or 8 hours in the software...but it is more. The original Mamba was 8 hours max? This is definitely due to you being able to tell the mouse when to go to sleep to conserve the battery. It has zero problems waking up thus far.

Will give some more info on tracking and gameplay after a couple more days of messing with it. So far so good though. Feels "smoother" than the original Mamba.

The software is MUCH better this time around. The original mouse software would hang for about 1 minute before you could edit profiles and such. Though it loads at about the same speed this time it actually gives you a loading screen, telling you what it is doing.

Wireless mode profile swaps/software access is still slower than wired, but faster than the original Mamba.

The color customization is pretty nice...So nice in fact that I must confess my sins. I snagged the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Dragon Age II Edition out of a B&M store. The one with the red backlighting and crappy DA2 design. Swapped the plate with my Normal BWU...and returned the DA2 edition. Whoever gets this DA2 BWU keyboard with blue backlighting...I appologize in advance. :( BUT MY SHIT LOOKS HAWT BITCHES!!:D

I will probably keep it just for the battery life and connection to dock issues being...tolerable.

Thinking about testing the Naga and the G9x, on goliathus.

Hopefully this doesn't count as a thread necro but.... Anyone with a Mamba 4G right now with the wireless failing on them every so often?

It was fine on day one and two, now it drops every couple of hours and it's getting annoying as all hell.

Both the dock and mouse are on firmware 1.04 and obviously 2.00 driver set.

I really don't feel like RMA'ing this thing but I might have to :(

@Gmok Bonecrusha

I'd like to know if mamba is ok for skill fps (Counter strike). I say, the new mamba 4G could be used at a very low sense? Doesnt the cursor become crazy when you put on the mouse? There are still lift problem? I have read that the 4G was made for resolve the lift problem, so it has 2 sensor ecc..

Could you help me?

InuYasha, there will always be the lift issue due to the PTE sensor the mouse uses. Though at really low levels the shift to the SouthEast is minimized.. it's still there. I can vouch for that one :\

I will admit though, the lift issue seems to be *less* with the 4G than the Original Mamba, but it's still there.

I still get a SLIGHT lift off to the SE like Munkypoo7 (God I laughed as I typed your name) says. But nothing like it used to be, where you would be facing the sky or ground on lift off. So I would say yes. The dual sensor actually works. This is at 3500 DPI.

Razer added a nice little tweak that supposedly helps also. I don't use it, so can't comment right now. Will mess with it tonite for ya.

I use the mouse with BC2. Not Counter Strike I know, but I light em up as best I can with no issues.

Munkypoo7. I had the exact same issue. Razer sent me a new mouse...I can honestly say I have had ONE disconnect in two days?

:D

And awesome then.., I guess I'll fire up an RMA. I bounced them an email anyways so I'll just reply once they get back to me... Oh well :\

Thanks Gmok :)

I ordered the new Mamba 4G, earlier today. I've been looking for a good replacement for my several years old original Diamondback. I'll post my comments when it arrives.

Oh, I wanted to mention, I've been in contact with a Razer rep for the past few weeks. The issue with wireless drop outs for those who have it, it's driver related.

I uninstalled the drivers and now for the past well, two weeks I've had absolutely zero drop outs :)

Mamba here

the disconnect

be aware that the Mamba uses 2.4GHZ spectrum for RF communication. So if you live in a place where you are flooded with Wi-Fi AP, if you would to do a Wi-Spy you woul probably see channel interference.

I have this mouse. Updated FW to 1.08 and driver 2.0 and also update the firmware on the base. No drop outs. Of course I have to dust off fear 2 as that is the newest FPS I ahve unti Serious Sam 3 comes out. :)

Just an update.

After a few weeks with the Mamba 4G...This mouse as far as mice go is pretty amazing. They got it right. Everything works perfectly. I have had about 2 dropouts total. The software is responsive, unlike past iterations. (Tip: Delete any profiles you don't use/need. Cuts down dramatically the load times)

The lift issue is still there, but it is a slight SE movement, that I pretty much don't notice. It is NOTHING like the old Mamba, where you would be looking skyward or toward the ground in a FPS.

Overall I will give this a 9/10. Where I would give the original Mamba a 6 or a 7 out of 10. They fixed the glaring issues. Added a nice couple tweaks. Stayed with the Death Adder design. What more can ya ask for?

I have a question for all laser/optical mouse users.

The last time that I personally lifted a mouse was waaayyy back in 2001 with the Razer Boomslang since that had a ball.

Don't you folks adjust the mouse so that you don't HAVE to lift the mouse?

After that, when I switched to Optical/Lazer, I have never lifted the mouse of the surface. But I have always been a very high sensitivty player since Doom.

Back in the day while I was playing Battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament 2003 I always have the tendacy to lift the mouse. Nowadays I adjusted to a higher sensetivity and no longer lift the mouse.

well i got fedup with the stupid RAT 5, i pulled the trigger on the new mamba, along with the Vespula mat, both seem to have great comments.

Thanks for your input i will report back once i get it.

Vespula sucks. I've had it less than a year, and the damn thing is wearing out fast as hell. Will need a new mat by the end of the year.

intresting..

I am curious of your charge use routine.

Mine still going. My other Mamba (pre 4G) has no issues either but I usually depleted the battery.

Does it work wired?
