Hello. I was wondering if anyone else is having same problem as me.
G700 just won't travel in straight line when I travel mouse in vertical/horizontal line.
It would always move towards diagonal direction.
I'm not looking for perfect straight line.. before anyone ask.
It would noticeably move towards 20-40 degree in diagonal direction.

here some info...
OP is using claw grip.
tested on different computer.
tested different dpi settings
tested only on wired USB connection.
tested mx518, G9x.. no diagonal pattern detected. only G700.
tested on ratpadz and wooden flat surface.
tested 2 G700... same problem for both.
tested with/without setpoint.
sent logitech(2of them) for RMA. New replacement came.. still has same problem.

.. so I tried 'palm grip' now.. it seems like I would have to twist my hand/mouse towards NW in 20 degree to make mouse travel in straight line.
is this normal? or is this normal for palm grip users grabbing the mouse? or did I get another bad mouse?

thanks in advance.

Try it wired.

Yep.

Also, try it on a different surface with some more contrast. Using my mouse on my textbook (a bunch of straight stripes) would sometimes cause it to only move in one direction. My current surface (a white table) only works because there's a piece of dirty tape where my mouse movements are. If I move it off the tape, it freaks out and moves at random angles.

Do you live in the Mystery Spot? I have 2 of the G700, work & home and both work fine.

i've already tried USB connection, ratpadz and flat wooden surface. (noted already in original post)
problem is every other mouse is working fine in same environment.
i just dont know.. what the hell is wrong with it honestly...

see pic =/

i need to hold this mouse tilted(towards NW as seen in pic) in order to work as intended.

thanks for all the replies.

edit: found some link describing my problem. its doing exact same.. cursor is registering in diagonal direction by default.

Sounds like you are holding the mouse crooked and that would cause the vertical to go at a diagonal.
I have a G700 as well and use it both wired and wireless mode daily.
I also use both palm and claw grip style depending on what I am doing with the mouse.

the video at xim3 shows a guy positioning the mouse on an angle slightly towards 1 oclock.. The mouse isnt symmetrical, so positioning it like that doesnt work.

im not sure if im suppose to believe this bs.
logitech just replied and i need to hold this mouse in direction shown in picture below.

really.. i have nothing against palm grip user.. but how do you guys hold mouse like that? >.>
i do hold my mouse tilted(barely tilted towards 11 oclock) but.. not that much

i tried to get used to it.. just wont work. my hands/wrist gets sore after hr or two.

can't see the image, looks like it is on your account and we have no access.

The way I grip the G700, the buttons are actually facing a bit to the right - like 1 o'clock. The upper left corner is facing at 12 o'clock.

I have no problem making the curser go where I want it to. Perhaps it is because you tilt it towards 11 o'clock.

i don't think there's anything wrong with this mouse, but it is designed that the line parallel to the mouse-wheel should point towards 11oclock. it does seem a little odd, but feels natural to me.

I grip mine at 1 o'clock also. No problems with the mouse moving where I want it to move to.

I used to have this problem with my G700 on its default settings.

When I unchecked "use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration" and checked "Enable angle snapping" it went away.

very mixed responses... 1 or 11 oclock.. + angle snapping.
how does that work?

using 'angle snapping' feature to fix this issue is bad sign isn't it?
angle snapping is used to make seamless straight line..(for photoshop or what not) using it on 'gaming mouse' is bad no?

anyhow i decided to sell it.. sold 1 and 1 remaining.. anyone interested in local deal let me know.
looking for $50, still has 2yr 3month warranty left(reason why its local).. received new replacement on september.

location is in between LA downtown and K-town area.

So what you're saying is that when you angle the G700 like in the picture and move it parallel to the edge of your desk (as indicated by the blue arrows) you get a straight horizontal line (that is parallel to the blue arrow).

Because no matter what settings I use for driver or whatever mine draws the white line when it's at that angle and I move it parallel with the blue line. That's how I drew that white line.

^ this.

if i angle my g700 like mx518/g9.. it would draw a line in 20-40 diagonal direction.(opposite direction of white line.)

edit: funny thing is that, some are able to do fine with 1oclock position. whats with that?

If you angle the mouse this way and the cursor tracks the blue line when you move it in the direction of the blue line, the mouse is not behaving correctly. You should go back to the Logitech forums (I think I saw your post there - maybe it was someone else) and PM CharlesB. I have let him know to expect it.
