Battlefield 3 General Discussion Thread

Is there an issue with the Battle Reports in Battlelog?, mine haven't been updating for the last 3 days. I used to like having a look at the reports

Around 40 kills he stopped completely assraping everyone and took some deaths.

I saw 3 players with 150 kill each yesterday in the same game, one guy killed me instantly without me even being able to blink. No PB yet of course

Got on one last night, didn't realise it was Hardcore until I'd accidentally killed 3 Polish guys on my team, ;)

i've seen about 6 of there people, usually with the SVD just littereally walking around the map or sitting in the open sorta and just popping people left and right, killing you from anywhere and everywhere.

and I swear to god people can see through just about every object in the game or your legs or something show through because I can be any where, no one around at all and just someone runs and b-lines to me. Is this one of those games where playing on the lowest settings gives you an advantage or soemthing? like foliage and such is not as foliagey?
 
I was hoping that news would come along with an extension of the beta period

Servers are limited here, there's no way in hell I can get a slot during weekend unless I sit here the entire day spamming join request :(

The people asking for an in-game browser either forgot how crappy DICE makes them, have a slow PC or just used to the console way of doing things.
PC allows us to have flexibility and an in-game browser will only add restrictions. I'm not even playing BF3, I'm surfing websites and can monitor what my friends are doing at the same time, chat with them in real time while they're in a server.

Battlelog can update the game daily if needed to fix game issues, while an in-game browser need months in-between patches to insure game stability.

I am not prepared to have a debate with you about what my preferences are and what I would hope would be implemented in the final release, I am already well aware that you are part of the league of DICE/EA defenders when it comes to this issue, suffice to say that there were THOUSANDS of people who felt the same way as me on the beta forums.

Just because we don't see things the same way or I don't rage, doesn't mean I'm an EA defender.
I said this beta will be a failure if Caspian wasn't released. But asking for things things clearly set in stone is a waste of time.

No need to get myself worked up over things I prefer versus what's good for the whole community.
BL is new, Origin is new, it's natural for people to resist change. But once they use it for a while, they will depend on it.
 
Caspian Border Servers are up and unlocked for the rest of the weekend. I know what I am going to be doing all weekend.

All of the BF3 haters out there need to try this map out, then post their thoughts.
 
Is it just me or is knifing someone so damn gratifying now? I love the new annimations along with the sounds of a knife kill. I also love the fact that people can't just run around and quick knife any longer.
 
i see 9 north american Caspian servers with open slots at the moment. kind of cool that i can check servers from my work PC which doesn't have Origin, Battlelog, or the BF3 beta installed on it. albeit completely useless to do so....

I think it's amazing! But there's a lot of whiners complaining on the battelogs forums about how slow it is and they are open to getting killed... ughhh FFs.

The fact that it is slower and more realistic, makes it that much more gratifying. Its not easy to get knife kills anymore which is much better IMO.

both of those maps look fun. Operation Firestorm looks like a classic BF2 map (sniper's crane and all) and Grand Bazaar reminds me of a BF2142 map (probably mostly due to the color palette).

The new maps look like alot of fun. Cannot wait until October 25! Used some PTO for Oct 25 and 26 for a BF3 marathon!

Those things can be updated and tweaked, Origin and BL is here to stay.

All that stuff you asked for will be tweaked and active in the retail release.

No, because it is actually not worth the effort and aggravation of having a discussion with you when it is not going to make a a lick of difference. I have already put in my two cents at the beta forums, that's all I care about for now.
 
It's weird, i rebinded the vehicle button to the middle of the keyboard in the helicopter tab, yet i still somehow fell out of the helicopter. What the heck?! Is the control assignment screen bugged?
 
I'm not sure how many people were playing in that operation firestorm video. (I know he said it was a 64 player conquest map, but were there actually 64 people actively playing?)

Lots of it seemed pretty barren, almost like the map was too big, action to spread out. Curious if they will ever increase the player size in this game. I'd love a 64 player rush, and 96 player or something conquest. Love chaos and madness!

Thats the main problem of conquest in a lot of larger maps even back with 1942, sometimes you just run into 3 or 4 enemies at a time and it doesnt seem like that much is going on. Happens with caspian as well, though the tards lining up at the airfields don't help much.:(

That is definitely the problem, the people lining up for the jets and heli's instead of joining the fight.

Seems like the only good thing about PC gaming anymore is complaining about how consolized ______ game has become.

See any thread about Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, BF3, Rage and I'm willing to bet Skyrim when that comes out.

I miss the old days where people played games for fun I guess.
