Will look exactly the same, but maybe .00001" thinner and running 6-mo old tech hardware.
Do we know any facts about iOS5 yet?
iOS5 is great, even in beta form. Although I dislike the fact that 'Assistant' will be a feature only available on the new phone. The original 4 has plenty of 'power' to run that.
So much is up in the air.... Rumors about Sprint getting exclusive rights to iPhone 5 and iPhone 4GS... so much is out there.
When does the press conference start?
I really hope that isn't the case.
I'm so fucking ready to get rid of my Android phone that I hoping Verizon will start selling 4s on the cheap without contracts (like $200 without a contract) so I can get off this horrid OS that is Android.
I think 4" is about right. 4.3" is almost verging on too large, but some phones, like the HTC Inspire, manage to keep small bezels, so it's managemable. The main Apple rumor sites now seem to be edging toward the "minor" upgrade "iPhone 4S" instead of an "iPhone 5".
I've read a lot of aggressive comments on forums of people threatening to move to Android if Apple doesn't introduce a radically redesigned iPhone with a 4+ inch screen, or LTE, etc. I don't believe that for a second. Some of these Android phones are ridiculously large. These posters also assert that Apple will be "behind" if the phone is jusst an iPhone 4 with faster internals, even though they're still selling millions of iPhone per quarter.
I think a safe bet is that no matter what they introduce, it won't be available for a couple of weeks at least.
iOS 5 is the big thing to me, anyway. So many improvements over iOS 4.
Still, faster hardware is important, too, as my beaten-up 3GS is choking on a lot of apps these days, and man do I ever need a 64 GB option. Audiobooks and podcasts, combined with apps and music, photos and videos really eat up space.
lol @ $200 w/o contract
People can dream.
Yes we can.
Paying $600+ for a phone out of contract is just insane when you think about the specs compared with tablets and such. $200 out of contract would have people switching now instead of waiting for their current contracts to expire.
I could see the 4s going for a low no contract price. Apple shaking up the market.
but that encourages people to stay IN contract, lol. I bet to no small degree carriers apply pressure to cell phone manufs over this.
iPhone 5 on sprint only running LTE. Verizon and AT&T to get iPhone 4s until 2012.
What ustream is that? I see leolaporte's, is there someone broadcasting from the town hall room?
If its a bigger screen I'm leaving Android and coming back to Apple. If there's no change I guess I'll wait for the Nexus Prime. We will see.
I hate google phone users.. You also think you are superior to everyone else.. If an iphone with 6month old hardware can run smoother than your top of the line android phone.. then there is something wrong with that..
and.. who cares if the phone is not top of the line hardware.. your buying the OS, not the phone really.
lol, yeah. I have an Atrix, while some would claim it's silky smooth (much better since it now has CM7 beta), it lags noticeably behind my Samsung Focus in even simple tasks, like screen transitions...
But I cannot deny it, Android has a rather mature OS, overall. Some issues, mainly with the wide spread of HW and app quality, but all those can be overcome, IMO.
